I would not recommend or give this place any of my business. I went in because I needed to have some measurements taken and asked if that could be done and Kim said no. When I asked her why, all she would say is no. Absolutely no customer service skills. I had something altered there before and was never called to pick it up. I needed to get a pair of suit pants altered on short notice. I called Kim and told her about my predicament. She told me she could get the alterations done in 24 hours, so I brought them in on Friday at noon, then picked them up on Saturday at noon. She did a great job on the alterations at a very reasonable price. My suit pants were pressed, hung and wrapped in plastic - ready to go for my Monday meeting. Thank you for your help, Kim! So I went to this place bc it was close the house and also it had good reviews about alterations. I got there and it was a simple wedding dress cost me about $99, so I didn't think it would cost more than $100 to alter, I don't think this lady knows how to alter this dress bc she looked at it and was like "so you want to shorten and it's 3 layer" (she kept looking and looking and thinking kind of clueless) then she gave me a price "$350". I'm like "NOPE!" and she said "ok BYE".. WOW! What crazy customer service. I mean I'm asian but damn she was quick to take off her pins and tell me bye! Anyway so I took it to another location near by, this lady charged me $50!!! And told me "very simple"! I do not recommend Kim, if that is her name. She either doesn't know how to alter simple dress or try to price gouge me bc I'm asian. I don't know! The whole situation was weird. I wouldn't go back. read more

We had my daughters prom dress altered here and were less then pleased with the quality of work. I also feel that if this company only takes cash or checks, the information needs to be posted on the door or at a minimum in a place more visible to all customers, not just the ones in a dress g room (of which I personally did not go in or need to). read more

I have nearly everything I wear altered, and I always bring my clothes to Alterations by Kim. They have worked on everything from expensive silk garments to cheap synthetic blends, and everything has turned out perfectly. Their prices are very reasonable and they have a quick turn-around time. The shop is small, and I've only ever seen three employees in there (none of whom, by the way, are named Kim). Also, do be aware that their English is very limited, so if you have specific requests or are the type of person who needs a lot of conversation with the person performing the alterations, you will not get that here. However, I've never actually had the need to "request" anything, as they always know exactly what to do to make garments look and fit their best. read more

Absolutely horrible. I'd give this place 0 stars if I had the option. They are unable to do the most basic task of altering the length of my husband's suit pants... And their stitching was so obvious that you could tell from afar that it was done by a complete amateur! When we complained to the lady she pretended like she didn't understand + she gave us a bs response that it could easily be fixed with ironing... They also don't take credit cards either! Do not go here! 1.they don't take credit/debit cards so if u do go here bring cash or check or be prepared to have to leave and get cash or check. 2. I had a bridesmaid dress altered here. I went to pick up when I was told I needed cash. I noticed that the dress wrinkled. I told them I would return later to get the dress. Giving them time to iron/steam it. I came back the next day with a check and to pick up my dress and it was still wrinkled. She doesn't speak English and I guess didn't really understand when I asked for it to be ironed. Anyway. She basically told me that that wasn't something she did and I needed to take it someplace else and pay to have it done. I've had many things altered in my life and I have always picked them up pressed and in better condition than when I left them. Anyway. There are so many alterations place in Atlanta. I've always had great experiences. I only picked this place bc it was close to my home. I would have driven across town to have avoided this experience. read more

I highly discourage anyone from visiting this establishment. I went in to get a dress hemmed and she proceeded to mark the dress with blue ink (after I show that the pins were not in a straight line around the hemline) and then she ripped the thread that connects the fabric to the lining. Then when it was time for her to give me a price she wanted almost $40 which I declined. So she proceeded to use I believe acetone to remove the blue marks and send me on my way. My dress is permanently damaged as a result of what she did. It's just unprofessional. There is no justification to doing anything such as this to someone's clothing prior to both parties agreeing (we still hadn't discussed when I needed it back.) I don't get many things altered so now I know to first make sure the price and the schedule works, but still there wasn't time for me to refuse the blue ink or her ripping the threads that connected the lining to the outer material. I'd rather purchase a completely different dress than spend $40 to hem a dress that cost less than $40. read more

The owner ruined my sundress. She cut the bottom of the dress off instead of just hemming it and didn't provide a refund or offer to replace my sundress. Absolutely awful. She wanted to charge me $76 to take up a 2 layer bridesmaid dress one inch. I know its Vinings, but come on!

I had a mixed experience with this alterations shop. On the one hand, they did a fantastic job taking in and adjusting some arm holes that were far too large on a summer dress. On the other hand, they gave me a dorky hem on a pair of jeans. The work was fine, but they did not use the same color of thread as the original hem. Instead, they used the same color as the jeans themselves, thereby making the hem look goofy. I might go back because the rates were reasonable, but I will not get anymore jeans done there. read more

Kim never ceases to amaze me. I've had several pairs of pants altered here (some shortened, some lengthened) and they always come back to me at the perfect length. I don't know how she manages to get it dead on every time but she does. The last pair was a bit of a challenge. Official issue fire pants that I acquired for halloween that were about 5 inches too long. The challenge was that there are reflectors sewn into the bottom of the pant legs that would have been removed with standard hemming. Also, the top of the knee pads were below my knees. So the 5 inches had to be taken from above the knee then the pants sewn back together. Once again, the fit is perfect, they look fantastic and once again I'm amazed by Kim's work. read more
