Make sure your wheel size match's what's on your door sticker. They seem to think the wheel (not tire size) makes a difference in speed. I tried to bring in my Tacoma. My sticker in the door panel said I was suppose to have a 15" wheel and wouldn't do the smog because I had a 17" wheel with stock tire size. Shop advertises that if your car does not pass smog you do not pay. However the man that works there will get irrationally angry for you bringing it back if it doesn't pass the first time. Our car was running a code, we took it into another shop got it fixed and brought it back to Alpine smog. It ran the code again, Danny told us to drive 200 miles and gave us a piece of paper. He told us the paper was for if we got pulled over. Well we did get pulled over and the officer explained to us that not only did Danny lie about what the paper was for he didn't even bother to fill it out completely. We brought it back to alpine smog again after a second trip to an auto shop and we were told to drive even more and come back. We came back the forth time, as soon as we pulled in Danny threw his hands in the air, was shaking his head and screaming at us. Told us this was the last time we were be allowed to come to his shop because we are taking advantage of his offer of not paying if you don't pass. I told him if he did not want to run the code read on the car he did not have to we would go somewhere else and that I had no issue paying for the three other times that he took 5 seconds to connect a code reader to the car. I informed him of what the officer said and that set him off. For the next ten minutes he screamed and yelled. He accused us of clearing the check engine light, however he was the one that cleared the check engine light Friday when we came in. Had he asked for payment for the times we came in, I would have had no issue paying because we did come in multiple times. However he never asked and never accepted any offers for payment for the few seconds he spent on my car each time. He is terribly disrespectful especially to women, very lazy, and is clearly upset about the deals his shop offers. Sadly after many years of my entire family bringing him business, we will never come to his shop again. read more

I want to give a huge shoutout to Danny for his patience and kindness. I went to get my registration and smog inspection last week and showed up right before closing hours and he still took me in. Unfortunately due to disconnecting my battery prior to showing up, my car had no data on the computer. Danny let me know to drive and build data and he would see me again. I drove some more and came back the next day, so Danny took me back and checked my car. Still had the same issue but he advised me to drive some more and did not charge me for showing up again. I drove some more and came back the third time and was able to pass smog and get my registration. Danny was very helpful and kind even though I came in twice and couldn't get a smog inspection but he still saw me. Great customer service and it's a one stop shop to get everything knocked out. Rented a 15' uhaul truck and 2 dollies from this smog shop. Was moving from lakeside and wanted something local to help move with. They have diff options available for dollies and trucks. Only a few though. I would recommend booking early if you are using for the weekend bc since they have limited options I assume they are mostly booked. Had no issues when I arrived due to me booking it online which was much easier. The guy there has his daughter working at the counter. She was knowledgeable on what I needed and helped the process run smooth. Was able to return the uhaul at another location which was very convenient. Horrible place. Sent a car here to get smoged and the decided to continuously Rev the motor while not monitoring the engine temperature. They overheated the car to the point of it shutting off. Then could enter get it to read start. So they pushed it outside. Gave back the keys and told us our car can't pass smog because it's junk.
