This is for the Gresham Al's store. Spent almost $100 on spring flowers for my various planters. The Heliatrope of which I bought 3 plants totaling $27 ALL died within 3-4 days. Provided Miracle Grow dirt and watered lightly and each day the leaves became more limp while flower portion dried up to the point all 3 needed cutting back to perhaps save what appeared to be healthy root systems. May as well have lit $30 on fire! Will never go back again. read more

I was overcharged for my purchase. I live a long way from Al's and made a special trip to get this plant. It will cost me more in fuel to get my partial refund than the actual refund amount. I should have checked my receipt. Buyer beware. Check your receipt before you leave there. read more

Stopped by to get the $1.99 pumpkins I was told about and they ended up being on sale for 99 cents! They even have a wash station to clean the mud off the pumpkins! Friendly employees. read more

We don't have much of a yard, but we do like all the events in the past Al's has held. They always have fun event and DIY days, and most of all we always get early season pumpkins here. We try to hit a farm closer to Nov so that it feels more Halloween ish. This is a great place early October to get massive fresh pumpkin for 2 bucks a pop. We are avid gardeners. Traveling through Portland, my car careened off the road when it saw this garden center. We have been to more than 50 in our lives, and Al's is our favorite. Excellent variety of well grown and maintained plants, nice accessories and good prices. Plants are categorized in a logical way. My only regret is that we live too far to go again. read more

Never been to an "AL's Garden" center but went Saturday. Our yard is small so we didn't get a whole bunch of stuff but the business looks very well stocked and organized. An associate named Faerin was very helpful & professional assisting us to pick out plants for a small place after we described what we want to do. read more

Al's is really the best. We went there today for a Christmas tree. We have a small sports car and alerted them that we didn't have much room. They told us that they would wrap the tree in plastic to make it fit in our trunk. After getting the tree wrapped and waking it to our car, they tried to fit it in, with no luck. They turned the tree around, being careful with the branches and fit it in as far as it would go. They then offered some twine to close the trunk as much as possible. Not only was the service phenomenal, but the selection of trees was impressive. They had their trees in pots of water to keep them fresh. We haven't seen other nurseries do that. They take great care of their products and their customers. A+ for Al's Garden Center. read more

They have an amazing selection of beautiful flower and plants. They were the only place I could find aloe plants in the area. The lady at the register was nice and personable. From what I saw they were a little more expensive than the other places I have been but definitely worth it. read more

Wow! The customer service, specific shout out to Lyla, was so amazing!!! She outfitted our entire front house with all kinds of shrubs, trees and flowers. I have a black thumb and our front yard gets too much sun and wind. She made sure everything works within our limitations. I went to 5 other gardening places and Al's has the best customer service and prices. I never sign up for rewards clubs but I know I'll be coming back and may even turn my black thumb into a green one. read more

Very cute nursery. They are very overpriced and make you rely on coupons and special customer discounts to have access to competitive prices. Their customer service was superb. Their selection was also amazing. If I had loads of money to spend think I'd give another star but value is very important to me and I feel like they charge too much to get 4 stars. As a novice gardener, I have no luck with keeping green things alive. Al's Garden has an amazing selection, great service, and hours. They are always willing to offer advice and support. They also have classes to help people like me learn how to do all sorts of basic planting, etc. Love supporting this local business. read more

The website is totally lacking and right now doesn't seem to work. Can't look up anything . They don't advertise much so unless you want to write yourself a note to look at their website once in a while to see what is going on, shop elsewhere. Prices are marginally higher on some items, small stuff usually. I've compared prices between here, Portland Nursery, and Tony's and they're all within a few dollars of each other when you're looking at the pricier items. For instance, I shopped around for Bloomerang Lilac bush, Portland was 24.99, Tony's was 29.99, and Al's was 29.99 as well, HOWEVER, they had a smaller container size of the same plant for 14.99. And it was much better quality than the ones I saw elsewhere. I frequently visit Al's, Tony's, and Lowes, (I would frequent Portland Nursery regularly too, but it's a little far) I like them all, they each have their upsides. Al's does have some good sales, and the Al's dollars. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful. I had a gal help me pick out a handful of plants to put in a couple hanging baskets I was putting together and I really didn't give her much to go on suggestion wise, but she was very patient and had great suggestions, which lead me to six plants that I'm very happy with. Plants I probably never would have even looked at. So I appreciate that kind of service. The nursery is organized pretty well also, easy to navigate and find stuff typically without having to ask for 'directions'. Most things are clearly labeled and priced as well. I've bought a LOT of plants from here, and I've always had good results, no plant deaths (regardless of my inexperience even!), in fact some of my most favorite plants have come from Al's. They also have a pretty decent sized selection of non-living stock. Though I don't browse that section much as I'm prone to impulse buying. I have a hard enough time walking away without buying ten more plants than I need, all that yard decor and pottery would be too much. And if I remember correctly, they guarantee their perennials and shrubs, maybe trees too, for a year with receipt. Though I've never needed to use that. Good quality plants. I love coming here, it's not as big as some of the other nurseries, but they still have a really good selection. And nice staff. read more

Great place to visit, nothing extremely exotic but they still have a great selection.

We were looking for a native flower vine to grow in our yard. I didn't want to pay the shipping from an online store and so called all around town without success. One company said that Al's might either have it or would be able to direct us to a place that should. In other words, this was the place to go. Sure enough, it was! I called and was told the flower vine was in stock. It was reasonably priced and just 15 mins from our home. The best part of my shopping experience was the customer service. They treated us like family. From the gentleman that greeted me on the phone to the lady that rang in our items. We will definitely go back! read more
