Since then, it's been a nightmare. Our unit has ongoing mold issues that were only painted over, not fixed. The environment here is loud, chaotic, and unsafe, with constant police presence and neighbors who scream, physically fight, and blast music at all hours. I've never had to call the police this many times in my life. We've felt anxious, unsafe, and honestly deceived. This is not a place for young professionals.

Unfortunately, a day before we even moved in, the neighbor downstairs (in 82A) approached us in a very rude manner about a family renting upstairs. Once we moved in, we tried to establish a positive relationship with her she continued with her rudeness as well as progressed to harassment and threats. She also feeds strays which produced more strays and a lot of noise and shuffling outside in the bushes. Not only that, but the constant smell from the rotting food left behind and the cat urine itself travels up in the air and it enters the bedroom through the apartment window and the ac unit. After speaking countless times from November 2025 to May 2026 (I have documentation to prove this) and even reaching out to corporate Management didn't do anything. We spoke to SPD and were told only management could be of assistance. We were even informed by other neighbors across the building that this individual has done this to multiple families and individuals with children and/or dogs. Dave, a maintenance worker, also informed me that this is an ongoing issue and said to keep pressing management. Unfortunately, they were no help and I'm speaking about Tamara and Nicole. The only helpful individual was Lauren who unfortunately isn't there anymore. She weaponizes CPS to push you to switch apartments if you have kids (I've spoken to previous families who have lived there) she calls the cops even if you're cleaning and moving around in your apartment because over all she is a confrontational person. She even made statements like "you're lucky I got rid of my gun before moving in here" and "I hope your little bastard breaks his neck". She is just a terrible human being. Management won't do anything about any neighbor issues that you may have unless it's something that can bring money in with fines. My mother and I had the most horrific experience here!!!…read moreWhen we first arrived, the dishwasher flooded all over the kitchen and we were never able to use it after that, there was a massive blockage in our sink, we had to deal with severe harassment from a mentally ill women living above us, who we sent in multiple complaints about and Fairfield never did anything (she was harassing other neighbors as well), our refrigerator had a factory defect and since maintenance wouldn't fix it, we had to call Whirlpool ourselves, our washer and drier didn't work properly. Our washer was over 20 years old and the motor wasn't even being manufactured anymore, so we had to wait months for a new one that also didn't work properly. We had a carbon monoxide leak from our drier which maintenance ignored and we found out about the carbon monoxide leak from a GE repairman, our oven had a strong chemical odor and never worked properly and it was never replaced, so we were never able to use it to cook, for the entire time we lived there, we had serious issues with bugs, etc. My mother and I didn't resign the lease because we wanted to get the heck out of there!!!! So they allowed us to have lease extensions for several months but then started fining us $1,500 extra a month even though we were injured in a car accident and I had broken my foot, amongst other medical issues, which we provided medical documentation for, that set back our ability to look for other apartments. We always paid rent on time, just not the extra $1,500 fine, even though there were endless, serious problems. They threatened to evict us, because we refused to pay the fines (being that we were having so many serious issues and the apartment was essentially uninhabitable), causing psychological distress for my mother and I. We were told that if we left by a certain date, which we frantically did and made sure to leave the apartment in pristine condition, that they wouldn't evict us and they'd drop the fines. Of course, we never got our security deposit back (look into the lawsuit where they scammed hundreds of tenants out of their security deposits and you'll see how unscrupulous they are). Now, over 8 months later, their lawyers are coming after my mother, an elderly lady in her 80s with health issues, who never had a single legal issue in her entire life, for $16,856!!!!! Fairfield is pure evil!!! They're psychopathic, predatory, corporate bullies!!!!! They will even bully innocent senior citizens!!!!! STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS!!!! Tenants don't clean up after dogs even though bags are provided 5. Section 8 housing, which causes increased police presence due to fighting and drugs 7. Maintenance team is nasty and rude. They will come say nothing is wrong and then you have to put a new request in for them to come 8. Front desk- if they even show up, they are rude and unhelpful 9. People don't park in assigned parking spots and will block you in- due to lack of respect from managers, nothing is done 10. Want your deposit back? Not happening even if you leave the place spotless 11. Flies coming up from sinks 12. Paper thin walls so you can hear the drug deals! 13. There is no accountability for who stays in apartments. My puppy was outside on a leash being walked and a man who was "staying there once every couple of weeks" let his pitbull out of the front door without a leash and it attacked my dog. When confronted, he states he wasn't on the lease, and his dog hasn't been registered or vaccinated. Multiple formal complaints were given to Fairfield and nothing was done. We had to seek potential legal action towards this man for anything to be done. Management doesn't care who or what stays there as long as you pay. So many people work hard to pay for their apartments and pay extra to have a dog and then you have this freeloader with his dog living rent free attacking other dogs and people. 14. Drug deals made right outside your apartments 15. The faucets leak and the toilet constantly runs. When asked about it, maintenance says "eh it's just one of those things". But don't worry, you'll get charged for it when you move out! 16. Renovations took forever, but having dirty rusty nails in the parking lot, sidewalks and stoops is unsafe. These are the majors, there are minor issues that could be dealt with but listed above are non-negotiable issues. Unfortunately nothing will ever be done and it will always be the biggest scam. I understand living on LI is expensive, and it's par for the course but for what you pay, you get nothing but headaches and trash. I'd rather live in my car. I often wondered if they were hiring, I'd love a job where I can do absolutely nothing, be nasty, and do a terrible job and still get paid!
