They have a great selection and if you don't see the size you need, they are a store-room up stairs where they have a lot of the dresses in other sizes. Unlike other wedding dress shops, they understand that all brides may not want a white dress so they have lots of dresses in different colours. I also went to this shop when my best friend was looking for her wedding dress and we received the same great service.

When I went to get my wedding dress about a year ago I went straight here and after a couple of hours of trying on lots of different dresses found the perfect one! Their staff are very patient and helpful and put me under no pressure to buy anything which I particularly liked after taking up their time for a couple of hours! Once I ordered and received my dress they carried out all the alterations for me for a very reasonable price and the finish after the dress had been taken up was perfect, after all you are trusting someone with the most expensive item you'll probably buy and wear! They also cleaned and boxed the dress for me (for a small fee) after the wedding. I would absolutely recommend them to any bride to be!

I went to Renaissance Couture, Maidstone to buy a wedding dress. I ordered a wrap as well which I…read morethought I would use to make some alterations to the dress. Both arrived and were fine. So I ordered another wrap to actually use as a wrap. There were ten weeks between when I placed the order and when our wedding would be. I placed the order for the wrap by phone in July. I was assured that there would be no problem, so they took my money and I started chasing them a couple of weeks later to check my wrap order was still ok and to find out whether they had posted out the receipt (which they had said they would do. I hadn't received it). They don't respond to email. They don't pick up the phone. I was leaving messages with staff for the proprietress to call me, as well as leaving messages after a beep on their phone hoping it was an answerphone. It wasn't. I was told 'we don't even have an answerphone so why were you leaving messages?' They finally phoned two weeks before my wedding with the kind of sulky 'not my fault' attitude I associate with teenagers. They couldn't get a wrap. They don't care. I went to the shop to collect my dress and the first wrap only to find they had UNPICKED THE SEAMS without me having had a formal fitting, and knowing they couldn't procure a wrap for me. I am disgusted that they care so little for the impact their behaviour will have on people's once in a lifetime occasions. There are a handful of bridal shops in Maidstone. I would advise customers strongly to try any of them apart from this one.

My parents where due to get married on the 28th of December 2008 and they went down to Renaissance Couture a few months before the wedding to choose their wedding dress, brides maid dress and suits. During this part they seamed to know what they where doing however on arrival of my dads suit it became obvious that it had not been dry cleaned as there was a speech still in the inside pocket of his blazer as well as a dirty foot print on his cream waist coat. After taking the suit back down to the store they was determined that it was dry cleaned until we pulled the speech out of the pocket. This all happened Christmas eve of 2008 four days before the actual day. Once the suit was dry cleaned the owner of the store refused to have the clean suit delivered to our address but after some persuasion she had the suit delivered. All this put so much stress on our family and nearly ruined my parent's day. If all this wasn't enough after a brilliant day we sent the dresses to be dry cleaned by Renaissance Couture dry cleaner 7 months later we are still awaiting the return of my mothers wedding dress and my sisters brides maids dress. They are still coming up with excuses as to why it is taking so long to dry clean the dresses. Extremely disappointed

Overpriced and rude, they don't like women who go in there looking for a dress who are fat. The only negative is to watch out for the adjustments charges - these are a lot and you have to pay for it up front or they say they won't do adjustments later! We did make them go back on this though as one bridesmaid was measured and did not change size but the dress was far too big. They relented and let us pay for adjustments. Overall very happy though as they looked perfect on the day!

My best friend bought her dresses from Berketex Brides...we received awful service from the…read morepatronising store manager and they completely ripped my friend off by charging her an extra £48.50 to order a different sized bridesmaid's dress when she had already paid for an alterations package. All in all they made what should have been a lovely experience an awful one so please use at caution!

The dresses are lovely but if you are bigger than a size 16 there no point in going in there…read morebecause they won't have anything for you to try on. One of my friend got her wedding dress there and it was a lovely dress but was dissapointed that they didn't even seem bothered to help me because of my size when I was looking for my wedding dress.
