I don't know how else to say this besides: if you are considering Harvest Barn Inn at all, just go ahead and book it. Our one-night stay was such a flawless and uplifting experience that I told the innkeepers/owners that I fully expect to not be able to find a vacancy there soon. Kaelan and Blessing are part of the younger generation of innkeepers bringing the B&B lifestyle to its next iteration. The inn is decorated more modern, but still very thoughtfully. Rooms and common area were very clean and comfortable. Location is absolutely perfect with a stunning river and mountain view, about five minutes drive from an absolutely adorable artists' town. The owners have clearly made an effort to integrate the inn into the community and build strong bonds. But the real magic is what makes all great B&B's great... The warmth and hospitality that the innkeepers bring. They upgraded us to a larger, more expensive room for free upon arrival. Kaelan provided a great recommendation for dinner and tips on getting a reservation. Communication was clear and easy. They provide coffee, tea, and amazing homemade cookies in the common area. The food. I can't fully explain how delightful the food was. Not only was the three-course breakfast delicious, it was thoughtful. The kind of thoughtful that showcases homemade and local ingredients. That shows restraint and indulgence at the same time. That makes you feel truly connected to the community you're in. Blessing's food feels curious and engaged and considerate, which I realize is a big thing to say about just breakfast. We shared some apples we picked In Massachusetts on our drive up, and Blessing even incorporated our apples into a cake for dessert! They also accommodated for allergies very thoughtfully. I'm counting the days until I can return to sit on the porch, watch the world wake up over the river, and enjoy another breakfast again. This is a very safe place for travelers of all kind, including LGBTQ+, BIPOC, etc. read more

I had a wonderful stay here. It is very comfortable and homey and there are interesting books to read about the area. The hosts were lovely and kind and went by far the extra mile to take me to and from the train station when there were no cabs or Ubers. They are well-informed about the area and gave me a history and good pointers. Very engaging, gracious folks. The food was beyond scrumptious. There is coffee and tea available at all times and they have yummy cookies as well. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. I wish I could give them ten stars, as five seems rather insufficient for the quality that I received. read more

What a lovely stay. All aspects of this property was so enjoyable. As someone who travels for work frequently and a dedicated rewards point member I honestly wasn't sure how I was going to enjoy staying "local". I will definently be back. I was in Vermont to attend a art class and traveling alone . After a terrible experience ( it was more like a scene from the Bates motel.....lol) at a motel up the road I stopped at the Inn in the middle of a torrential rainstorm and asked if they had any rooms. Maryann set me up in a lovely room with the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. I travel allot and believe me, this bed was heavenly The breakfast was amazing , fresh scones and fruit salad and omelets. The porch overlooking the Ct. river was lovely . I enjoyed my morning coffee while watching the storms, sunrises and sets from there. A lovely peaceful place that I can't wait to get back to. read more

This neat B&B overlooks the tranquil Connecticut River. The Orchard view suite has a beautiful view of the mountains from it's private patio. The facilities are clean, modern with a nice country touch. The bathtub was lovely and deep. The innkeepers serve a delightful breakfast. Few things beat a delicious apple french toast with crispy double thick bacon to start the day. This B&B is worth a visit when coming to Vermont. Can't say I have much to compare to on the New England B&B circuit, but we stayed here in June, and had a great experience! The innkeepers, John and Gayle are wonderful hosts. John checked us in, made us feel right at home, and gave some recommendations for restaurants in the area that were open for dinner on Sunday night. The rooms were clean and quaint, and each had a shower/bathroom. Imagine staying at a really clean relatives house that makes really good cookies. Each room had a binder full of area info and recommendations for activities and dining, as well as house info / procedures. On the property is a nice little pond just a few steps away from the back porch, they also have a meeting space out back (sounds like they get a lot of scrapbookers there). In the morning, Gayle cooked a wonderful breakfast. The first course was some yogurt and fruit and delicious blueberry scones. For the hot course, we had breakfast pies (quiches?)...she even made me a special vegetarian one! So good. Also when John saw we didn't finish all the scones on the table, he brought us a to go container so we could take leftovers for the road. read more

The rooms are cozy and the property is beautifully maintained. The rooms don't lock from the outside, none of the guests seemed to mind. I would HIGHLY recommend staying here. What a wonderful experience during a difficult stay. We were in town for a Memorial and Interment and we were pleasantly entertained by Ellen and Rich in a beautiful B&B overlooking the Connecticut River. The room was spotless and comfortable with a view of the river; the porch and the grounds were beautifully maintained; the breakfasts were delicious. We had frittatas and omelettes, fresh fruit and juices, toast, scones and really good coffee. This will not be our last stay here. read more

Halladay's Harvest Barn Inn is located in beautiful and scenic little town in Vermont, right on the New Hampshire line. There's a gorgeous view of the water right out the window of the bedroom where we stayed, just beyond the porch. The room itself was small but tastefully arranged -- it was quiet, comfortable, and attractive. The bathroom was HUGE, comfortable, and adorned with some nice tea tree shampoos and other toiletries that we found very enjoyable. There's a rustic country feel to the space in general, which was just what I was hoping for. The shared area is lovely, the hospitality was fantastic, and the food was to DIE for. There were three shared rooms to enjoy, filled with books (complimentary, if you saw one you liked), games to play, and a TV room that was well-stocked with videos to watch, if that' your thing at a B&B. The innkeepers made tasteful and much-appreciated suggestions about where we might visit in the local area, and which restaurants are ideal. We found them to be exceptional -- very tactful, hospitable, and just the right balance between welcoming and mindful of our privacy. After leaving, we spent a wonderful day driving throughout VT, taking in the scenery and visiting the nearby towns. We'll be back very soon! read more

There really is no need to look further. This is one of the best B&B's I've stayed at. The decor is creative and unique. The food was delicious. Also, I thought the rate was reasonable. Most importantly, the folks there are really warm and always available if you need anything, but they allow the guest to have their space as well. Something that I really loved. I felt right at home and didn't want to leave. This part of the east coast is just stunning and this place has an amazing view of a river. read more

Spectacular view of the Connecticut River from our room, the dining room or the awesome porch is a big draw for the Halladay's Harvest Barn Inn. What a wonderful reception - met with "straight-from-the-oven" chocolate chip cookies. What a restful and relaxing place. The flower beds are lovely. The hosts, Dan, Heather and Joyce, are warm and thoughtful. Breakfast of buttermilk waffles with strawberries, blueberries, powdered sugar and maple syrup accompanied by canadian bacon was a great way to start the day. The bed was comfy, the room was cozy and the private bath was just like being at home. The common spaces were welcoming - books to read and board games available in addition to a TV and nice ambient music in the between times. This place is a great reason to visit Bellows Falls and a terrific draw to visit again. read more

Our room (river view) was beautiful, though the bed frame made a loud squeak every time you rolled over (our only complaint and it was a small one!). We were passing through the area and stayed the night at this cute B&B! They were able to accommodate us last minute and for one night which was great because not all B&Bs will do that. The innkeepers were super friendly and we felt right at home. This is a wonderful quaint Inn in Vermont. My husband and I stayed two nights in a nicely decorated, clean and comfortable room with a spectacular view of the Connecticut River. The Inn was nicely decorated with antiques. Gayle, Jon and Kathleen were great hosts and made you feel at home. Wonderful getaway! Even just the one night was a major refresher! The Harvest Barn Inn is easily reached, right off I-91, ext. 6 in gorgeous billboard free Vermont! But first things first: the cookies, god, I could have eaten a dozen of those chocolate chip carmel ones, but tried to restrain myself (I think I stopped at 4). The view from one of the many porches overlooks the Connecticut River as it winds it's way through the region and the sweet little town of Bellows Falls-which deserves more than a drive though. The room was perfect for my tastes, simple, spotless, fabulous bed (a must) and the common spaces cozy and easily used for the little bit of internet work that had to be done. But really it's the people and the way you are treated that make a spot like this such a treat. Jessica and Zach are so warm and welcoming and really take the time to be sure you have what you need and also know when you just need to chill out. A great combination for the traveler. The breakfast was was a wonderful combination of locally sourced food and taste combinations. I had never had pancakes with crispy bacon baked right into them. Very satisfying and delicious! Halladay's Harvest Barn Inn was my first ever stay at a Bed & Breakfast and I was very surprised with the facilities, location, and inn keepers. Gayle had just made chocolate chip cookies and the smell in the Inn brought back memories of great times with family & friends. Jon showed us the pond in the back and provided fish food, which was a hit with my husband. The view from the porch was amazing! The room was comfortable and we slept so well in the cool night air. We had the squeaky bed room, but it didn't bother us - it gave us laughs and stories to tell the kids when we got home. Breakfast was just what we needed to start our day, fresh & filling. read more
