They together discussed that my labor charge was excessive and together decided to cut my labor allowance in HALF. I provided the layout, design, truck, tools, demolition, all supplies (the money was stuck in probate, so I bank rolled the project, got rid of debris (condo association would not let us use there dumpsters, removed wallpaper, scrubbed glue off walls, patched holes and painted the entire condo 2 coats of base paint. I initially got MANY estimates to rehab the place, however the quotes were sky high. This is when we decided to diy. I also provided my coworker. Mr Tobin you may be a lawyer, however you are not a cost estimater. Keep your big mouth out of are family. You have caused great strife in my family over this matter. You have no idea how many hours I put into this job, but I am going to give you that number. Two employees from my corporation for 10 days equals 200 hours. My experience with Eric Wexler was below expectations. I setup a consultation for a question…read morearound doing a Roth IRA conversions. It involved some partial rollovers into qualified plan from IRA preceding the conversion. I had done a bit of research but wanted an expert to validate the specifics of my situation. While other attorneys I've met with in the past on other topics have a free consultation to validate they are in a position to help; Eric charges $250 for the initial conversation which is an in person meeting. He doesn't offer a first 5-10 minute phone discussion to ensure he is a fit or the need. After about a week, he called to say what I was specifically trying to do wouldn't work. I requested him to send any specific reference to the law section; IRS publication; or articles as his evaluation was contrary to what I was finding myself. He said he would send me something, but never got back to me. There was some additional up and back with questions as I sent him some IRS material after he never got back to me per above. Eric is not responsive, going weeks without a reply. He emailed me on Nov 9th apologizing that he'd been on a big project, and would reply soon. It is now Dec 2nd and still not heard. My perception is that my question was not in Eric's wheelhouse, familiarity with current rulings regarding rollovers to qualified plans from an IRA of earnings, leaving the basis behind in an IRA. In the end I felt like I wasted time and $250 without clarity. To his credit, at least he never asked for more than the initial consultation fee. But regardless I still feel as though I don't have a solid answer and would he would have been better for him to simply decline to engage on the topic during the initial meeting if this wasn't the type of thing he could get to resolve quickly or he didn't have bandwidth.
