I started taking my clothes here for alterations upon the advice of a dear friend. They ended up closing the one that was closer to me and kept the one in Montgomery open. It's worth the drive. These women are excellent at what they do - their professionalism, friendly helpful attitude and I have never been even slightly disappointed after all these years. I've trusted them with the dresses I've worn to weddings, my mother's dresses from Japan, my daughter's dresses, plus hubby's jackets and suits. Had a bridesmaid dress -- 3 layers, chiffon. Only needed length hemmed about 1 cm. Getting it pinned was very quick, only needed to wait my turn since there were several others in the shop. Turnaround was 1 week (told over the phone ahead of time and reiterated in store) and it cost $100, which was about the same as other places I called but much quicker. Took several summer dresses to have them taken in @ the end of winter. Just tried to wear one of them and it wasn't altered at all. Took it back, it still had their tag on it and everything yet she tells me I'll have to pay AGAIN & it would be $38 more! Completely unacceptable & horrible customer service! read more

I recently brought in a formal gown for my daughter's wedding to be altered. I came here based on a friend's recommendation. She brings ALL her things here, and I'm so glad I followed her reco! The ladies there are so nice! The dress fit perfectly except for the length. There are two dressing rooms to try-on clothes if needed. I tried my dress on with the shoes I'll be wearing, and a seamstress pinned the dress. It only took about a week for it to be done and it is perfect!! I wasn't sure how much it would cost since her dress had a lot of beading on and everyone usually wants to inflate the prices in alterations when it comes to wedding dress or prom dress. Absolutely the best! SUPERB!!!! Quality work at reasonable prices AND quick turnaround. What more could you want?! I had 5 athletic pants that needed to be hemmed; several head zippers. All I was expecting was that the hem be turned up but she took out the zippers and re-sewed them so now I still have the detail of having a zipper at the bottom of the pants! I race go karts and am needing a new race suit. I went in here since it is close to where I live to get my measurements taken. All I needed was for someone to hold up the tape measure and tell me the numbers, so I could write them down then pass the measurements along to the company I was ordering my suit from. The lady working quickly turned me down after I asked her if she could take my measurements. Her reasoning was she wasn't comfortable taking my measurements since I was a male. I was very confused and asked why since this business is advertised for everyone. Not just female. She restated just because I was a male and grew uncomfortable acting. I left after this but I don't think it was right at all. I didn't do anything to warrant this response. I wouldn't recommend this business if you're a male looking for a good tailor. read more

I've used Alterations of Springdale twice and would highly recommend to anyone. The first time I used them, it was to repair work done by another tailor. I had a suit with pleated pants and I wanted to take the pleats out. I had read online this can be rather difficult, but the first person I contacted assured me it would be fine. Nearly $50 later and more than a half dozen fittings, I just gritted my teeth and said, "It's fine." Anyways, fast forward to my experience with Alterations of Springdale. Same pair of damaged pants and I give them a call telling them the situation. The woman, who I don't know her name but believe is the owner, said, "Come on in and we'll see what we can do." I stopped in and she was brutally honest, "I'm going to try my best, but I can't guarantee they'll look great." She said she could pin them in place before anything was sewn after the previous seams were taken out and it wouldn't cost me anything that point. She got them fitting and looking great and I was super-impressed. We went forward with the suit surgery and it looked great at a wedding. VERY, VERY impressed. She literally saved this suit. Fast foward to another occasion where my buddy was getting married, bought our suits, and the groomsmen just needed to get the alterations done. I knew exactly who I would be going to--she made my suit look great and fit even better. The prices seem very fair and the customer service (re: honesty with the scope of the work -- but still pulling it off) are reasons I would recommend them. I'll continue to go here for all of my alterations and I hope you do too! read more

We visted this week as my husband needed two pairs of pants turning up. They did an amazing job, were super friendly and very professional. They charged $25 for both pairs which I thought was a great price. When hubby collected them again it was a very friendly service and my husband was really pleased with the quality of the alterations and overall service. Irene is hands down the best seamstress you can go to in Cincinnati, especially for wedding dresses. I drove all the way from Tampa to have my fittings here-they're that good! My situation was not one that many alterations places felt comfortable with either. Basically, my dress came in a bit close to the wedding date (it came in April wedding was in July) and I had lost 30 pounds and needed the dress to be taken in quite a bit and in a 'shorter' amount of time. There was also a lot of beading involved with my dress. Several places turned this job away but Irene said she could turn it around with time to spare before the wedding (and if I was in the area I'm sure it would be even less time too!). The dress fit perfectly and looked so beautiful. I'm so thankful I was recommended Irene and want to recommend her to you as well. On top of that, she helped with another dress emergency for my wedding outside of my bridal gown. One of my bridesmaids had to cancel a few days before the wedding and I found another one to fill in and use her dress. We told the situation to Irene who graciously was able to help us and made the dress fit wonderfully for my bridesmaid mere days before the wedding! In short Irene provides excellent service, quality alterations, and is extremely knowledgable for both bridal and everyday clothing needs. Definitely recommend having plenty of time for these things but push come to shove Irene works well under pressure and can save the day:). read more

PROS Free consultation. Accurate price quote. Almost all A grades on Angie's list. Quality work. Convenient location. Quick service. Seamstress listened quite well to what I was wanting. Friendly. CONS Did not press if not asked (and didn't offer). Beware when using Mapquest- gave complicated directions to the simply located place. Store can be busy at times. Street it's located off of can also be hectic. I went to alterations of Springdale on Montgomery road about two weeks ago to get a bridesmaid dress taken in on the sides. I called multiple places around the area and got a wide variety of "it depends" on the cost- ranging from $50-$200, just for hemming! Ultimately this place was the lowest cost and had almost all "A's" on Angie's list ratings. I called and was advised that the fitting would only take around 10 minutes, but upon my arrival there were some other things going on (a few phone calls, people coming in for service or picking up, etc.) but nothing too time consuming (maybe 15-20 instead of 10). Anyway, those small interruptions aside, the process did not take long and the quote on price was low ($50). I picked it up a week later and it fit perfectly- I could have not asked for more- and she even added some extra hooks for support at the top of the dress, and I didn't even have to ask for this! UmI'm so happy I went here and I LOVE my dress... Which is ultimately what matters. Perfect! This place still might need some work, but it got the job done just as I'd requested. read more
