The staff here are hands down The greatest, and I will bet any amount of money on that from your first step into the door the ladies at the front counter greet you with a warm Embrace. I don't think I have ever not seen them smile. The doctors are one of a kind they're great with pinpointing your problem and communicating with you the next steps to get it fixed. Next you have the Masseuse each and every one of them does something special and you will walk out of their rooms feeling like there was never anything wrong with your body. And lastly, you have the physical therapist. These young ladies mean business they will piss you off, but I guarantee you you will appreciate the work they put you through in the end. Who isn't in pain these days with all the stress and gloomy economy news. I was having a lot of pain and tension in my neck and upper back and shoulders. I drive by this place all the time and decided to take them up on their 10$ massage. After I filled in the info card, I got my massage which was amazing! Wendy took out all the knots in my shoulders and neck. She really did an amazing job in 30 minutes. As I was leaving the doctor said that it wasn't normal that a 36 year old would check off so many complaints ...such as ...lower back pain, upper back pain, neck pain and stress. I though "maybe I was exagerrating". Anyway, Dr. Akhtar offered complimentary X-rays which I gladly took. This all happened on a Friday. On Monday I went back to look at the X-rays and to my surprise I had some drama going on in my cervical spine. Apparently my neck had healed the wrong way after I got whiplash in a car accident thirteen years ago which I had completely forgotten about. Anyway, long story short I am now having 3 treatments done for 8 weeks (24 treatments) at 50$ a treatment but It's sooo worth it. I've only been twice and already I feel my neck's range of motion increasing where as before it was very stiff. The doctor explained that because my cervical spine healed the wrong way my neck and back are working three times what they normally should which explains my chronic headaches and back pain. He said that this is common but if it goes untreated it can turn into neck arthritis, Scary! So I was all for trearment and a weekly massage. I was scheduled appointment on Monday the 31 at 11:30 made by Suzan, I saw there ad on Facebook and thought I would try them out. They called me a text me to confirm my appointment and on the day of which was Monday the holiday Memorial Day and no one was there., so I called several time sitting on the parking lot and Suzan finally called back to say that their Calendar had a glitch in it but that was a lie because she called me and she text me to confirm the appointment now if she had called me that morning and cancel before I had driven to Berwyn I wouldn't be upset but that was so unprofessional to lie read more

After getting hurt in a car accident my friend recommended me to go to Alpha Pain and Wellness Center. The friendly staff welcomed me making my pain a lil less, then Dr. Akthar took the time to explain what had happened to my back and neck and explained the steps of treatment... I just started coming to this clinic as of last week. I use a wheelchair full time and my neck/shoulders are always in pain. I thought I would try a different approach, which was what led me to check this place out. They are amazing!! Everyone is so nice and work very well together to optimize your visits. They did everything for me as far as checking into I insurance coverage, which was a huge help!! Scheduling was no problem and they don't seem to book TONS of people at once so your therapy is really individualized. The massage is fantastic as well!!! I love this place! read more

I had never had physical therapy before. All of the folks at Alpha made me feel totally comfortable with the process and treatments. I had started having a lot of pain in my knee and could hardly put any weight on it or walk without limping. My regular doctor couldn't really tell what was going on with it and recommended trying therapy. Alpha figured it out right out of the gate...it was 3 different things all going on at once in there...and I started going 2x a week. It got immediately better after the first appointment and has been getting progressively better since then. The therapy involves a bit of work with the exercises and such, combined with other recommended treatments, but they make it fun and definitely worthwhile. One of the things I really like is that everyone made it a point to know my name, even people I don't work with every week, and they always ask how I'm doing. Okay, so I also wanted to get the $10 massage, you get a wonderful 30 minute massage and it's amazing. I had pain in my back that lasted for months and as soon as I left the center, it was gone :) Unfortunately my insurance (HMO) does not cover any of the cost. Alpha Rock's! I went into alpha pain and wellness a few years ago with lower back pain. From the first day I received personalized treatment as well as feeling that the entire staff I encountered was generally concerned of my discomfort. Needless to say, I'm still going into the office on a regular basis for preventive maintenance. My employment is in the manual labor field, which makes it almost mandatory that I keep things loose. I am really not sure why this happened, but it did, and therefore if I could give them a zero I would! First visit: on time, friendly staff and good evaluation. Second visit: after signing in and waiting for 45 minutes I approached the desk and asked what was happening. I was told they had been trying to reach my doctor for one week and really couldn't treat me because the prescription was not dated. I asked why they had not called me for help but they kept saying he did not return their calls nor their faxes. I told them it made no sense to let me sit for 45 minutes and not even tell me what was going on. By this time I was quite agitated and a Dr. Ashish Sud D.C. who said he was the owner of the clinic stepped in. After a short discussion things seemed to be resolved and I went for therapy with Ginny. Because of the delay I was only able to stay for 40 minutes since I had another appointment scheduled. The therapy was not exactly what I was expecting but then I was new to the therapist and she was new to me so I decided it would take time before she really understood what my needs were. I didn't really have a problem with that. Another appointment was scheduled for yesterday, July 7 at 10:30. Third visit: After a 30 minute wait, it was 11 o'clock, and not one word was heard from the therapist or the receptionist, I was absolutely furious. I could not believe I was being left sitting there like an idiot again, waiting for an appointment that was not to be. With as much politeness as I could muster at that point, I walked over to the desk and said in a calm voice, "I am leaving now, you may send me a final bill." Beatrice looked up at me and said ,"Oh, ok, sorry."and I left. I have no idea why I was treated this way. Maybe it was because they already had too many Medicare patients. None of this made any sense to me. The person who had recommended them to me was really shocked because she had nothing but praise for them. I find this entire situation perplexing. read more

I had an injury that sent me back to alpha, and was a bit hesitant to go back since most of the staff was new, and seemed so rushed first time back. Imelda from the front office made that visit more comfortable. Very attentive to what was needed to be done for the treatment. Even if you are in pain, with a person so cheerful, makes it welcoming and will get you moving and ready in no time. Had a massage today and it was incredible. After the massage, I was very dizzy and nauseous (totally my fault for drinking caffeine and NO water and working out prior). I addressed my concerns to the chiropractor and he personally checked my vitals to make sure I was okay before I left the clinic. I appreciated this very much and you can tell they care. I have been going to Alpha Pain off and on for a few years. When life kicks my butt, the treatments I receive here gets me back in working order. I have primarily gotten therapeutic ultrasound treatment, electrotherapy, back/neck adjustments, and massage - the standard recipe for stress related tension and issues. The staff remembers me by name and is generally very friendly. The massage rooms are all extremely soothing and calming with music and dim lights. I'm not super fond of the open PT area in the middle of the space, but I have not had to use that area personally. I love that there is a great deal of flexibility in scheduling; I can often make an appointment the same day or change it. I have really good insurance that covers the type of treatment I get entirely. I recommend this place to anyone. read more

A always looks at my form when performing therapy and knows my limits. Dr. Parikh the podiatrist also has a great bed side manner, she listens to my concerns and has aided with an ingrown toe nail that had been bothering me for over 15 yrs and she was able to permanently resolve the problem. She also recommended orthodic inserts that have aided with my hip and lower back issues. As I read some of the negative reviews, I can say that the front desk staff always greets me with a smile and tries to accommodate my schedule. Beatrice has been there since I started going and she is so sweet. Irene also very sweet, does all my upper back ultrasounds which I recommend to anyone who suffers from inflammation and ofcourse let me not forget the massage therapists. They have a few and all are well trained but my shout out goes to Fernando. He has help me so much with my fibromyalgia pain. He understand the trigger points and is great at providing deep pressure therapy. read more

If I could give zero I would. I just found an old receipt from the massage center that they took over from 2007, I had purchased 8 massages, and used 3. I still have the original receipt plus the dates of the massages I used. I didn't think it would do any good, the receipt is so old, but cleaning out my desk, so I called to see if they would do anything and Dr. Akthar first told me he would give me a couple massages, then he said one. Then he said I probably had used them all, and my phone call was "JUST A SHAKEDOWN." I understand he doesn't have the old businesses records, but I hung up after he accused me of a shakedown. How unprofessional is that? I am a buyer of packages, and he could have gained another patient that buys 8 at a time. Someone will, but not him. Wow. Dr. Sud offers physical and massage therapy as well as stim treatments which can be done on the same visit. Wow! I would give this place zero star if I could. Don't go to these guys! Zero level of professionalism! Rude! Dishonest! Today the Pakistani "Dr" yelled at me and called me a lier! Each time I went there he was yelling at me telling me that I am not paying enough! He said that the other doctor who gave me a deal didn't know what he was talking about! He also called his staff "nobody"! Yes he said that those girls who work there are NOBODY!!! And you know what's bothering me!? My appointment was not even with him!!! It was with another doctor! They made me drive 32 miles over there to not give me the service they promised, but to disrespect me and to force me to pay them more money!!!! What they did to me today was unbelievable! I wished it was possible to take legal actions for emotional abuse like you can for physical abuse! If it was possible I would definitely do that! This is the most unprofessional chiropractor's office I have ever encountered. They do not return calls left on voicemail. They also do not provide reminder calls to confirm appointments 24 hours before. I scheduled an appointment through Groupon and they called me less than 24 hours before the appointment and cancelled it for no reason except that "the doctors won't be there" The next appointment was not for another week. On top of that they had the nerve to ask me to call Groupon once I got to my appointment to reissue the original voucher from the appointment THEY cancelled. I asked why couldn't they call and the receptionist said she couldn't (most likely she just didn't want to). The staff did not greet me or acknowledge me in any way when I walked in even though there was only one other patient in the lobby and two receptionists, one of who appeared to be doing absolutely nothing. I re-injured my left knee dancing at wedding reception...Yeah..I Know..Had way to much fun. Stopped by Alpha to see Dr Akhtar and Dr Sud. They took a look at it and from the moment I stepped foot in there..I felt like family. The front desk staff were courteous and polite. Dr Akhtar and Dr Sud diagnosed the injury and made a great recommendation to an Orthopedic surgeon. Dr Kalina helped me with the pain management until I was able to get my appointment with the surgeon. After my surgery, I went back there for my physical therapy. I worked with Ginny and Sam....WOW...Great people!!! Sam kicked my butt in therapy and I made tremendous improvement within months!! I love their approach with having massage therapists focus on the problem area after the physical therapy. Great concept and worked wonders for muscle recovery!! While I was doing my physical therapy..I met with Dr Parikh to discuss how to my feet and ankles affected my recovery. She was awesome and described everything so clearly and assisted with me with orthotics. Dr Sud and Akhtar really care about over all Wellness. I would recommend my friends and family all day long!!! As a physician myself, I can honestly say this center is truly outstanding. The entire staff is extremely welcoming and very professional. All the clinicians and therapists are very knowledgeable and compassionate. They treat any and all types of musculoskeletal pain or related injuries from head-to-toe. From my longstanding experience with them, there is over a 99% chance you will leave there feeling a lot better. I had to pick one star to write, but honestly this place sucks, and gets a ZERO from me. Office gals NEVER return your calls, when you leave a message. The so called Dr, (if he is one) rushed me in for xrays, and then talked about money. Said I would be treated through massage and chiropractics. First appt. I waited 20 minutes for a massage, that was decent. Then I laid face down on a table with a tens unit attached to me for 6 minutes, unit was still running when the gal took it off. Waited another 20 minutes for the Dr. He comes in with this toy looking thing, zaps my back 6 times, and says that's it, I cannot adjust you, you need MRI's. Told me to go far away to a place in Deerfield, probably because he gets a kick back from them, or owns the place. Then and there I knew I wouldn't be back. What am I paying 70.00 for, just a massage?? Then the office calls me asking me to make my next appt. I said I won't be back, I was told to hold on. Then the Dr came on the phone, and said, I got your 3 MRI's approved, so let's get them done. I told him I wasn't returning, that I didn't care for the treatment I received. He said ok, have a nice day, and hung up. The funny part, is, I received in the mail that same day, that my insurance did NOT approve the MRI's, and therefore I would have been paying out of pocket!! He wrote I was having hip pain, and needed the MRI, and no....I had upper back pain. I would have had this MRI for nothing! This place is horrible, save your time and most of all your money and find a chiropractor that really cares about you, and not the money. A huge shout out to Judith Jones and Alpha Pain and Wellness center in Berwyn!!! I have chronic back pain. Some months I will experience no pain, but just a simple sneeze could trigger a pulled muscle. Well, I had bad back pain since Sunday night after driving for 6 hours straight. By Monday I was taking flexerall and ibuprofen 800 to help with the pain. Being an avid bowler I tried to bowl on Wednesday. I bowled two games and had to quit because the pain was so bad. I went for a massage with Judy at Alpha on Thursday, which was amazing, but on Friday morning, the pain was still pretty bad in my lower back and when I tried to stand up straight, the pain was pretty intense. I didn't think I would be able to bowl that night because I couldn't stand up straight. I went and saw one of the doctors/chiropractors at Alpha Friday morning. I got complimentary x-rays which showed no bulging discs, etc. and found out that my pain was muscular. I then was scheduled for treatment. I saw one of the doctors who treated me with ultrasound, deep heat stimulation, gave me an adjustment and massaged my back muscles in some awkward way I have never been massaged. It felt amazing though. Needless to say, the doctor said you are done and you should be fine to bowl tonight. I left skeptical, but an hour later, the pain was 99% better and I was able to bowl that night. I shot 660, with a 269 my last game and was pain free. I am still in shock that after one treatment at Alpha my lower back pain is gone! I highly recommend this facility to anyone with chronic back pain. Thank you so much! read more
