He asked what type of car I had and said he would fit me in with no problem. So I settled down and opened up Netflix, thinking it would be a while. Nice guy. Must have good Karma. I brought in a 1987 older model that was sure to fail. I've never had any luck passing smogs the first time through. It passed everything except the gas cap inspection. Some people will "fail" you for just that and you have to re-smog. He directed me to the nearest auto parts store to purchase a new gas cap. It was the dreaded SMOG certification time for my truck. Luckily, I happened to discover a local Smog Center to get my diesel truck certified at for a reasonable price and with friendly service. Not only was the price a deal, but the whole experience was painless and pleasant, unlike the forever wait, big expense, and feeling like just a number when going to the Dodge dealership. This was my first time going to Paul's. I called up and was greeted by a friendly, kind sounding man that was happy to provide any information I needed, come to find out it was Paul himself. I didn't schedule an appointment right away because I planned to get info from a few places around town first. After calling about four other Smog Centers, I discovered a few things: prices vary, I could't understand the heavy accents from a couple of the places, and I felt like an inconvenience and rushed as if I was a bother requesting just prices & times they're available. That was my determining factor to choose Paul's, the price was reasonable and we even had a laugh and pleasant information exchange on the phone. I told my husband, we could go to these other places, but I'd choose Paul's first...Sure glad I did. I called back up the next day and made an appointment. Arrived to the appointment about 10 minutes early and was greeted in the office by a smiling and friendly gal named Suzy. She checked my car in and said it shouldn't take long. I jokingly asked if I had time to walk to 7-11 next door real quick. She smiled and said she'd have my paperwork ready by the time I got back. Within the next few minutes, less than I expected, my vehicle was smogged, certified, and ready to go. I highly recommend Paul's to everyone. had to get my car "star station" smogged. when i took my grandma here to get her very old car smogged he was so helpful that i decided to take mine in later that week. i made an appointment and it was so fast. i was so relieved. it seems whenever i need to get a car smogged it takes forever even with an appointment. so having it done so fast with 2 kids in tow was just wonderful. the lady at the desk was super nice, and so was paul who poked his head in as soon as the test was done to let me know all went well. and much less $ then i expected for this new "star" requirement. read more
