In-grown toe nail care isn't an exact since as I'm discovering. In my previous review I rated my 5 star experience of having TWO procedures at the same time. Dr Crabtree told me then there was a possibility I would need a 'next level' procedure to permanently fix a large toe nail that's growing down, rather than sliding forward. I had the Matricetomy procedure two weeks ago and the follow-up today. The Dr was pleased with the result which was the good news. The not so good news is the 2nd toe is going to need the same procedure. He removed part of the in-grown nail that was causing the pain and said we would need to schedule the next step within six months. This Dr is the best, he is a true pro and is an expert in his field. You can never be too careful when it comes to foot care, especially with in-grown nails and the risk of infection. I'm very pleased to have found Dr Crabtree and his Staff. They provide a high level of care and efficient and professional service. read more

DO NOT COME HERE!!! Money hungry office. They make you pay up front (but dont tell you that until you are checking in) then when they over charge you they act like they cant give you your money back! They give you the run around of "who can help" spoiler alert!! No one helps!!! You are lucky if you get back even half of what they owe you back. They dont care about eobs and wont tell you what charges are for what. I wont be caught dead going back here. DO BETTER. read more

Feb. 2026 I got an appointment through Vet. Affairs to go to Alpine Podiatry in Fort Mill,SC I saw Dr. Paulkivitz, got Xrays and yes I need orthodics, at follow up through the VA April 23 2026 at check in I was told that I need to pay $537.00 up front, that they do not care what insurance you have, no $537, no orthodics. Alpine bills you now , insurance later, the if all goes well you will get a refund. read more

I had an appointment at 9:00 a.m. this morning and arrived 15 min. early. The sign on the door said they open at 8: 00 a.m. i finally called and got in touch with their answering service. The lady stated that the doctor was doing surgery today. Well if that's the truth I would think that they should have called and canceled my appointment. What irks me is that when I left my last appointment there was a lady getting told she couldn't see the doctor because she was late. Ok for them, not ok for the patient. I will find another Podiatrist. read more

Incorrect Diagnosis... Dr. Crabtree diagnosed my toenail with nail dystrophy just by looking at it. I asked if they would perform any tests, but they told me there was no need for that. Instead, they proceeded to remove the nail completely. They also offered to completely kill the nail so it never grows back. Unsure of their opinion, I requested my primary care doctor to schedule me with another podiatrist. The second place I went to performed a test, and it came back positive for Onychomycosis (fungus), which is treatable, and I get to keep my nail. Do NOT TRUST these people if they are offering to kill the nail. My experience with this practice is like a scary movie. read more

ALL THEY CARE ABOUT IS MONEY!!! I make an appt and they tell me they take my insurance. (UHC) I get there and the receptionist says no we don't take your type of insurance. It's UHC but through a different state. She puts me on the phone with their insurance department who says I'm sorry but we don't take your insurance. I said to the receptionist - who was dismissive and rude- and I say I CANT WALK SO I WILL PAY OUT OF POCKET. She was shocked to the say the least. Oh ummm ok well it's going to be around 300 dollars. Ok well what choice do I have?! Dr Crabtree comes in was nice enough. Removed part of the toe nail - ouch ok whatever it's done. I pay the balance. I come home call my insurance and SURPRISE Crabtree is the FIRST doctor listed on my IN network insurance provider. So I call and say I want my money back. Ok no problem we will mail you the part that insurance covered - can you EXPLAIN WHY THEY ARE HOUNDING ME FOR SEVEN DOLLARS?! That's right 6 dollars and change to be exact. Apparently UHC had a deductible of my nail bed and it's SEVEN DOLLARS!!! Never mind I had to deal with a rude receptionist, asking for my money back and waiting to get the money back now THIS!!!! Well the day they get their 7 dollars will be the day there is a tag on my cold toe. DO NOT GO HERE!! read more

Probably one of the most disorganized medical offices I've ever encountered. I went in for care just before the coverage year was set to expire, knowing that my deductible had been met. The front desk was given my Walgreens address, and sent my prescription to CVS. When confronted with the error, they said, "Oh, you wanted Walmart?" "No, Walgreens." "Well, where did it go?" "CVS." "That's not too far, you can just go there." When it came time to invoice insurance, the claim was denied. Turns out the office entered a digit wrong in my date of birth. When confronted, they denied. The billing continued for months, until I finally got on a three way call with Blue Cross and the office. The insurance representative calmly and clearly explained that they just needed to resubmit the claim with my proper date of birth. They never did, and the bill kept reappearing monthly. Astonishingly incompetent. I highly recommend Ryan Foot and Ankle Clinic instead, where I ended up while continuing to receive monthly errant bills from Alpine Podiatry. read more

Although, I dismay writing poor reviews, this one is warranted. Considering our two experiences with Alpine in the past years it was time. Back in July of 2020 I had an emergency toe injury in which Dr. Paukovitz performed my procedure. She did a very good job. At the time of my appointment all my information and paper work was filled out accordingly. Fast forward to just a few weeks ago. I received a call from a collection agency indicating I owed the practice over $800.00. I was floored having never received one bill. Turns out my address was keyed in incorrectly, hence never receiving a bill. When I called the billing office they indicated I needed a referral and that "I should have known" and it is my responsibility. I personally worked in the medical field for 15 years and if a patient needed a referral they were told upfront, first thing. I called the office several times to not only correct my address but to be sure I was removed from the collection agency and to also get an actual bill. Apparently, they did wind up getting a referral but it is not retroactive. Please NOTE, I was never called once to be told I needed this referral, but yet they called my primary to get one, and then tell me it is no good. I was told after several calls I have been removed from the collections agency per the Doctor and the billing admins discussing. This is in effect for 60 days unless I attempt no payment then I go back in. Well of course I plan on paying this bill and am flabbergasted it even led to all this. Today, my husband received a call from the collection agency. I called the office and requested a bill. They are sending one out to me reflecting my right address today, which I indicated was corrected first thing after the collection agency called, because NOW, they show that the bills were sent previously to that address. THEY were not, ever. The secretary then proceeded to tell me that per Dr. Paukovitz "that's the way it goes". In reference to Dr. Crabtree. Very nice Doc with a great sense of humor. Although, not funny when our son back in his teens needed a toe surgery that he performed, and it turns out he wrapped the bandages so tight, my son was up for two nights standing against a wall trying to ease the pain. At that time, we simply thought the pain was all from the surgery but the pain meds were not touching it. At the time we did not know the bandages were so tight and even with the pain meds nothing was helping. Of course, why would it when your circulation is being cut off? When we followed up, finally begging to be seen, and Doc unwrapped my sons foot it was like he saw the day of light. Dr. Crabtrees response was, "wow I really wrapped that well". No apology, no nothing. It was an awful experience. Needless to say, in the future I will happily find another podiatry office if need be. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Paukovitch in the Fort Mill office for several years. My visit on 12/5/23 for nail care was the worst doctor visit i've ever had! I was directed to a room. I walk with a cane and often need help. No one helped me into the chair, shoe removal, etc. and apparently disregarded the fact that I will soon be 80. Doctor hurried through my nail care and left me sitting there; once again, no assistance. When I returned home and removed my shoe, I realized one of my great toes was bleeding profusely. The fact that I am a diabetic and on blood thinners was well known by the doctor. Both of those issues made this incident potentially dangerous to my health. Alpine Podiatry has now lost a long-time patient, and I will be sure that all my family and friends know what they can expect from this doctor. I positively would NOT recommend this medical practice to anyone. Steer clear!! read more

I had fallen down some steps at home and went to a podiatrist in Charlotte's Steele Creek. She xrayed and said there are no broken bones and I had arthritis She could not see where it was broken and said that I should stay off of it and put ice on it. Today, I saw Dr. Paukovitz who was very informative and said I did break some small bones and they have fused together in places. After at least a year, She was the only Podiatrist that saw the breaks. Amazing!! read more

Dr. Catherine Paukovitz and her staff have been great! Both at the Rock Hill and Ft. Mill offices. They are always helpful, and can fit you in to either office with out delay. I have a number of issues with my feet and she has been friendly, informative, helpful and professional. I would recommend her to anyone! read more

This is probably one of the worst experiences I've had with a Dr. office. The Dr I saw was more interested in talking about cars and using big medical words (of which I know the meaning of and how to use them in a sentence correctly). The office staff is untrained in the details of their jobs, and can't answer simple billing questions. They keep dual records, one written and one on the computer but they can't get access to either quickly to answer you. I spoke with another Dr there that is in charge of the staff and billing and all she did was blame the patients and the general "non medical public" saying that "...if YOU PEOPLE only knew how hard this job is you would be much nicer to us" Sorry sweetheart but I don't complain about my job to you or anyone else, you chose to do what you do for a living. I will not be going back and I encourage you to not visit either.l! read more
