Called and got Carl. He apologized and said they were getting new groomer who knew her stuff, so I agreed to try again and booked another appt. 3rd time - I show up at 9am and guess what - they arent there. no show - I call Carl who says he doesn't know why but asks if he can call me back to rebook - and has NEVER called me back - that was a month ago. Luna was any where between 5-8 months and I would now be her 4th owner. Luna was an extra large puppy about 75lbs a shepherd, boarder collie, retriever cross and facing many health problems as well as behaviour issues that were unfolding by the day. Luna is now between 98-100lbs. Luna was hyperactive, barely knew to sit, would chronically whine, stress bark/scream became reactive (barking and lunging) at dogs, buses, large trucks and would lose complete control if she saw anyone with a ball of any kind. Luna could not focus at all was high stressed, high strung and a handful who is a super athletic dog who is strong. Luna wold turn her frustration to me and jump up and nip and mouth leaving me with busies and often in tears. Drew and I worked for the same company for many years knew of one another but didn't know one another well. Meeting drew on our first consultation I was so nervous I was trembling. My fear was that Drew would tell me that Luna should be put down or was hopeless to train, would have no dog friends and was aggressive. (Something another trainer advised me) I loved Luna and saw her struggles the moment she stepped out of the craigslist posters car and I knew I wouldn't give up on her. Drew is supportive and not once indicated that there was no hope for Luna. Drew tried all kinds of tactics to reach and connect with Luna. Drew helped me perfect my body language and increase my confidence working a strong, working breed. Drew helped me break down step by step every challenge I was facing (and there were many) Every time I needed Drew a solution was provided. It was a struggle and Drew's commitment to Luna was an inspiration and motivation to keep going. Today Luna has peace a gift Drew helped me create with Luna. Luna knows well over 50 commands well, Luna is obedient has learned to ignore all dogs, has actually made dog friends and can be trusted with puppies as young at 9 weeks old with no issues. Call up Anna and her wonderful dog walkers! I've used Whistler Dog Sitting for the past two trips in Whistler and I am happy to report both times went without a hitch! Anna and her sitters enabled me to enjoy my ski trips without worrying about my dog making a mess in the room or me having to quit the slopes early to take him out. Maybe it's a common Aussie trait, but Stephanie bonded easily with my dog and gave me status updates and photos of their adventures together. She accommodated all of my requests (room access, treat allowance, keeping him warm) and communicated with me quickly if there was a problem. I never had to go through her boss Anna for any issues. I will caution you that they have a two hour minimum ($20/hour) and only accept cash! So if you are traveling from out of country make sure to get some cash handy to pay the sitters (they must be paid each day for service). It will be well worth it!

The owner, Anna responded promptly during the holiday and sent over a liability and waiver to sign also wanting to gather details of our dog, Chip, so they could care for him. We arranged for 2 nights of sitting with this company for 3 hours each so that we could go out for dinner. First night: we had some transportation issues getting up to Whistler and arrived many hours later than we had anticipated. I went back and forth with Anna several times that day on email and she was highly responsive and understanding. Our sitter patiently waited for us and also texted me so I could let her know when we arrived. Carolyn had treats but was sure to ask if he had allergies, let us know what her plans with the dog were and she was very sweet to him. When we arrived back he was sleeping in his Westin Heavenly Dog Bed and was in good spirits despite a long dark bus ride up from Vancouver that day. Second night: we met Tamara in our hotel room and Chip got along with her right away. She provided an itinerary as well and took him out for an hour long walk. I left toys and treats for her to use with the dog and she asked us about specifics around food and his history. While we were waiting for our dinner reservation we did spot Chip out and about tail wagging happily and flirting with all the ladies. When we returned Chip was again well exercised, in high spirits and well behaved sleeping on top of our bed waiting for us. Will hire these folks again. Solid customer service and great sitters.
