Lots of chocolates and sweets to choose from. The chocolate tasted like Hersheys, nothing to write home about. Plenty of fun gifts for loved ones. Seems like they have a lot of seasonal options. There was a lot of Easter chocolate/sweets on sale, as it was a couple weeks later. Only giving 3 stars because the woman there was rude and seemed to not want to be bothered with us. It seems she does not like to make money... instead of offering another box or a larger box, she was short and told us we were running out of room. Was just here on Monday, July 1st last week. Everything I purchased was so good. And the young lady that helped my friends and are was SUPERB. Stopped in randomly for a chocolate craving. There were some other customers but not busy. Three workers were there and they greeted us while they were busy with other tasks. Bought a selection of truffles for a snack- the tiramisu truffle was yum. The boss/manager seems to be a bully to her staff and treated us with rudeness. I recommended she not help customers as we had a good experience until she came to "help". Would def go to other chocolate shop nearby next time based off the vibe the boss gave. read more

So great! We came on a Wednesday morning and had the shop to ourselves. We tried a variety of their fresh chocolates in the case and everything was high quality, artisanal, and delicious. My favorite was the honeycomb chocolate and my husband's favorite was the chocolate peanut butter cup. Service was very friendly and you can tell they take pride in their family owned business. A really nice place that we would love to visit again next time we are in Beacon. read more

I love Alps! I went to college in the area and always went to Alps! They make delicious chocolates! It's so good that I even order it for special occasions as I now live out of state! Some of my favorite treats are: dark chocolate peanut butter cups, chocolate covered pretzels, and almond butter crunch! Love this little shop right in the middle of Main Street! It's super local and you can tell everything it made with love. I've tried a bunch of the truffles and my favorite is the "ultimate peanut butter." It's not actually as peanut buttery as you may think but it was super smooth and creamy. My second favorite was the hazelnut truffle block. I believe it was called the Figura. Also extremely smooth yet not super hazelnutty. I typically have no issues with overpowering peanut butter/hazelnut flavors so it's odd that I also loved that it wasn't. I guess that's how you know the chocolate here is good! Definitely a must when you're in Beacon! read more

The chocolates were super delicious. Loved the almond turtles and honeycombs. Shout out to Victoria who was super helpful in picking out the perfect gifts for family that is super ingredient conscious. She was also very kind and friendly. We also appreciate that she was wearing her mask and using sanitizer when handling items. Overall a lovely shopping experience. Will visit again. read more

I've been coming here literally for decades. The chocolate is always delicious. I did notice last week that the store was empty of all of the variety of chocolate items that they always used to carry along the outer walls. I was very disappointed. Has this place changed ownership? It does not look the same inside as it has in the past - so much less to choose from and it seemed so empty by comparison. Perhaps it is a sign of the times - everyone scaling back. I found it disappointing. This place is a landmark, I hope it will continue to be around with the same quality chocolates as they have had in the past. read more

My sister and I was prepared to drop some serious money in this store as we love chocolate and anything artisanal, but that changed when we delt with the shop keeper. I found her to be rude and I didn't like how she was talking to us. She wanted to throw the chocolates we were buying into a little glassine bag and when I asked for a little box because it was a gift she said we weren't spending enough to get a box. Meanwhile I'm seeing small candy gift box sets all over the store for $6 and we were buying chocolates that is $28.99 lb. I decided to buy that one set and that's it. I won't be back. read more

I would rate 0 stars if it were possible. I walked over to the shop as it was one of the few chocolate options in town, looked around, picked up two bars to take to the register and was asked not to hold the chocolate for fear I would melt it. The customer service in this place is horrible and not worth the average chocolate. Avoid. read more

This is possibly the best chocolate shop I have been to in my life. I am the type of person who can't help but go into a chocolate shop if I see one, and often times I am left disappointed. Stopped in a few days ago and noticed they make their chocolates there, already a good sign. Got home later and tried the peanut butter cups which made me wish I had these all those countless times I stuffed Reece's in my mouth. The chocolate dribbles were also to die for (melty caramel covered with chocolate) and my girlfriend loved her chocolate covered banana chips. I will be back soon! read more

I just left Alps sweet shop and my first impression was "NO" bathrooms, to go along with no chocolate fudge, no bark and in general no friendly service. The list of "NO'S" is on both sides of the front door and continues in the shop and is very off-putting , when you are from Maine with every little village has a friendly candy or fudge shop. Wow, just wow. I discovered this place because, well, my husband and my family-in-law live in Beacon, and every Christmas and Easter, I am greeted by wonderful treats from this store. The one thing I started forming an addiction to is chocolate covered oreos, and theirs is the bomb (a good thing). They also have various other chocolate covered delicacies, my brother-in-law got chocolate-covered pretzel bites and they were also amazeballs. The shop hasn't upgraded their outside signage to keep up with the businesses that are burgeoning on Main Street, but hey, their stuff is THAT good that their products will speak for itself. My boyfriend and I visited Beacon and stumbled upon this shop. This place has been around 100 years and every single treat we purchased was more delicious than the one before! The marshmallows, the fudge, everything. But the best part of all is the staff - the women behind the counter were so gracious and generous. You could just tell how proud they were to be a part of the family business. I wish I could remember their names, but we remember they've both worked there over 30 years! HIGHLY RECOMMEND. read more

I love chocolate! A friend told me about her experience at Alps, so the next day I walked from the Roundhouse Hotel, down Main St to Alps. We I entered the shop, there were so many choices. I prefer dark chocolate so I picked four different types of truffles. They were fantastic!! My favorite was the dark chocolate truffle with sea salt. I strongly believe that providers in this arena should have integrity as well genuine concern and compassion for their customers. Harish has shown nothing but a complete and utter lack of respect or even regard for this role by blatantly lying to me about an order I recently placed and then "going into silence" (blocking my call) when the truth came to light. Harish's deceitfulness and lack of integrity is exaggerated in its shamefulness due to the field and context in which he does his work. Here the basic details of what happened: I ordered a 7 day meal kit on Monday, March 4th to supplement the 28 day kit I received a week prior. As he knew I was doing back-to-back cleanses (I discussed this with him before ordering my first 28 meal kit), Harish reached out to me on my personal cell phone to encourage me to purchase another 28 meal kit (instead of 7)because it is a better value for the money. I agreed to the up-sell. The kit was supposed to be delivered by Friday, March 8th. When I still had not received the kit on Sunday, March 10th, I reached out to Harish to see what was going on. At this time, he informed that he was actually out of the ingredients for the kit when I ordered it (from him, personally), but that he dropped it off at Staples on Friday and would arrive by Tuesday, March 12th. When the kit did not arrive on Tuesday, I reached out to him requesting the tracking info. The response I got was from someone saying that Harish had gone into silence and was not receiving or responding to messages - this was during business hours on a weekday. Convenient. This person did send me the tracking info today, Wednesday, which shows unequivocally that Harish did not even create the shipping label until after I spoke to him Sunday evening when he told me it was shipped out on Friday, which was a bold-faced lie. I come to find out the reason that the reason he did not send my kit on time is because he is out of one of the accompanying ingredients. Harish failed to mention this when I placed the order, however, and it was advertised on his website as being in stock. To add insult to injury, Harish thought it relevant to ensure me that the kit was shown as out of stock on Amazon as well. I don't know why he even brought that up, but it would be one more thing that would come back to him because what Harish did not know was that I almost purchased the kit from Amazon the day I purchased it from him - specifically because of the guaranteed delivery - and opted to order from him directly instead in order to give him my loyalty/patronage (BIG MISTAKE). This lie about Amazon was completely unnecessary, and he would have gotten away with it, but I suppose it was his karma to be fully exposed as an incompetent businessperson at best and a dishonest and deceitful one at worst. The most disappointing thing is that when I brought all of this to Harish's attention, he was very nonchalant and unapologetic, simply saying he was out of the Haritake tea, and I would just have to wait. He could care less that my cleanse was disrupted because of his dishonesty and negligence, which was made clear by the fact he did not even have enough respect for me or his business to just tell me what was going on. My guess is that he knew I would order the ingredients from another place if I knew I was going to have to wait for two weeks to get it from him, and so he lied in order to keep the business. There is even more to this story, but I have already gone on too long. I sincerely hope that Harish learns from this and treats his customers with much more integrity, respect and honesty in the future.

If you're a plant lover or just want to buy some flowers for a friend or loved one this is the spot to go to. They do custom arrangements for you and you can pick what you would like from their little selection. Also, make sure to choose them for your wedding bouquets and arrangements. They take care of that too! Succulents, airplants and more are also there for you to take home. They even sell the little hanging glass bulbs for you to customize your succulent arrangements. Love this little place and all it's flower power!
