Alpine has been terrible to work with. First we were promised a $10k concessions that in the end was not given to us with no real reason. The agent we worked with had a pretty bad attitude with us 90% of the transaction. We are still finding and trying to get things fixed after moving in 5 months ago. We've had nothing but a bad experience with alpine homes. Our paint is terrible. They only do one coat of paint and we still have many walls showing dry wall, baseboards with dried dripping paint, nail holes in baseboards showing, different color paint on baseboards, parts of our ceiling not painted and outdoor paint already coming off our home. We have distorted walls, trim pieces half an inch off the ground, rough textured doors and this is suppose to be a high end community for them. We still don't have our front door, side door and back door painted and they use the excuse that it's too cold yet homes finished after ours have theirs painted. We currently have 4 leaking windows and a leaking door. Yes they are being proactive to get those fixed but water leaking is happening to other homes in this brand new unfinished community as well. They are now taking all the stucco off the back of our house to try to find the reason for the leaking windows and still are unsure what's going on with the door. We love the floor plan and the area but the quality of the home is very disappointing! If we could do it all over again we would have not bought from alpine homes! read more

Just bought a home from Alpine Homes. Jon Knight helped us out. He is amazing. There was one issue with the paint that we noticed after we closed, and he stepped up and got it fixed right away. He bent over backwards just to make sure that we were happy. Even after all was said and done, he still texts to make sure we are still happy with quality and the home. I bought a Alpine Home at Independence Village in Bluffdale. My wife and I are both more than pleased with our purchase! The Alpine Homes team is awesome and they are very easy to work with. I don't understand some of these reviews with their customer service... My experience was great whenever I had a question or concern. One thing people have to understand is that when a new home is built - no home builder is perfect. There are going to be touch ups or fixes. Confused on why Alpine Homes has such great reviews as the quality is sub par at best. We have lived in our home less than 3 months and ALL our baseboards look so terrible. When I mop, the water runs up the boards and looks damaged. When I asked why this was happening, I was told it's because they use a low quality MDF board that isn't painted and sealed at the bottom. So you're telling me I just bought a million dollar home and you're using low quality building materials? This is just one example of the disappointing finishes and quality of work done. I am concerned about how things will age and how much we will need to replace sooner than later in our BRAND NEW home. Overall, we are happy we bought our home as we love the area we are in, we are just extremely disappointed in the quality received and the neighborhood agrees. Bathrooms have the lowest grade finishes, there is paint all over the floors because I guess the painter didn't bother to tape the edges when doing touch up work. Luckily most of this can be fixed or improved. One of our big issues with Alpine Homes is the state they left our yard in. They say it was properly graded and we now have to pay over $9k to have a landscaper come in and fix the mess they left it in. There is literally no way our yard was graded correctly which is infuriating as I mentioned we bought what we thought was a million dollar quality home. We went into this process hearing nothing but good things about Alpine Homes and unfortunately we were very mislead. read more

DO NOT BUILD WITH ALPINE HOMES! If I could leave a lower star review I would. We have been negotiating to build a home with Alpine Homes for over a month. During that time, they have surprised us on every turn of the contract with new requirements that were originally presented as "options". They are continually moving the ball so that no compromise can ever possibly made. On the last and final turn of the contract, they required that we spend an additional $75,000 on upgrades before even giving us a chance to visit the Design Center and see for ourselves what upgrades our available. When we asked to compromise on this, they sold the home out from under us to another Buyer as a giant middle finger to us. I cannot believe the lack of professionalism and all around disrespect they have exhibited throughout this process. If you are looking to buy a home from a fair, reasonable Seller, Alpine Homes is not it. Spare yourself the time and headache and go somewhere else! read more

We love the layout of our home, which is why we bought one of their homes, but have had nothing but problems with the quality of the home. We found two holes on the top floor while walking on the carpet. They came and looked at it. They pulled the carpet up, cut into the pad, and revealed two holes in the sub flooring. Instead of replacing the sub flooring, they screwed a metal sheet over the hole. We want to replace the carpet with flooring, but can't in those rooms because there are screws in the way. The flooring throughout our house isn't even. As you walk around the house, it pitches up in many areas due to uneven sub flooring. We brought this up to them and they said that they wouldn't be able to fix it and that it is "acceptable." They also said they would put in our grass. It took them 1 year to finally do it. When they laid the sod, they didn't level out the dirt underneath. There are now pot holes in our grass when you walk around. I asked them to come fix it when it was laid. They said they would come look at it. They never did. I had to call them 3 times within a 3 week period to remind them. By this time, the sod had rooted so you couldn't lift it up to see the uneven dirt with holes everywhere, however, you could still feel the pot holes when walking on it. They finally came out to look at it and said it was "acceptable." They have the lowest standard for what is "acceptable." All of our neighbors have complained of how low quality their homes are. We also have nails from the dry wall popping out throughout our whole house. We won't be building with them in the future. If you chose to, be aware that they may not make things right. read more

I almost bought an Alpine home and I am so glad I did not!! The homes behind me are Alpine homes and the home directly behind me is flooding my backyard. So much to the fact that was have had to dig trenches to keep the flooding at the back of the yard. The trenches fill with water and the water just sits there. I can't put a back yard in because of this. Our neighbor who is flooding us has submitted a warranty because they put in his backyard. They denied it and said it was not his responsibility. Oh, and I am not the only one being flooded. My other neighbor who is also being flooded has reached out to the builder through their model home. And they are not concerned at all. I myself went there today to get a contact person for the builder and they would not give me anything! I called the number listed on their website several times and there was no answer and no return call. DO NOT BUY A HOME FROM THEM!! Once they have your money they will not do anything for you. We purchased the Model home from Alpine Homes two years ago and noticed that our exterior light above our garage never worked after we moved in. So I called in and they said "Don't worry, just mention it at your one year mark home warranty check up" So did exactly that. Alpine Homes then sent out a 3rd party company and the gentleman said, "yeah Alpine needs to replace the wiring etc as it can't be simply fixed". So we never hear from Alpine, I call in soon there after and they said they would take care of it. One year later we have nothing taken care of and about 3-4 months ago I called in wanting it fixed! The main home warranty guy had quit and they got a new guy by the name of Andrew. Andrew apologizes to me, looks me up in the data base, reads to me that I am right and says they will immediately take care of it. 3-4 months later I call Andrew and Skylar answers and tells me that Andrew is not available and that he will call me back tomorrow. Long story short I have followed up everyday after that and Andrew is magically not available each time but Skylar takes 3-4 minutes to check if he is available which leaves me to believe he is asking Andrew if he is available. Long story short, all of my neighbors for warned me of Alpine Homes crappy customer service and they were right! We also got a fence and Alpine wouldn't do anything to help out with their horrible placement of the sprinkler system. BUTTTT.. Flagship homes who our neighbors shares a back fence with me completely replaced their sprinkler system for them to put up the fence?! Alpine Homes has been a horrible experience. I have been selling Real Estate in Utah County for 20 years. I have sold 2000 homes directly in that time with my partner. I have also owned several of the RE/MAX franchises. I have sold a couple homes with Alpine but this 2015 is the first one since 2007 I have worked with them on and clients built it in Vineyard. I can say it seems like they rushed it and things were a little sloppy. All the caulk cracked the paint as they painted it too soon and the caulk was not dry for example. The real warning is this. They force you to use their contract rather than using the state approved form. You are buying a home that will cost hundreds of thousands of dollars. The contract states that the client may not visit the home while it is being built. My clients could have arranged to do that with me and I strongly suggest that if you use these guys you do exactly that. On the home that was built two problems surfaced at the very end. #1 The mudroom in this home should have been large enough to accommodate a washer and dryer sized space. (Or a bunch of lockers) They charge $800 as an upgrade to put a bench and hooks in. The space that they left after running the HVAC chases in the wrong place is only 30 inches wide. My guess is that if the client had ordered that upgrade this would have been done correctly. We had seen 4 different homes that were this exact floor plan. They were all the same. Ours now has a mud hallway rather than a mudroom. And guess what they are going to do about it. Nothing. Well, not nothing... they are careful to point out the clause in the contract that states that they can change the floorpan. I guess this was a "change" rather than a mistake. They also have a swatch book that their design center allows you to pick from with some complimentary color schemes. Well, choosing a house color from a small swatch is potentially troublesome. We ended up with a pink house. We asked why they did not say anything and their remark to that was that no one ever chooses that color. We feel that maybe if that was as unusual as they make it out to be... it would have helped a lot if they had just pointed out that it was unusual. They have a pretty smooth work flow... so smooth it puts us un a position where we have lost all the power. No room to hold them to anything... very little we can do about them screwing up. Fixing these problems or not is totally in their court and while they are totally willing to touch up paint and after a lot of whining they are fixing some of the caulk created issues... they are also totally unwilling to fix their mistake that has eliminated the mudroom from the plan. read more

Alpine homes offered us contracts to purchase 2 homes in West Jordan, UT. Both contracts were at a price of their choosing, and both times they pulled out because they wanted to pursue higher offers. Why did they have us sign their contracts if they were not willing to sell at that price? The second time our agent went out of the way to clarify they were going to sell to us under the terms before the contract was offered. I would not recommend them to anyone. read more

53 minutes ago Don't waste your time or money! Alpine might look great from the outside, but once you get inside, prepare to be ripped off, and disappointed. We've been in our home since the end of June, and it's been one thing after another. To pay nearly a half a million dollars for a brand new home and have it look the way it does is disgusting. This has to be the worst paint job I've ever seen in my life. My toddler could've done a better job. The caulking, or lack of is a huge issue. My whole house has to be repainted and caulked. Banisters, tubs, mantels, shelving, baseboards etc. Anything that would need caulking is now cracking, splitting, and coming apart. We have damaged wood that was painted over instead of replaced, water damage to my baseboards from everyday life because they didn't caulk anything! Loose faucets, and floor trim due to lack of caulking or improper installation. Paint and caulk all over my new carpet, walls and flooring, because they didn't clean up after themselves, or cover things up when finishing. I can't even clean my walls without paint coming off. Anywhere they could cut a corner they did. If you buy with Alpine be prepared to file warranty claims by the dozens. Once you file a claim, if and when their warranty department decides to get back to you...be prepared to be blown off, strung along, or flat out lied to. If you make it that far they will then blame you for it all, and take zero responsibility for anything. They will tell you its not part of your warranty, or pretend they can't see what you're showing them. I have email threads streaming over 4 months of nothing but back and forth. They told me they would fix things in the beginning , and agreed it was horrible quality, and that they were responsible and that repairs were on the way. After weeks of no repairs and me getting fed up and calling them out on it, then they tell me its not part of my warranty, and the damage was my fault. Their warranty department does nothing but lie, patronize, and string you along. The head of the warranty department Andrew, is awful to work with! He's patronizing, snarky, and dishonest. He will tell you what you want to hear, and tell you things will be fixed, and when you try to collect on his word, he will quickly flip flop, lie, and leave you high and dry. Im glad i kept records of all emails, and phone conversations because Andrew would say things in the email promising repairs were on the way, agreeing with me, and then go back on his word saying he never said that, or back peddle and then cherry pick parts of our conversation to let himself off the hook. The lengths Alpine goes to, to blame the customer, or avoid fixing anything is appalling! The customer service Alpine offers is some of the worst I've ever encountered. Alpine offers horrible work, and what's worse is they stand by it. The VP came to my house and just made one excuse after another as to why the poor quality was either my fault, or non existent. We are in a newer subdivision, and on my street alone 5 of my neighbors are just as fed up as we are. We bought new so we didn't have to "fix up" anything. Now I get to spend thousands of dollars to repaint and repair my brand new home. We will also get to re plant our front yard, due to them laying poor quality sod. I wouldn't wish an Alpine homes on my worst enemy....but I'll let some of the pictures speak for themselves. Please look at other reviews and do your research. This is a very real problem, and the complaints are very consistent. Bottom line is they are building too fast, and cutting corners left and right. NEVER buy an Alpine home. We built a brand new home with them and have had nothing but problems. Our basement has flooded since it was built. Getting them to do anything was like pulling teeth. They acted like we had just purchased a lamp, not a home. I had a civil engineer come over and measure that our grading in the backyard was all sloped in to our house causing the flooding. Alpine finally came out and put in a cheap ineffective drain that fixed nothing. I'm left with a mess for a house and a company that won't own it's mistakes. There is still a ton of work to be finished upstairs and they refuse to put plastic on the carpet! My boys have asthma, I have requested plastic and my agent has requested plastic be put down but they still refuse. I will have to get my brand new carpet shampooed before I move in... My husband and I recently bought a home in the Willis Crossing area, in Lehi (late October). We could not be more disappointed with Alpine Homes and highly suggest purchasing a home with a different builder. Not only has our doorbell never worked, we've been unable to keep our screen door on the rails and our water heater doesn't stay on for more than a few days. Our paint looks as if it were done by children, drips, graininess, patchy and altogether missing paint throughout the house. Our walls are paper thin, no insulation between them. There are holes all over the home (walls, doors, frames), chips throughout the staircase and there is paint all over our toilets and bathtubs. After our first review they sent a man out with a single paint brush for touchups, he did not paint over many of the concerns and the places he did paint still look patchy to this day. We bought a home in the arbor estate sub division. And moved in Almost 5 months ago . The house is in a great location and has wonderful floor plans. There are some nice finishes and features. It is terrible that it was poorly built. Alpine built too many houses at one time and is not able to get enough quality workers and subcontractors to build the homes well. Behind the beautiful exterior are all kinds of deficiencies. The real estate agent was great to work with, the project manager is would have been better had Alpine not been pushing all the houses. However, that was not the case and we have a house beautiful to look at house that is deeply flawed, even unsafe. We've been forced to file numerous warranty claims. I will say that I detest the warranty office. Depending on who you speak to I have found them to be condescending, rude, dismissive, apathetic and dishonest. I've come away with the opinion that their overall goal is insist that problems are not problems, push it off so you give up, or fix it yourself. Since moving in we have filed claims because of problems of various magnitude with our carpet, counter, drywall, paint, cement, windows, subfloor, stucco, linoleum, tile, caulk, plumbing, doorbell, door locks, and furnace. Some of the issues have been addressed acceptably while others were "fixed", but still have the same problems. If you're looking at buying an Alpine home and like us are tempted by the location, finishes and nice floorplans, please proceed with utmost caution. Bring your own realtor so you can get a contract that protects you. The real estate agent is great but cannot look out for your interests over Alpine's. Get EVERYTHING in writing. Get the home thoroughly inspected by an outside party. Protect yourself, money and family. Plan on fighting the warranty department to get anything fixed. The paint is of very poor quality. We have had to repaint rather than clean our walls because if you try to clean the walls the paint just rubs off. They didn't bother covering any of the tubs when they sprayed so I have spent months scraping paint off the tub. The caulk is sporadic and poorly applied. Horizontal cracks run throughout my house. They'll send the drywaller once, so I must decide how long I can stand living in a cracking, half-a-million-dollar house because they will not repair additional cracks. The corners of the window is cracked. The stucco is cracked and chipping off. In our basement cracks run the entire width & range from ¼", 1/2",1". Reported per warranty and were told that Alpine would not do anything for the cracks "The most Alpine would do is fill the cracks with caulk Alpine would not do anything else". Our entry walk is unsafe. My toddler fell because of it & cut his face and lip. We have had two different companies come and look at it. Both have said there's no way it's to code & it'll be $1,500 to fix it. Thanks to home depot our fridge water line broke damaging our flooring. The water damage was NOT Alpine's fault When we had to rip up the damaged flooring, we discovered that before the flooring was installed someone had used cardboard and chicken wire set on top of insulation to "fix" holes. At the same time, we also discovered that the subfloor was attached to the joists incorrectly, so the subfloor bends sags when stepped on. When the project manager came to repair the cardboard chicken wire holes, he added screws to worst parts of the plywood, but not all. Because of the subfloor was not installed correctly or repaired adequately despite Alpine putting shims in, it's never truly fixed. The banister is not securely attached to the wall. I brought the fact up to Alpine's warranty person when they came to fix our sub-floor squeaks (The floors went right back to squeaking, many are now worse). At first he tried to blame it on us knocking the banister and pulling it away from the wall, but after measuring and finding the banister entirely level, he changed his argument saying it is just a normal part of the house settling. Either it was never attached properly to the wall or the wall has shifted (Alpine insisted On Jan 3 I was giving my baby a bath. I went to turn the water to the shower head on to wash her hair. The bath faucet came away from the wall hitting my baby who was standing near. She was then shot with pressurized water from the pipe that no longer had a spout. With water in my eyes it took me a minutes to turn the water off. It took Alpine days to get in contact with us. The warranty department first tried to blame it on adjusting the regulator which had not been adjusted. The faucet should not come off even with very high-water pressure. The subcontracted plumbing company didn't contact us to fix the faucet until Jan 14. I refused to let the same plumber who installed the faucet in my house, so the owner came fixed the faucets he assured it's fixed. These are by no mean all the issues. BUYER BEWARE pay attention to the other reviews, go on google and the better business bureau. Those complaints are REAL. I read them all before we moved forward with Alpine homes and thought oh maybe it was just one of "those people" and a freak situation... well now Im on the receiving end. Here's the gist of it all. If their subcontractors screw up, if they frame your house wrong, if they don't finish something, or say they will do/fix something... NOTHING WILL EVER ACTUALLY BE DONE ABOUT IT. Andrew their warranty administrator will do or say anything to make you feel happy and comforted that the house will be "tip top shape" until you sign that line then you might hear from him months later if you complain enough, but he will still deny things and drag it on like alpine never messed up anything. It is extremely dissappointing to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on a home, be so excited notice VERY clear mistakes and have alpine deny them or say well we can send someone out to look at it but if they "claim" its fine they will charge you(the customer). They wont even come inspect something to give you(the customer) peace of mind that something is functioning properly... its all about the bottom dollar and how they can make the most money and expend the least amount. They don't care about the customer, just about getting that house sold and moving onto the next victim. Seriously please please please do your research and see all the complaints and reviews are very similar... because they happen. If your house happens to be built right the first time and you got the "good sub contractors" maybe you wont have to worry but otherwise you're screwed. Good luck read more

I wanted to wait a month or two after moving in before I posted a review. I didn't do much research before going under contract with Alpine, I just really loved their floor plans and the neighborhood. This was the first house I built so I was just hoping for the best after reading some pretty negative reviews. I couldn't be happier with my home and the way that Alpine and their warranty department has treated me. I'm really surprised to read some of the reviews that said their warranty department was terrible. I've had to submit a few minor warranty requests, which is absolutely normal when building a house. The warranty department has been NOTHING BUT GREAT to work with. They are always very responsive, helpful and professional. There was even one request I filed that technically wasn't a warrantable item (I didn't know at the time I sent the request) but they still came out, as a courtesy, and fixed it. Anytime I've filed a claim, they are there the same day or next day to fix it. I had my own agent but had a great experience working with Annelise and Suzette with Alpine. Couldn't have asked for nicer people to work with. They really made me feel like a friend. I would recommend Alpine to anyone. read more

What a great experience we had with Alpine Homes. We had just been released from a contract with another builder who totally screwed up our home so we were feeling a little scarred from that experience when we came across a spec home by Alpine Homes. My previous experience with spec homes is that the finishes are typically builder grade and low cost. Alpine goes above and beyond and includes high end finishes that are modern and beautiful. They are definitely aiming to please their customer. Their employees are exceptional at their job! Rob was very helpful, on top of things and willing to answer all our questions and provide what we needed for a smooth closing. Katlyn was awesome to work with. She made sure all of the remaining clean up items were done prior to closing and we felt like she really wanted us to have a beautiful finished home and that we understood how our Home functions prior to our move in date. I am in the process of selling my home for top dollar and while finishing up the construction my Alpine Home at Abor Estates. I have chatted with neighbors and visted all the local builders. Nothing can compare to this location, price per square foot, floor plan, huge lots and garages. It is easy to buy when you can see what you are getting and have a final price from day one. I have been to the model so may times and Sonia and Pam have been so patience, knowledgeable and really quite amazing in helping us with the process of selling and buiding all at once. The paint-job is a joke, plumbing issues, huge cracks in the foundation, lack of caulking, the list goes on and on. However, worst of all is their customer service. Andrew S., as also has been outlined before, is extremely rude, condescending, and completely unqualified for the job he is supposed to be doing. Buyers beware! Alpine has a lot of nice upgrades and the model homes are beautiful. Alpine does not stand behind their homes and trying to get warranty issues resolved is a joke. Our driveway started crumbling and falling apart within 3 months of us moving in. The supervisor is blaming us for the issue stating that the winter weather caused the breakdown and we should have sealed it. We moved in our home in November who seals their driveway in the winter.? Very hard to do when their is snow on the ground. We are the only driveway with issues and it is clearly an install execution issue. We have asked Andrew the supervisor to call us concerning the issue but he will only communicate via email stating he does not call because calls are only filled with emotions. Alpine also told the home owners that in partnership with their co developers DR. Horton that a retaining wall would be installed for drainage due to the homes being built on a slope. Dr. Horton decided to go another direction for drainage for their home owners so Alpine has now left our home owners to fend for ourselves to figure out the drainage throughout our side of the development. read more

I signed to buy a house with Alpine was told closing would be on the 28th of September. Two days later they tell me that the closing should be on the 10th. I have to push to have it moved back some to get moved. I thought all was well until I informed them I was going with someone other than their preferred lender. Sonia become very rude and communication ceased and I was treated rudely as well as my agent. They moved my closing date a week before closing and just were not nice. I reached out to speak with management and never received a call. I decided I would not be treated that rudely when spending that much on a house. I had to forfeit $2500 to walk away from the house. I would stay away from this company that treats clients like garbage. It was a horrible process and wasted a month of my time. Basically treated like I was lucky to get the house and not ever as a customer paying for a product. If they don't get the lender kickback prepare for a nasty experience. read more

With the many options home buyers have, do NOT buy a home built by Alpine Homes. They have exceptionally POOR communication, they dodge answers, DO NOT RESPOND to concerns and have generally shoddy workmanship. We purchased our Alpine Home on Heron Hills/Saratoga Springs. We love our location and our neighbors but we have NOT had a good home buying experience--particularly in regards to warranty issues. We moved on at the end of January 2018. In early February 2018, our Whirlpool free standing gas range was not working correctly. After two unsuccessful appliance repairs, our appliance is still not working correctly. We had a third repair appointment scheduled but it was cancelled by Alpine Homes warranty person (Andrew) and no repairs were made. Andrew told us we'd be receiving a new range but that was 3+ weeks ago and no new stove.....we've repeatedly called Alpine Homes with NO RESPONSE. It is now mid--August with no working range. This is ridiculous!! I've had to resort to asking neighbors if I can cook/bake using their oven....there's only so much I can do with a crockpot and bbq. We bought a new home and expected we'd be able to use our appliances....not have a range that doesn't work after living in the house for six months! DO NOT BUY AN ALPINE HOME!!!!! read more
