Dr Schmitz is top notch! Very caring and skilled surgeon. Everyone in his office is so caring, from start to finish. Highly recommended!

The MA's were so sweet! They brought me in a little candy to help me feel better and gave me encouragement. Jonathan came in after X-rays, explained everything and offered a shot for my hip. He explained everything as it was happening & went very slow, but when he numbed me instead of expecting a count down of sorts he just exclaimed "done!" Haha I thought that was good. No pain at all and very little anxiety. I'll be going in again soon for my other hip and highly recommended them to anyone who wants friendly, competent, quick service to come here. These guys were great all around, much appreciated.

When I indicated I was in pain and needed to be seen, she shrugged her shoulders and told me to go to the emergency room. Horrible customer service. I'm now going to have to wait weeks to get an appointment with a back specialist with no treatment in the interim. What is the point of having a walk-in clinic for acute injuries if you just turn away patients to the ER? Absolutely ridiculous.

My primary doctor initially wanted to send me to The Spine Team but I asked to go to NW Ortho…read morebecause my husband went there years before and had a generally good experience. I wish I would have followed the initial referral of my doctor, as NW Ortho has either gone way downhill or just don't have the staff to handle all their patients. I was suppose to go to a doctor, Timothy Powers. I never did meet Dr Powers, the the initial appointment I saw a PA. This was ok but he didn't really explain my x-rays or discuss anything else with me. However when I got the second notification for my appointment it was with another P.A. Still no doctor, not even an introduction. I called the office manager and let her know I'd like to discuss my condition with the doctor my appointment was made with (Timothy Powers). She basicallty told me, without any explanation or policy discussion, I was out of luck. So I went in and talked to the second PA who told me I probably had a pinched nerve and needed a MRI. Fine, I go get the MRI that detailed several spine changes, including several bulges and effacement of the cord at one level. When they called me to come back for the results, the appointment is still with the PA. To be clear: I have no issues with PAs, often preferring a PA to the doctor, ONCE CARE IS ESTABLISHED. Frankly, I am still wondering why over the timeframe of 6 weeks, I never saw one doctor. Does Medicare and the insurance still pay the "doctor rate"? It just seems like extremely poor patient service and care with no explanation from the office or the business, I won't be going back! By the way, total patient face time with both PAs was less than 8 minutes per visit.

I'm not at all sure why Dr. Gilmer even practices medicine. He does not have a compassionate bone…read morein his body, he sat there and fidgeted with his reflex hammer for the entirety of the appointment and he seems to have great difficulty sustaining eye contact for any duration of time. He kept going back-and-forth on his possible recommendations for me, even though he said he wouldn't do those procedures himself if it were him, he was all over the place. He comes off as flippant and extremely uncaring. The only exam he did was strength testing and the area of pain was completely covered for the entirety of the appointment, he didn't even look at it. I can't seem to find any positive reviews on this doctor and I wish I would've had time to research him prior to this appointment. I sincerely hope the other doctors at this pain clinic do not treat their patients like they are a second class citizen or a waste of their time. He was not only a waste of my time but a waste of my hard earned money and I have already informed my referring doctor about my experience with Dr. Gilmer. This was essentially my last hope for some pain relief and my hope was to get relief without medications. I guess that's not to be with this guy. FYI: there are some other reviews for a Dr Gilmore. I'm quite certain the writers of the reviews for Dr. Gilmore are meaning Dr. Gilmer. Just keep that in mind if you ever have to schedule at this place. If Dr Gilmer is the only one available, look elsewhere, I promise, you will not be happy with this guy.
