Then soon after, one worker came out from back and asked her to help the person on the phone, and she took the tablet to continue filling out the form for me. I went there thinking it was an emergency. I had one appointment and was scheduled to come back for a follow up. I was 15 minutes late and was told that I was late and no more appointments were available. In the interum, I was advised by the Eye Institute office and given a name for yet a different "tribal" doctor who repeated all the exact same duplicious tests as the Eye Institute and billed for the exact same tests which costed an equal duplicious payment for the same exam! The cortisone treatment was misperscribed and I continued to suffer in pain. I returned to my original Eye professional (not previously mentioned) who immediately sent me to their specialist, Advanced Eye Care. This medical office healed the issue. Being it was serious I was immediately placed on an extended predisone treatment with several follow up visits for months. I felt a bit scammed being passed around as a cash cow only to be milked for every possible nickel with no results. Obviously the bottom line was money as the main objective.

On the United Healthcare website, LensCrafters and one of the doctors from this practice are listed as in-network. I proceeded to book my appointment on the LensCrafters website and arrived on time. The LensCrafters staff directed me to the office where the doctor conducted my eye exam and contact lens fitting. The entire process was smooth. However, upon reaching the front desk to pay my deductible, I was informed that my insurance was not in-network. This was surprising, as before my appointment, the guys that I checked in with had asked if I had any questions and I asked is United Healthcare Vision accepted and he said yes. I presented him with a printout of my insurance policy, which clearly stated that contact lens fitting was covered for in-network providers. Despite this, the staff refused to bill my insurance, claiming that it did not cover contact lens fitting. Consequently, I had to pay for the service myself, even though my policy explicitly states that it covers contact lens fitting for in-network providers. I strongly advise against visiting this provider. They need to update the portal on the United Healthcare website and remove this provider if it's not in network, although it says it is.

"I've done thousands of them" is what I bought into; for thousands of nonrefundable dollars per eye. Wrong lenses were put in after a 5 plus hour wait on a hospital operating table. How does this happen? The Doctors ability to perform this operation and to identify the wrong lenses immediately were his responsibility. The circumstances were poor at best and the results a disaster. The follow up visit was equally poor. He was less than professional. He told me the office was very busy with multiple competing demands, and a personal family loss distracted him during my consultation. So, he overlooked the fact that I now have to wear glasses fulltime for the rest of my life. At the cost of thousands of dollars.
