We had been to big-box stores and other large tile stores but left without tile and more design confusion. A friend recommended Mid-America Tile in Romeoville -- so off we went one Saturday. We walked into a bright attractive store with lots of bathroom sample displays and options. The sales guy John was great. He walked us through each room that needed tile and gave expert suggestions for combinaitons (floor tile, shower wall etc). He asked great questions and made the desicion making process effortless. He was not pushy and approached it from a design perspective. He spent a long time with us answering a ton of questions -- but we finally got it all done. I would highly recommend Mid-America Tile in Romeoville.

Bad service. Went into the showroom at noon on a saturday. Store closed at 1 but I knew exactly…read morewhat I needed to purchase. Should have been a 10 minute transaction. Had to wait an hour to talk to a sales person. By the time I was finally able to speak w someone in sales, I was basically told to hurry up, we're closing. After all that, had to pick up my tile at elk grove store. Was told that my order was ready to pick up. Showed up at agreed upon time and was told my order wasn't ready. We had to wait while they picked the order. An hour of waiting. When the order was finally picked, there were two different lots of tile with badly matched colors. They had to withhold the order and go back to the manufacturer for more of one lot. When we went back two days later for the remainder of the tile, they could not find my paperwork. Fortunately, we had our copy to show them what we had purchased. So sloppy start to finish. All of this said, I would be a lot more forgiving about the experience had they responded to my email expressing my frustration with their sloppy handling of my order. I got no response whatsoever. Is customer service a thing of the past? Sad to say but it seems like it is just a fond memory for so many business. Next time I need tile, i will shop elsewhere.
