I went due to extreme bilateral flank pain. I thought I had a kidney infection. They brought me back and checked my urine. Britney comes in and says my urine was clear, only some blood. She did not examine/touch/ look at my back to see if it was musculoskeletal. She listened to my heart and lungs, and that's it. Prescribed me antibiotics anyway and get this...gave me 6 Naproxen. I mean...6?! I don't go to the doctor EVER. I hate going so when I do, it's severe. My back is still hurting, and the appointment was a waste of $50. At least give me 20. I never in my life prescribed someone 6 Naproxen. Guess I'll just have to keep living with this pain.

To me, nurse recurrently did not accurately repeat facts I relayed. I felt she kept inaccurately rushing to wrong interpretations & not hearing. Next 3 nights after visit I could not sleep due to continual coughing with no care. Upon our return to Memphis internist gave me antibiotics, cough syrup, medrol dose pack, sleeping pill because it had gone on so long & he expressed sympathy that I had not been previously well served.

Beware: If you have insurance, this place charges you using "provider based billing" (which equates…read moreto charging you an unreasonably high "facility fee" in addition to the charge for seeing a physician). This is how they legally overcharge you here: first they charge your insurance for the 'physician services' (say $200), for which you generally pay a copay. Normally my copay is only $15 for a doctor visit, and that's all I pay. But not at this place! Because here, on top of that, they charge your insurance AGAIN in the same exact amount (so another $200), only this time, it's charged as 'hospital services,' which are generally subject to deductibles and coinsurance amounts. All of that equates to a much higher out-of-pocket expense for you. It's like going to get a haircut and the hairdresser telling you afterwards "okay so your haircut was $40, and you owe me another $40 on top of that because I cut your hair inside a salon." It's very deceptive & they don't tell you any of that up front.

X-rays were taken and she (our DR) showed us the break and explained everything. She let us take a copy of the X-rays with her report and advised us to go to ER. Having that information sped up the ER process. This is my go to place for minor emergencies- I would highly recommend!

Really??!?…read more...So I called at 7:00 to see if they were still testing, as they close in one hour, at 8:00 pm. No answer. I figure, they must be so swamped they can't get to the phone. No available appts online for the next two days, and unable to check beyond that. So, I get my child into the car and drive over, arriving 7:10-7:15. Are they closed? Looks like a ghost town (see pic). Nah, it's just dark tinting on the windows. Door is unlocked, waiting room is quiet and empty! Lucky us!! A young lady is behind the front desk, and asks how she can help. "We're here for COVID testing." She replied, "We stop doing that every day at 2:00, because ... so many people have COVID." (HWHAAA--?). I said it would've been nice if she'd answered the phone and let me know that before I made the trip, or if they had noted it on their website, to which she replied, "Yeah." Customer service seems to be a foreign concept here. I guess the reimbursement for COVID testing isn't worth their time. My first and hopefully last visit to Maxem. Don't waste your time here- head to AlphaCare - no wonder they were fully booked tonight. Unlike Maxem, AlphaCare seems to want to help people!
