He truly cares about getting you better and takes the time to delve into the big picture. He doesn't overload you with supplements, but carefully selects what you need, and then slowly modifies the plan as you go. It's not a one-size-fits-all treatment, and it is specifically customized to you and your issues. His office is relaxing, not rushed, and is very well run. Everything is organized and peaceful. Making changes to your diet and lifestyle is hard, but when someone with Dr. Redd's extensive knowledge is guiding you along, it is not only doable, but life-changing. I'm really grateful that Dr. Redd exists! It's nice to know there is someone in town who is up on all of the research and completely dedicated to constantly learning as much as he can about nutrition and functional health. You can tell he is passionate about the subject and it shows in the quality of his practice. I highly recommend Dr. Redd, and have had a very positive experience with my appointments, and with changes in my symptoms. Additionally, I have sent several of my patients to him, who have had also had very positive experiences. He's the real deal!

I was…read morethoroughly impressed by Dr. Koch's ability to approach my health situation from a variety of angles. For example, she recommended supplements, dietary alterations, testing, and lifestyle changes specifically tailored to my health challenges. As a naturopath, Dr. Koch is committed to and passionate about approaches that work with the body's natural healing capacities. Her commitment to this belief was very inspirational and had a positive impact on my well-being. I left each session knowing I was valued and understood. I also respected Dr. Koch's willingness to tailor her treatment plan to my budget. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, she adapted her recommendations to my situation, which is unusual among health practitioners. I was also impressed by Dr. Koch's willingness to consider more conventional treatments when this was warranted. This openness to an integrative approach is rare. Finally, Dr. Koch emanates a warm and positive energy that is in itself healing. I consistently felt appreciated and cared about, and that alone went a long way toward improving my health and mindset. I enthusiastically recommend Dr. Koch to anyone wishing to work with a skilled practitioner committed to taking a whole-person approach to healing.

Save your money…read more Had the full PK treatment in 2017 and saw absolutely no improvements. None. Nada. Zip. Could've slept at home for a week and gotten the same effect. Were my expectations too high? No - I did a 2 week Ayurvedic treatment in India in 2002 and it was a life-changing improvement in sinus congestion and "brain fog", which required 2-3 cups of strong coffee daily. Unfortunately, the improvements went away over time - completely my fault for not following their recommended lifestyle changes (reduce dairy, etc.). Fast forward to 2017. Took some time between projects as my health had started to deteriorate. My mom had benefited from Dr. Lad's colleague, Dr. David Fowley (who wasn't practicing much in his old age), so I tried Dr. Lad instead. The house I shared with fellow patients for a week seemed run down, but clean. No worries since I was there to improve my health, not lounge at a 5-star hotel (the facility in India was far worse). Dr. Lad seemed very nice and empathetic, but you only get 30-45 minutes with him. His medical assistant (can't remember her name) seemed very rushed and told me I should be grateful for that extra 15 minutes with Dr. Lad. Really? I'm a paying customer, not a charity case! She was incorrect in her statement that there's no viral issue (went to a real doctor to confirm). She had none of Dr. Lad's empathy, and coupled with an inaccurate diagnosis, would definitely not recommend. The staff doing the PK treatment were very nice, but the treatment itself had no benefit. They kept suggesting adding more treatments (extra $), which felt nice, but again, no medical improvement. If you want a spa experience, go to an actual spa. If you want medical benefits, go somewhere else. Good luck in your journey!

I was invited by a friend, who is a big fan of Vasant Lad, and says that he is the teacher of Deepak Chopra. There's apparently a film about him at the Guild at the time of this writing. What I don't know about Ayurveda could fill their bookstore (and probably does), but Vasant Lad is a great speaker, clearly highly knowledgeable, and kept it interesting, while being cautious not to describe Ayurveda as a magic bullet that we should all practice like authorities on our neighbors. The only slightly negative vibe I had was when he was determining the "doshas" of audience members, and then suggesting they were this, that, or the other thing ("Oh! You always fall asleep with a book!"). That part struck me as a little psychic-like. Ayurveda has a lot of basis to it, but at the same time I think that people like that psychic-who-am-I kind of thing and so he was offering that, but I found his lecture topics linking aspects to the science that I was more familiar with, to be more of interest. They had a brochure that I perused at the beginning, that requested please no photos, bare shoulders, open beverages, or children. All four of these things I saw in evidence, but people were trying to be respectful. The one heads up I would give, is that at least at the first talk, you needed to remove your shoes. The people at the Institute define nice. They served tea, and snacks, and they came up to you with authentic smiles and greetings, genuinely trying to be helpful and informative. I came away intrigued, having had a good time, and wondering if I wanted to pursue some course of study with them. Or at the very least, adopt some good, easy lifestyle habits that would probably make me a much happier, healthier human.

She spends the time needed to hear the problems and to explain the issues, engaged with all the myriad data points every time I have an exam (imagine doing that for every patient; I know that she does because I'm acquainted with a few others of her patients and we all marvel about this) and yet at the same time she always brings a positive/encouraging friendly/kind/caring demeanor that is attentive to the smallest issues and patiently gracious even with the eccentricities of difficult patients (ask how I know). Her staff is professional and kind in person, and you'll generally get a same-day reply from Dr. Barlow or her staff (never later than the next day!) when you send an inquiry through the MyChart system. Dr. Barlow not only gives good, targeted referrals for specialist care, she follows up to make sure that care was provided to her standards. Dr. Barlow comes across as a wonderful caring friend - my wife and I think it's almost a miracle that we'd be blessed to know a physician who's both so razor-edge sharp and yet such a lovely person.
