There is was suggested to visit the Orange Coast Railway Museum, which is in Perris. After our time at OCRM, we wanted to see what downtown Perris was about, figuring there would be some historic buildings and possible restaurant choices. Indeed, there were some of both, but there was some disjointedness about it all. As a first-time visitor, unfamiliar with the Pettis Valley, I learned that there are long-time families that settled in about a century ago. Many still have current generations, and surely advocate for the area. There are some newer, large developments with some flair. There are also remnants of former glory, like an old movie theater building which is still standing, but unrestored. We ultimately didn't stop and walk around, as nothing caught our attention. We ended up going to the Perris Airport instead to eat and watch the skydivers. My impression of Perris in general is that it's a city not necessarily flourishing at this time of high employment, which would mean a bad scenario during a future economic downturn. This is not a place to find softening touches like flower baskets hanging from lampposts. Am not sure what economic engines drive the area, but they haven't made an emphasis on community beautification on a wide scale with the available monies. That being said, my photos remind me that there are coordinated plantings of palms and other trees downtown. Being in a valley with temperatures pushing 100 degrees in early May and not a lot of water readily available, landscaping overall is minimal was my impression.

You can pay your water bill online for a fee, but your account online can't tell you what you owe…read more You can't call the automated system and find out what your bill is. You have to call and speak to a human. But the one human with the one phone never answers. If you're lucky enough to ever get an answer, you'll hear her tell you how many phone calls they get from people asking what they owe so they can pay their bill. And, of course, if you call every day but can't get through to anyone, you'll still owe the late fee for not paying your bill on time. What a joke.

I had a previous worker Mr. Ramos that did not help me at all, I felt like he was against me instead of working with me he was just a horrible worker that Not only did he give me Anxiety, & Depression making me feel that didn't care for my son and made me cry. Lisa Hall was then assigned to our case and she took the time to listen and explained all of our options in making our case so much easier. I was Blessed to have her as my Case Worker due to she answered All my questions right away, she didn't judge me in any way possible. She helped us so quick we never thought it would be so fast. I wish all Case Workers would be just like Lisa Hall with dedication to their job. THANKS A MIIIIIILLION LISA HALL you were the Best!! Now I can sleep at night with no worries.

My boyfriend currently is paying child support on a case where income was not reported that he had paid. His worker is very rude, abrupt and seemingly gender bias. When you come in to these situations, you are probably already frustrated, and having someone who is abrasive makes it that much worse. If you need to talk with them, I would recommend calling with general questions, and if you absolutely need to talk to the worker, then get a hold of them. They told me there was a form on the website to authorize me to work on his account, but I have yet to find it. Soon we will go in to modify child support, I might amend my review again later.

If you are working for or just got hired at any food service establishment in California it is…read morerequired by law that you have a basic understanding of food safety; which means that you will have to get your pretty little hands, and your name, on a food handler's card. If you are specifically working at a food service establishment in Riverside this is the place to go within 14 days of being employed. They are open Monday- Thursday from 7 am-5pm and closed on holidays. The test will take about 20 minutes to complete, but give yourself at least an additional 20 more minutes to review the information they will be testing on. It is very important to review this information at least once before you take the test if you are wanting to pass the first time. Some of the questions asked are common sense, like having to wash your hands after using the lou; but a lot of the questions are not, like specific times and temperatures that food needs to be at when left out without being in the temperature danger zone. You can review the material they test on beforehand on their website, otherwise they have booklets available on location for you to borrow as long as you need before taking the test. There is no trickery in the wording of the questions, everything is pretty much straight out of the booklet. The test costs $20 to take (with 3 chances to pass without paying the fee again), $5 for any duplicates you may need made. CASH ONLY. Tests are also available in Spanish. After you have paid your fee, you are given the test, a clipboard with the answer sheet, and a pencil. Once you are finished, you turn it in and they grade your test in front of you letting you know right away if you have passed or failed, giving you an opportunity to review any questions you may have missed. When you pass you fill out a form that asks your name and where in Riverside you work and they give you your food handlers card. This card needs to be renewed every 2 years. Save the receipt for a work expense write off. Tests in Spanish are also available. Within minutes 6 patrol cars were dispatched and headed my way. Luckily, while I was still on the phone with 911, my son called to tell me he ended up coming home from being out of town. I informed the dispatcher and she stayed on the phone with me as I confirmed it was him. She called off the cars and one officer still came to check to make sure everything was fine. When I told the assistant that I saw the sidewalk next to it move with heavy winds, she told me to "record it next time" Well I didn't have to cause just as we knew, the next storm we had, the tree fell on my house and my neighbors! They would not claim liability for it and tried to tell my neighbor and I that we had 5 days to clean up all the mess that they're tree caused!!! The housing dept. came out though and told them the opposite, and had to tell them more than once they needed to clean it!! Now dealing with all that, and they gave me a rent raise after that!!!! I'm struggling enough right now since my room on my house is deemed uninhabitable so I don't have anyone helping with rent now, and then when trying to talk to the electricity Co about my bill they told me that I'm not even listed as a tenant here!!! I have NEVER once been late with my rent until now. And because I gave them the rent 1 day late for the amount due, it was given back to me because it did not include the damn $45 late fee!!! And the day after they put a 3 day notice to pay or quit on my door!!! This comp sucks!!! They only care about your money!!! Now I have repairs that come out to over $25000 from that tree!! Thank God for insurance!

Big Bear Lake is a mountain resort community located about a 2 hour drive from Los Angeles. You can…read moretake HWY 18, 38 , or 330 to the 18 to get here. The Altitude ranges from 6,750 to 9,000 feet. So if you are not used to the elevation your ears may plug and you may experience shortness of breath due to the thin air. Many people that are not used to the drive get carsick. So be prepared for that just in case. Summer temperatures average around 80 degrees during the day, and 45 degrees at night. Winter temperatures average in the low 40's during the day, and mid 20's at night. The snow is beautiful. Big Bear is full of recreational opportunities such as fishing, water sports, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, tours and winter sports. The skiing and snow play areas are crowded but fun. Big Bear has one of the nation's only alpine solar observatories located on the lake ( see attached pictures). Big Bear has a zoo, a golf course, campgrounds, great restaurants, entertainment, and lots of shopping. Big Bear even has a small airport is and is equipped for night landings. There are rental houses, motels , and cute bed and breakfast to lay your head. Spend the day or the weekend , you will have fun. And if you are not into nature , there are spas and other activities that are fun too.

We rented a house in the Castle Glen Estates area and absolutely fell in love with it! We were there about the 2nd week in January and the snow was glistening white and oh so beautiful. We were surprised that the place wasn't congested with people; perhaps because this location is a bit on the higher end side to rent for the weekend but well worth it. All of the surrounding homes were estate size and all beautifully designed. It looked like a relatively newly built community and had such uniqueness about it. The weather was really nice the weekend we went and the community was very peaceful and quiet. The community is centrally located in the heart of Big Bear Lake but away from the hustle and bustle and busyness of the Lake. It's a nice retreat and treat for a weekend getaway here. I highly recommend renting out the homes in the Castle Glen Estates neighborhood anytime of the year in a heart beat. I'm definitely coming back to this area again in the future!
