Overpriced for the quality of the food served. I ordered 3 dishes and all were either too salty or tasteless. One of the worst Mexican food!

Best Mexican food. Their fish taco is so fresh. Shrimp taco has so many jumbo size shrimp. Most surprising dish is the Chiles Rellenos. Even though it is just a size, it taste so good. Stuffed with cheese inside the Relleno peper. On the outside it is covered by corn flour and delicious red sauce. It looks like it was friend, then baked. The flavors all mix together. This place is good for lunch. Quick service, great salsa. I've only tried a couple things and my favorite so far is the chicken Torta.

My boyfriend and I love our little dinner dates to Altamirano's! Great prices for great authentic Mexican food! A little hole-in-the wall place with fabulous food :-) I love their enchiladas, especially the mole ones. My boyfriend loves the fish tacos and gets them every time! Their margaritas are a treat too...made with Agave "wine" instead of tequila, but don't get tricked into thinking they're any less strong than margaritas with tequila!! Very impressed with this place on my first visit. Menu is diverse and includes more than the usual seafood dishes. Loved my shrimp tostada (thanks Lemonjelly) - nice, flavorful, light meal. Others in my group tried the chile rellenos, tamales, chicken enchiladas and chicken quesadillas. All received high marks except the chile rellenos which were just "average". This will probably become my "go to" mexican spot close to home, but only time will tell - there are still a lot of places to check out! read more

This is my favorite restaurant in the area. Everything I've had is wonderful. Tostadas, enchiladas, tortas, and just recently... the pozole. The best pozole I've ever had. It was made with chicken, strange I know, and is only available Saturday and Sunday, but it was the perfect combination of spicy, limey, meaty, grainy. Perfect. Everything I've had here is really good. The camarones a la Diabla, fajitas, mole anything, salsa bar, it's all great. The service is great, to, with the friendliest waitresses always bringing you fresh chips. They also have a little bar in the corner, and the locals stop in and chat and have a beer and watch whatever game is on. read more

Excellent food at $ prices! I had a shredded beef enchalada, chicken enchalada and shredded beef taco that were absolutely awesome! Don't forget your axxess card for the 2 for 1. Beans and Rice are a must! Negra Modelo on tap in 24 oz ice cold frozen mug = priceless. read more

I had been wanting to try this for a long time and finally made it there. In the order of appearance, the waitress seemed as though she'd rather be anywhere but at this restaurant. Salsa was not very good, chips were okay... My companion loved the torta; chile relleno had little flavor with the exception of the fat that it was cooked in, cheese enchilada was about average. Beans are white vs pinto and looked anemic and were very salty. Rice was rice dipped in red. Margaritas are made with wine as they have just beer/wine license and were okay given this limitation. Prices are on the low'ish side. We love Mexican food but are unlikely to return here. read more

No bueno. First off, There is a BOGO Axxcess Card deal for this place with a $10 limit. That's the only reason why I chose to ate here. My friend and I tried the sizzling fajita and the mole enchiladas for lunch. Right away, I could tell the food was not that fresh. The enchiladas were surprisingly cold, the tiny scoop of guacamole looked old and sad, the fajitas weren't that flavorful. The service was slow even though there was only one other group there when we went. Having said that, I do not recommend this restaurant. There is better food and service for what you pay for at Los Agaves. Also, the food at Lily's Tacos is superior than this restaurant in terms and quality and price. read more

My Negro Modelo on tap was HUGE, the chips and salsa were delicious, and the cost was more than worth it. Well I thought my daughter and I would give this place a try. Being local and never havering been here why not. Let try it. Waiter took awhile to get to us and the place was empty. Well besides his friends he was talking to. We finally order and I get enchiladas rice and beans. Daughter had the same. The chips great. The salsa very spivey I'm ok with it but maybe for the average person, something a bit more mild would've been better. Food arrives pretty quick. And we begin. Sauce was pretty sweet for an enchilada sauce. Didn't care for it. The rice tasted like it was steamed in cilantro. Just awful, beans were bland. But oh we'll we proceed. As I take a vote of my enchilada I pull out a big piece of plastic. I call the waiter and shows it to the cook. Cook says don't worry it's just an onion. I told no way. I couldn't even cut it with my knife so my daughter finished and we got our bill. I noticed I was still charged for my meal. Waiter said well its an onion. So he took of my meal finally. We paid and left. Definitely wont be back. Will just take my business to Domingo's Cafe a block over. Way better service and food. read more

Waitress was very nice & asked several times if we need anything else :) The food was so good! We tried the Chili Colorado & Chili Verde... it was Fresh & Delicious. We also shared a Chicken Tostada,(not that we needed it) that was refreshing to eat with the rich flavors of the pork dishes. WE enjoyed it thoroughly. & the Salsa Bar variety is appreciated. The food did not really need it, but had some anyway with the Beans and Tostada, because the ones we liked best were so flavorful. We have been there a few times but had not visited for some time... since Goleta is a bit out of our way... so glad we tried them again. Have to go back for some more of the same. Always remembered we liked the Chicken Fajitas as well as the Salsa Bar. Will try the Adobado next time, have had it at other places, would like to try it here. Had errands in Goleta & tried to get some take out today, but they were closed... Highly recommend if you want fresh tasty eats! Also their red Hibiscus Flower drink was excellent. Great homemade chips and tortillas. The food was good, but a little salty and not great.

Horrible service and the chilaquiles were below par. It took 30min to make.. so, I guess that explains why it was so mushy and soggy.

Very good food, generous portions, great servers, nice quaint atmosphere. Don't expect fast service instead come to relax.
