I went in for an contact lenses fitting as an existing customer. I did my exam 7 months ago and I went in today to get CL fitting. After I was done they offered me some options in which I declined because I only needed my prescription. Once I asked for my prescription their whole attitude changed and they denied giving it me. They wanted me to purchase directly from them. Since I already paid before hand for my prescription legally they had to give it to me but they refused. I filed a complaint through the BBB and through the FTC for fraud. Terrible business. Don't recommend I'm also going to file a complaint through my insurance. read more

Alta vista is a business that is close to be a bogus business. Two years ago. I purchase a pair of prescription glasses. A few moths later m these glasses broke. Due to the pandemic event. their office hours changed. When I finally was able to get there to see if my glasses could be repaired, a stocky front desk person did not even want to discuss the issue. I paid $400.00 for a pair of glasses that broke, and that employee with a nasty attitude turned me away. Please do not visit that horrible place. It's overrated, over priced. and their services are lousy. The employees need better training. read more

This Alra Vista Optical really sucks. Last year, after my eyes exam, I purchased a pricey frame for my lenses. After only a couple of months, while in bed, I twisted and rested my head on the frame. I had a surgery done, which limited my ability to get around. I called Alta Vista a few times, no one pucked up. I went by a couple of times, the office was closed. I figured it must have been due to the pandemic situation. I had another surgery. The second surgery, knocked me out off my feet. Now, I am able to walk, and get around, I visited Alta Vista to report my misfortune, the female at the reception desk had a nasty attitude, and she did not a courtesy 'fixing' if the frame, she suggested I should have come at the time the frame broke. I tried to explained my medical issues, but she plainly ignored my quest. I am truly sorry I went to their office. read more

Thanks to Dr. Lee I found out an interesting tidbit (and maybe a future opening pickup line) about myself. I'm left eye dominant. My left eye is bullying my other eye. I can see it now....."it wasn't my fault it was my left eye"......."the eye made me do it, i swear!"........"damn you left eye, damn you for eyeing that last brownie". I've been going to Altavista Optical for a few years now and since I was nowhere near the area I decided to take a drive and drop-in for a fancy shmancy new pair of spectacles. I met Dr. Lee and was pleasantly surprised how easy going he was even though they were going to close in 40 minutes. While he looked at my beautiful astigmatic eyes we talked about current news, weather, the newly built and ironically named Reagan hospital at UCLA, and the ongoing research at the Jules Stein Eye Institute at UCLA. After my eye exam he noticed something in my eyes. No, not the sparkle of my eye but the funny little fact on my left eye. He then proceeded to make jokes at my expense, we were both lol'ing in the exam room. This explains why I'm horrible at sports, very clumsy and uncoordinated. Different doctors work different days, so call ahead and make your appointment with Dr. Lee. You might learn a fact or two on the wonder of the eyes, he might even give you a xeroxed copy on how to properly set your computer for optimum eye health. They also have some very spiffy glasses from the name brands to the non-name brands. Thanks to my holiday bonus I was able to get the pair I really liked. They will be ready in a few days. read more

Hmmm... just realized that there are two Yelp pages for this business, so I'll post my review on there as well.... I had better than 20/20 vision my entire life, then I suddenly began having trouble looking at the computer screen, getting massive headaches while reading and not being the safest driver at night. Not too much later that I realized all these things, my company had its annual Wellness Fair where I came face to face with a machine that told me I had astigmatism. After I finished the test, the nurse said to come in to the shop for a full assessment and that if i made an appointment then I would get 20% off my purchase. So I went to AltaVista and was treated well by all of the staff, I ended up getting glasses for astigmatism/night driving/computer/tv. They have all the cute brands and budget ones as well. I got some rockin ray bans. I get so many compliments about them and my vision is so much better and I can actually stand to be on the computer again. They kept true to their word about the 20% off and with my insurance, I got a great deal on my new frames. read more

Loved this place!!! I've been to multiple optometrists and this is by far my favorite spot. The reception is very kind and patient. She helped me pick out which pair of glasses would suit me best. The optometrist helped me out a lot as well. He had explained to me many things I did not know about my vision. I'm so happy I have found this place! read more

Customer Service here sucks! I walked in for a contact lens exam because i needed to fill my prescription. After the consultation with the Dr. i requested a copy of my prescription, which the Receptionist denied because according to her i had to pay a $40.00 co-pay which i knew it was a lie becasue my eye-med coverage doesnt require i make a co-payment. I refused to pay and she was fine with it. I think she just wanted to pocket the money. She still refused to release my prescription until i threatened to call my insurance and complain. read more

I am very disappointed today I was notify that my daughters glasses were ready and I asked them what time do you close and she replied at 5:30 pm and I said on line it says you close at 6:00 pm and she said yes but we take the last patient at 5:30 pm and she told me if I was going to make a payment or pick up the glass it was ok that they would be there so I hurry up and left work to make it on time I arrived exactly at 5:30 pm and they were already closed before 5:30pm and the only reason why I hurried up and went it's because my daughter can't see from one eye very well and her eye hurts and she get bad headaches I'm very disappointed there going to loose 3 customers me myself my daughter and my son I been going there for 3 years and I'm taking my business somewhere else where they appreciate the customer read more

This business used to have another location on Wilshire and was called Optical Boutique. I was a customer of theirs for over 15 years. I bought a pair of Michael Kors Eyeglasses that had a faulty frame, returned the glasses to be exchanged for another pair and never heard back from them. I called the business for over 6 months and was always given the run around, and they never returned one call with a solution or a refund option. They sold the location on Wilshire and I had to hunt down the new location and on Pacific Blvd and had called over 20 times and no return call or solution to this day!!!! They have both my money and my glasses. Horrible business practices and NO customer care. I would stay far away from them. read more
