It's surrounded by trees and flows along Alum Creek. There are quite a few bridges you go over. We saw quite a few cyclists out in the morning. Colorful leaves were abundant along the trail, and it was peaceful - even on a Saturday morning.

This is a lovely and quiet walk, with a few look-out balconies and a nice bridge. You can park at bridge park or the parking lot provided and enter the trail from there. We love this nature walk!

But once you start heading onto the path, you discover that there is more to this place than you see from the parking lot. If you want to get right next to some small waterfalls, like touch them with your fingers, this is the place to visit. The waterfalls are smaller, but I liked that we could get up close to the water and experience it in a tactile way. Being right up in the water's business allowed for some really great photos, too -- the waterfall area is a great place to take photos. The hike through Indiana Run Falls is very easy, but there are some areas that require walking up and down steps, so it might not be the easiest hike for someone in a wheelchair or pushing a stroller. Otherwise, this is a great place to visit, and it's a good hike for kids because it's very short and sweet.

My dog loves running off leash and they have a few pieces of agility equipment to play with as well. Unfortunately this park is just a solid mud pit almost year round. There is some grass and it's trying but I don't think the drainage system is effective at all. The grass that is planted isn't a durable grass, and I would take my dog here so much more often if I didn't have to plan on giving her a bath afterwards. If you come to the park for the hiking trails or for the playgrounds or nature conservation then this is definitely a 5-Star park for you!! But if you have a dog and you're coming for the dog park, I'd suggest the Bark Park in Marysville or the Heritage Trail Dog Park in Hilliard instead!

The section of Glacier Ridge that I visited (the entrance across the street from Glacier Ridge Elementary) is where the disc golf, playground, wind & solar learning center, covered picnic areas, a bathroom, a water fountain, and a tire pump are located. There are also 3 trails in this part of the park: horses only, multi-use, and a short walking trail. The last one was my favorite because even though it was the shortest, it was unpaved and went through a forested area. The other trails were paved, flat, and you are totally exposed-something I don't care for on a hot summer's day. I'd like to come back and check out the 4th trail and the Honda Wetland Center.

There are water fountains at several points as well as bathrooms. The bathrooms in Gambier are in a normal structure, not porta potty, and the woman's was well maintained and clean. This trail is fully volunteer maintained so a clean bathroom, freshly planted flowers, and smooth asphalt is impressive. Every town stop also has a bike repair kit and manual air pump to keep you rolling.

It gets busy some times but not too much. There's beautiful scenery whether it's in the city or outside. I like using this trail to get from one place to another. It's usually busy in the summer when everyone's out. The weekends get crazy so watch out for the bikers in the spandex uniforms. It seems there's always some crazy person training for a triathlon or something. The people on the trail have been friendly for the most part. I recommend the Olentangy Trail for anyone who likes to exercise. It's a good way to avoid construction and traffic on the roads. There's also great scenery along the trail.

The trail is beautiful and very scenic. There is a portable toilet when you first enter the park. As far as water goes, be sure to take your own. Its path winds along some nice stops if you want or need them, such as the Heritage Trail Dog Park (parking and port-a-potty available, in addition to the dog park of the name in case you've got a four-legged friend with you that wants some extra play) and Homestead Metro Park (parking and restrooms available, plus playgrounds and a train to explore, if you've got a kiddo with you that wants some extra play). Hickory Woods Park, part of the Preservation Parks of Delaware County, is newly opened in November…read more2021 with its first phase! There are several short trails available now, with a loop through the woods, a smaller loop through the meadow, and a short gravel loop near the parking lot that takes you by the sledding hill and fishing pond, and it connects back to the other two loops. There is a gravel parking lot with a nearby port-a-potty available. Several picnic tables are also available in this area. It sounds like there are future plans to add some more amenities, which will be a nice addition. It's great that they were able to preserve this section of land, which is located between an existing neighborhood and a second neighborhood that is currently under construction (and can be heard from the woods). It's a pretty area!
