I now have a great re-shingled roof and incredible custom made vinyl gates to replace the wooden ones that were warped and pulled off their hinges by the hurricane force winds. They came into an impossible situation because the previous contractors had made so many mistakes, it was unreal. Elio and his son and nephew are very personable. However, his subcontractors are really bad. The very expensive shower we had put in has a large low spot in the tile where water pools on the floor. And today the shower floor and the wall tiles they put in separated and water is leaking all over our bathroom floor. We got it done less than two years ago. I told him about the low spot along time ago and he just texted "thanks for telling me" No offer to fix it, no refund, nothing. Incredibly disappointed. His electrician is also not good. Again very personable, but he did really shoddy work. Once he turned off our electricity for the whole house and just left for the weekend and when we had him come back, he was all put out like we should just live without power for the weekend so he could stay home. We finally ended up having to get our own Electrician because his work was so poor. As the job kept dragging on, Elio seem to just want to wrap it up and take shortcuts. When they put in the front door and it was crooked, he blamed our floor for being crooked. Which is true, a lot of floors are crooked. But the previous door fit as do countless doors over crooked floors, so it's not like it's an unsolvable mystery or something. Our door is still crooked, they never set it right. They also tried to charge us for wired-in smoke detectors. The wires were indeed put in by them, but they were just in the walls and no wired smoke detectors were installed. Elio tried to cover it up by just putting on battery operated ones in the spots where the wired ones were supposed to be. His subcontractors left broken glass and debris and empty fast food containers and bottles all over our yard. I still find broken glass and bits of metal and stuff in the yard. We spent a really large amount of money for us and to have things already breaking down or not be right in the first place is incredibly disappointing. I think Elio is a nice man, but some of the business practices really left me feeling ripped off and dissatisfied. read more

Eleo was very flexible with the start date, payment options, and worked with the Installation company to coordinate coverage. Additionally, I rehired him for a laminate flooring job. He was transparent about the costs, labor, supplies, etc. There were small dings here and there for the flooring and he came back to take care of it. He was cool about a repayment plan and was flexible to meet my schedule. The only issue was that I assigned the crew a bathroom for their use and they made a mess. The workers were very nice and courteous when coming into our home and making sure to lay down construction paper/tarps on the floor so they would not track anything into the house while working. My parents and I were pleased with the work he did at our home. Initially I reached out to Eleodoro for a pluming issue we had for our toilets and he provided an estimate with detail of what must needed to be done. He was honest with pricing and simply wanted to provide the best help he could to get the job done. Unfortunately, there was additional work that needed to be done to make sure the plumbing was done correctly. He initially did state that the price may change due to certain circumstances. Eleo, of Altera Construction, was a pleasure to work with. He and his workers all seemed to be very honest, kind, hard-working people. I obtained numerous estimates from different licensed contractors for the job, and Eleo's was one of the very reasonable and timely ones. The work went 90% according to plan, and while there was a change in the middle that required some extra work, Eleo was excellent about keeping the additional expenses to a minimum. He went above and beyond in many respects, such as purchasing materials like waterproofing epoxy and high-quality interior paints without charging me anything. His workers worked diligently, and he, too, didn't hesitate to get his hands dirty and conduct any sensitive tasks that needed attention.
