EDIT: For employers: I just learned from an admin of a tech department that of the 5 employees that were hired for their company through job agencies, the 1 employee that was hired through ALRTES had very poor performance, causing the company to waste their money fixing the problems the employee caused, and eventually let them go. The other 4 were good employees. This is only one instance so make of that what you will. -- For job seekers: I have spoken to my peers about the job agencies they use and they have all said the experience I had is not typical of other companies. I would recommend you go to a different agency that will take you seriously and respect your time. I almost gave them 2 stars because *most* of the staff that I have interacted with are very pleasant but the appalling interaction I had most recently far outweighs that. 1. Interacted with one rude staff member that asked if I was still interested in work to which I told them yes. I have told the company several times what my job experiences were but they have asked me for this information at least 3 different times a month apart. During the most recent call, they did not have my full work experience which lead to the employee making a rude comment towards me with my work gap since she didn't see the work and schooling I have done between then and now. During the end of that call she said I'd best fit a customer service role to which I said "sure" (even though they can clearly fking see that I have a BS in Computer Science???) and then she said "no a full time position." I have told them the past 3 times that I was looking for part time and temp positions because of my current jobs. It seemed like she knew this and asked anyways for some reason? If she wanted to push a full time job why not ask if I wanted a full time job related to the DEGREE THAT I TOLD THEM I HAVE that I have expressed previously that I am searching for something in this field as well. What is the point of giving them any preferences or information about myself if they are not going to take any of it into account? 2. They have only given me jobs 20 miles away, more than 15 minutes after the job had already started knowing I do not have a means of traveling that far. 3. The one job I did work with them went well for the most part until the last day where they did not tell some employees that they would not be working that day. This lead to them traveling to work for nothing and the client being confused as to why so many of us showed up because they let ALTRES know the day before that they wont be needing this many employees. read more

I'd highly recommend Altres for Students, moms, and etc. basically ANYONE! I am a full time college student and decided not to take summer classes this summer so I can work and find a steady full time job that will allow me to still have time for homework and other things. -- I found Altres through a friend and at first I was hesitant because I wasn't sure what would come of this; pay deductions, not getting a perfect fit, etc. but I was proved wrong. At first when I applied for jobs I looked at strictly Medical job openings because that's what I am going to school for (A specific medical field, but I'd rather not say here). Altres was recommended to me by a friend. I admit, I was a bit hesitant at first because I never used a staffing company before. I was looking for jobs on my own on various websites, but they didn't work out. To be honest, I was having a difficult time, so when another friend got a job through Altres, I decided to give them a try. I worked mainly with Lynn, Zana, and Kawehi (Roxanne and Claudette also contacted me regarding 1 position). They were quick to set up an online interview and I met with Zana to talk about what I'm looking for. They have lots of things you have to fill out, but it's to help them learn more about you so they can recommend jobs that are suitable. One thing I LOVE about working with their team is the constant communication. They call, text, and email. I'm always able to reach them and they respond back fast. They contacted me whenever there was a position they thought would match what I'm looking for. They also considered my preferred location, pay, etc. and provided as much detail as possible. If a job didn't match something (Ex: pay was lower than what I wanted), they would still let me know about the available position and let me know that pay was lower. That really helped to open up my options because I can be flexible about that. I really appreciate that they always asked me if I'm interested in the job or not. I never felt pressured to say yes to a job when I wasn't interested. They were always really understanding. There was a position that I interviewed for and I followed up with Lynn to let her know I was interested and really wanted the job. She followed up with me first and then followed up with the company. Later, I received a call from her and she asked me for the reason I quit my previous job. After explaining to her, she told me that she is asking because she heard back from the company and they were gonna pass on me. Lynn shared what the person who interviewed me seemed to be concerned about. However, she decided to clarify with me and told me she will call the company again to let them know my situation and what I meant. I was beyond touched because I felt that Lynn really went out of her way to hear my side and communicate that to the company. In my perspective, if Lynn had just called to let me know that I didn't get the job offer, then I would've had to accept that and we would've had to move on. BUT! I was so grateful that she fought for me :) It was the weekend and we had to wait a few days to hear back. I felt that the chances of the company changing their mind was very low. I was starting to lose hope, but eventually, Lynn got back to me with good news!! I was so surprised, super happy, and super grateful :) She also expressed how happy she was for me~ Since quitting my previous job, I was job hunting for a while. The last 4 years working with Altres Staffing have gone by so quickly. I just realized that my current main job that was assigned by Altres Staffing began as a short 2 week temp job turned into a 3 year, full-time permanent accounting job. Even though it has been a long-term position, it is reassuring that I am still working through Altres Staffing with Lisa Kodama and Shannon Ng. I absolutely love they frequently contact me by text, email and phone when a job that they think I'll be interested is available. I never thought it was possible through a "temp/placement" company but with Altres, I have medical and dental insurance, and even a 401k with matching. Before the Covid-19 pandemic, Lisa and Shannon enhanced my monotonous non-profit agency office job routine with a variety of exciting fun one day jobs at night or on weekends. I was assigned to work at symphony concert events on weekends at the Blaisdell and their special events at Royal Hawaiian Hotel. It didn't feel like a job at all. I greeted VIPS, assisted the celebrity performers with their CD/Poster signings and enjoyed all of the concerts. Another fun event was the Light Garden by Symmetry Labs in Ward Village. It didn't feel like a job at all to be directing the visitors through the exhibit surrounded by all the sparkly lights and music. When the Covid-19 pandemic began, everyone at my non-profit agency job immediately switched to work-from-home mode. Bridgette let me respond to you. I was offered 3 positions to be exact which 2 I couldn't take since we had just gotten on the island and our vehicle wasn't here yet! And the other one Kawehi offered me which was a supervisor position that I told him I was willing to interview for in person... And I didn't hear back from him yet! You all wanted to send me to positions that you wanted me to do. The position "Personnel Coordinator" was a in house position which you all decided not to interview me for even though I had the background for the position! Which felt like a discrimination based on how I was treated when I inquired about the position! Terrible company! With a lot of fake reviews and horrible customer service! Horrible leadership! Than Roxanne offered me this other position on Monday and I told her I would be willing to interview for it but she called me telling me it's an hour away like she was trying to deter me from going for the position. This was even after I told her I'll still make the drive! She told me to call someone and verify the area and possibly drive down by the job to make sure I wanted to take the job. Than I ended up telling her the same day she was right the drive was long after speaking with my husband and she still sent my information over to the company! So a totally of 4 jobs was offered to me and 2 I was willing to interview for despite how I felt that you all were trying to push me in a direction that I didn't want vs a career field I wanted to be in! And if my background don't match the company background am I not suppose to pass on those opportunities? Interesting... I don't have have any questions for your organization! I took my wife here for a drug screening for her new employment. I called ALTRES beforehand and easily made an appointment the next day. ALTRES was the closest location to us, located along Kapiolani, next to Doraku, near Ward Ave. Make sure you slow down a little because the ALTRES building is blocked it's neighboring buildings. There is parking provided, but it was limited and all taken. I drove around the area and there is ZERO street parking because they're ALL Reserved for businesses. After a few circles and driving through the ALTRES parking lot several times, someone finally left. The staff here are friendly, and the office and waiting area were clean and cool with everything modern looking. My wife said she had to wait downstairs in the parking lot for someone to greet her. She was taken across the street, into a small building that felt exactly like a studio apartment sans the kitchen. How odd! read more
