I just got married at Alpine Grove on 9/5/20. I cannot say enough good things about my experience. Michelle and the staff were OUTSTANDING from start to finish with service, set up, customer service and picking up things I missed as a stressed bride. I had a vision and they surpassed it. It was a perfect day. I love that their wedding packages included so many vendors- this helped eliminate so much stress and guess work. The moment you drive into Alpine Grove you anticipate a good time among the tall pines. We held our daughter's High school graduation party in The Pavilion room at Alpine Grove and couldn't have been happier. The folks at Alpine Grove were so accommodating and made every effort to make it a special occasion for all in attendance. The grounds were well maintained, The Pavilion room was welcoming, the bathrooms were spotless and the food was delicious (Yankee Doodle). A delightful little place in the woods for a rustic wedding reception. Though I may be spoiled by the glitz and glamour of New York City, there is something about the slight antiquated style of this place that I found absolutely charming and, almost, homey. Consisting of two main buildings, Alpine Grove is surrounded by, well, a grove! (So it's not just a clever name...) The pines certainly outnumbered any sort of alpine plant. (Oh, I just had to get technical, didn't I?) Still towering majestically over the buildings and surrounding ponds and forest, I felt like I was being nestled into a secret forest party that no one else could find... The building I attended the wedding reception in was absolutely ample in space, fitting 9 large guest tables, a sweetheart table, an appetizers table, a buffet, the dance floor, gift table, and DJ. *phew* The lighting was ambient, and the bar in the back was straight country, glowing in dark, shiny wood. The staff was genuinely friendly, accommodating, and on their game consistently. And can I hear a rousing cheer for $4.25 White Russians? My goodness, and I thought an $8 one in NYC was a bargain! (Hello, New Hampshire prices...) A magical setting nestled in the forest with many wonderful memories. Beautiful outdoor landscape for a wedding or any event. We had our daughters Sweet 16 party in the Skylight room and it was beautiful. The owners were so accommodating and truly care about your experience. (A Family run business ). The food is absolutely delicious! We had the pizza bar and it was, literally, the best pizza that I ever had. My 16 year old daughter agreed. (The pizza was homemade.) I give the Alpine Grove my highest recommendation. read more

I attended an event at this nondescript venue. There is ample parking and a sufficient number of bathroom stalls that despite several hundred people in attendance there was no line. The catered food was good, but the portion size for the main course was small. A cash bar has the typical offerings at average prices. read more

Both the Culinary Institute traditions and genuine friendliness of NH are part of the culture here. Like Allison, I was at Alpine Grove for a wedding reception (in fact, the SAME wedding reception! Oh, the first of our future Yelping excursions together!) I really enjoyed my entire experience there, I won't reiterate everything Allison said, so here are the things I will add....there were a couple awkward "ramps" in various doorways that I consistently tripped over. I've been to many H.O.G. sponsored events here, and I've not once had anything other than a SPECTACULAR MEAL here!! I was recently at the Winter Thaw Party and again ... a GREAT time was had by all!! There was a DJ there - Not keen on the Kareokee thing though! Other than that... We had another AWESOME time at the Alpine Grove!! Looking forward to the next event there!! read more

The real bargain being the few holidays where the banquet hall is open to the general public BY RESERVATION- Mother's Day, Father's Day. Easter, etc. The Thanksgiving buffet was hot, plentiful, delicious with homemade turkey, ham. whipped potatoes, macaroni & cheese, fish chowder, salad, veggies, desserts, etc. $20 per person / $10 kids - cash only please but they did do a credit card transaction for someone not in the know. There are three seatings 12, 1 & 2 p.m. Cash bar available. A homey atmosphere for a large hall - similar to a really good church supper. Cannot beat it for the money. read more

I have never been so disappointed in my entire life. We booked this venue last summer for a fall 2015 wedding. In their contract it says pricing can change so we made a verbal agreement that they would let us know if this happened so we could plan accordingly. Since they said they would do this for us we continued our business with them. After going to a tasting and not liking a few items I went to change our original menu around and noticed the food and prices had changed so I emailed them to set up a meeting. They said we could set up a meeting and then never got back to us about a good date and time so my fiancé went in to speak with them. We thought we would be able to get our original menu and pricing back but since we invited more people than we estimated that original day we met they said the new pricing has to stick. We felt so deceived at this point and were both nervous to have our most special day with people running the show who have lied to us and broke our agreement that we just didn't know what they could do to us on our wedding day. Not wanting to take any chances we asked for our last payment back, we sent this payment on March 30,2015 and contacted them about the changes the second week of April, with it only being two weeks and them breaking our contract we thought they would understand. Their contract says no refunds but we thought since they broke our contract they would make an exception, but we were wrong. I emailed them exactly a week ago today asking them to please rethink their decision and still have heard nothing back. Now we have to re plan the greatest day of our lives in less than five months under so much stress and sadness and not to mention losing money from the other vendors already booked as well as the 1500.00 here. I ask you please to not make the same decision we did and have your wedding with people who will do many thing to make your day one to remember in a positive way! read more

Got the BBQ spread for our wedding. It was very well done. Stick with the simple stuff here, when they try to get fancy, things go downhill fast. The only downside was watching them cart away piles and piles of leftovers that we apparently weren't able to keep. They must have thrown away hundreds of dollars of food we paid for! I had my wedding reception there on March 8, 2014. The planning process was wonderful! The execution on the day of was not so much! I was disappointed that I the bride had to ask several times for more food to be brought out during dinner. There was also not enough hordevours in the bridal room for my 22 person bridal party to have something to eat when we got there. The wedding coordinator did not coordinate anything once the wedding was set up. My Dj and photographer both complained to me. The other thing that bothered me was the bar was supposed to put our guests juice and soda on our tab as I was paying for that and the bridal parties alcohol. My guest were charged for any kind of drink which I didn't even find out til the next day! Then the biggest thing was all three of the people that worked There were in our hall all night, they called the police on one of my groomsmen for underage drinking, they asked him to leave the reception. Well that was my younger brother! The cops didn't even do anything because he wasn't drinking! So this is an ok place if your looking to save money but don't expect to much and be sure to ask about all the fees before you get the bill. read more

I would have given this place 5 stars but I'm a little irked by the catering. I had my wedding there in the fall and I got 2 bites of roast beef the entire night. For $3,500 for food, I would have expected them to alert the bride when they were clearing the buffet or at least had someone put aside a plate for me. I specifically ordered an hors d'oeuvre that I was really looking forward to eating but was so nervous before the ceremony that I ended up getting nothing. That's a lot of money for food that I didn't get to touch! When I contacted them to address this issue, they blamed me for not getting anything to eat and said I should have expected that. Also, the Pavilion building has no A/C (which I did know about before and tried to plan for) and it turned out to be such a hot night, I ended up sweating through my wedding dress and had to have it cleaned 6 times. So keep that in mind when choosing the building you want. read more

We had our daughters wedding here and as we were planning the wedding we were so happy thought it was a great place. We had a blizzared on her wedding day and and the alpine offered us to have it the next day but with 154 people to call and flowers all set there was no way we could so we went with the flow and had the wedding we got there and things were good then things started to get rushed and things were not done they way they told us it would be two day befor not to get the bride more upset we just went with it. then time for dinner every table had to ask for more food and so did the head table Bride did not get potatoes as the mother of the bride did not get potatoes or salad when asked for more took for ever knowing only half the people showed because of the snow they should have doubled on the food for every table as it was paid for. Ordered two kids plate and only got one never answered that one. And now we are getting feed back that some of the chicken was not cooked. And the bar tenders were rude as was the manager there that day couple people told us she was rude to them. never offerd us the bottles of wine that were not put on the tables that I had paid for and again about 65 plates of food not used and they broke the cake topper. never been so rushed at a wedding. Wrote to Alpine and they just blamed everything on us and said nothing was wrong with the food. Alot of money so no worth it. read more

My son got married here October 12, 2014. I arrived 40 minutes early and the room wasn't even sey up yet! The ramp heading into the event was covered in a filthy, I'll-fitting carpet that quite a few people tripped on during the reception. It was a warm day and there were no fans set up and the guests opened the side doors; really, isn't that what the staff is being paid for? The food was mediocre, at best and the dinner rolls were hard as a rock! Several ballroom dancers were guests and when I saw the buffet table being set up on the dance floor I asked that it be moved to the side (they were folding tables, no big deal). I was pretty much answered with a tough crap attitude. The dance floor was dirty and STICKY! Guests complained that the female bartender was rude. My son actually said what a lot of these reviews say...planning stages with the staff was great and not attentive at all at the event. You could definitely find another place for the money that was spent here. read more
