I'm getting really tired of the political nonsense that is being spewed from the city of riverside…read more Most currently the 4th of July fireworks show on la Sierra was canceled only 4 hours prior to when the show should have started with excuses blaming the company they hired not having enough workers and claiming that the company only canceled 4 hours ago saying they did not have enough workers to set up the show. Pretty lame to push the responsibility off onto the company even if it was the company's fault. At this point I highly doubt that. Just another means to continue to push citizens off track for the cities need to pocket our tax dollars and keep us holed up inside like sheep while prices and taxes continue to rise. I would say it is pretty obvious that something is going on when they inform the public only 4 hours prior to a show when it takes all day to set up. They would have known by this morning that something was up if it truly was due to the company not having enough workers. Another year of no celebrations anywhere over issues that are none of their business. If we as working, tax paying citizens choose to go out, celebrate, go to a show, it should be our right and choice. Not be manipulated and lied to, to keep us all under their thieving thumbs. This is freedom let alone freedom of choice? Not.

Really disappointed as my kids look forward to it all year. I know it is the responsibility of the whole community to help conserve water. But maybe they could of just cut down to two or three days a week. Last year i met a mother at the etiwanda park who was homeless and two kids. She lives far from pool area and it was only way for her kids to stay fresh and enjoy the summer. Maybe only cancel water attractions in parks that are near a community pool.

Ran into this Nature Center by accident while on our way to Mount Rubidoux. As soon as we arrived we were greeted by a staff member. She guided us into the Nature Center office and asked if my daughter would like to complete a scavenger hunt while on a trail. The staff member offered my daughter a backpack filled with equipment to asist with hunt. Throughout the trail we would be able to spot the animals (cut outs) and plants we needed to find complete our scavenger hunt. It took us about an hour to complete the trial and hunt. Afterwards she made a pine cone bird feeder. Construction is still being done on this location from what the staff member explained. Plans to add two more buildings are in the works. This is a very cute location and I highly recommend you stopping by before you continue on your journey to Mount Rubidoux.

This place was so cute, they gave them little red backpacks to borrow with binoculars, pens and pencils and a clipboard with a scavenger hunt. They wanted to make the scavenger hunt more interesting for the kids since they won't always get to see some of the animals so that places a few fake ones around to make it more fun for the little ones. My kids got to see a lot of the birds on the list and it was fun finding the plants too. They also had a little spot to make a nature journal. It's not a huge place but it's enough to enjoy a walk, some gardens and some outdoor time. And it's all free!! If you want to get the kids outside for a while, I recommend coming here.

Huge recreation space, so many different amenities to try, overall a pretty nice recreation center…read more After 4 years of coming here to the student rec center at UCR, I've decided to write a Yelp review. There have been so many changes over the years to the gym here at UCR, mostly to try to better the place. They've moved things around, made things nicer, added more things, and overall improved the gym space but adding things like extra power racks and now they have a weight sled on the second floor. Service is generally friendly but usually whenever I ask the front desk for things, they seem lost or they act like they don't care about anything. Overall, I do think that this recreation center is a lot nicer than other the other UCs. Some of my complaints include that they refuse to have higher dumbbell limits, since the highest dumbbells only go up to 100. I know it's not in-demand to have them, but if students need to progress, you'd think they'd add more weights. I also don't like that they got rid of some of the leg machines downstairs and moved them upstairs. By doing that, you're making students become even more lazy from doing leg workouts more often and you've created a chicken leg epidemic! haha If you're coming to this gym from outside of the university, I believe that they have guest passes for $5. But if you're from UCR, I highly suggest utilizing this gym because it's included in your tuition.

They have any type of weight training you need, an indoor track, beautiful pool, tennis courts, basketball courts, and almost anything you need. The equipment is kept clean, and you can use the rooms to do floor training when classes aren't being held. Speaking of classes - they have people come and teach Zumba, Pilates, or again - anything you need. Water stations on both floors, and clean bathrooms on both floors as well. Sometimes the SRC gets crowded, but that's mostly after the New Years. If you avoid prime hours of working out you'll have no problem getting the machines you need. However, even if it is crowded, you'll still get what you need with a short wait time. If you're a student or have the opportunity to use this gym, I strongly recommend it!
