Our help fell through on 7am Sunday morning and we knew we needed extra hands especially for the heavy stuff. Alex, hears us out, of course already booked with repeat clients and if you saw him/them move you would completely understand why. But he tells us if we can wait for him to finish his 2 moves, him and a friend will come help us out around 2 something. Ok. So we do what we can until they arrive. 2:30pm comes and to his word, Alex and Hugo show up. So Nice- and think about it- up early, 2 moves, end of July almost 100 degrees, with crazy humidity- and they were NICE! AND Showed up ready to get going! They wasted no time! Immediately they assessed the state of things with us, asked all the right questions and got right to work. I mean this when I say it, you get your money's worth & more! They can definitely charge more but I'm grateful they charged fair. They are quick, clean, skilled & professional as they worked together in such a fluid impressive way. They were PATIENT as I made requests and gave directions. They were kind, understanding, funny and compassionate. Easy to get ahold of and responsive. When I needed to know someone had our back, he answered texts in real time giving us the peace mind that we needed. After four years in New York, I'm finally relocating back to Southern California. I decided to go with a portable moving container and needed to hire movers exclusively to move my stuff into the pod. I called around and got a bunch of quotes, and Strong Island Moving was the most responsive and most fairly priced. I live in the basement down a flight of narrow stairs. I own a big 400-pound slot machine off the floor of a Vegas casino. The guys from Strong Island Moving didn't let any of this phase them. They somehow carried that slot machine up those stairs and into the pod without problem. They also made quick work of the rest of the furniture and the 25 heavy moving boxes. Both the guys, Alex and Ben (I think his name was Ben? Sorry if it's not), worked extremely hard and did a wonderful job packing up the pod. In the end, they packed it up so tightly that I only needed half the pod. I have no idea how they got it all so perfectly packed, but taking one look at the finished product assured me there was no way anything was going to shift in transit. They did in just over an hour what I thought would take two full hours. In the time I took me to figure out how to pack a flat screen TV into a box, they had moved essentially an entire apartment's worth of stuff up a flight of stairs and into the pod. The co-workers were nice but, Alex was a bully to me on what to take and not to take. He knew to get a big truck with more people a month and a half prior and came with a small truck. He knew about moving the piano and left that and a lot of furniture behind. I am missing also a lot of things that should have been delivered to me and went on the truck including my father's tools & cabinet, my Disney cabinet with DVD's, my new boxed exercise bike, my coats and got the bags of junk instead of the good clothes. I was promised he would come back and finish the next day and he was called by me and the new owners to come back and never responded. Because of this I had to hire a new mover and lost 99% of my things because the new owners are doing a flip and trashed a lot of my things even boxed. I lost family photos and important papers that were boxed and so much more. I have just street clothes & 2 pairs of shoes. I have to buy everything and alot cannot be replaced. The 1 tv brought over was busted so I even have no tv's. I would not even give them a star. So hurt right now and disappointed. read more

Had a full house move from long beach all the way out to Setauket. They somehow fit 5 bedrooms as well as the rest of the house worth of furniture into a 24 foot truck and moved it all in one trip without damaging a thing. Took special care with fragile items and wrapped everything. Very respectful of the house I was leaving as well as the one I was moving into.
