Tuesday there was more music and dancing on Newman Street, the main shopping area just 2 blocks away. Beds where comfortable. Lots of fresh fruit at breakfast. Plenty of parking. Proprietor lives onsite. Easy come and go access evenings with key pad entry. The owner, Leigh, is a warm and caring business woman who clearly wants you to be comfortable. Be sure to request the complimentary robes-they make getting in and out to the hot tub bearable in 10 degree weather. Room looks out over Lake Huron. Vast and beautiful. Breakfast is delivered to your room at a time you select and you're given a menu to select from at check-in. Surprise! Dessert is delivered at 5 pm each night. The texted reminders and communication are helpful. Overall, it is evident that the owners and everyone who works here takes great pride in this property and wants their guests to have a lovely experience, and we certainly did! The mattress and pillows were comfortable.The bottom line the rooms were immaculate. The outside is inviting and comfortable. There is a nice patio area if you want to kick back and relax with your friends. The breakfasts were out of this world. There was an option for a special dish every day or you opt for the basics. Furnished with eclectic antique furniture and ornaments, amenities such as lighting and plumbing are modern and luxurious. Rooms are scrupulously clean. Standing procedures are explained succinctly on an information sheet on room's desk; of course you can ask other questions via text, phone, or in person. Overall it is a real, comfortable home. Breakfasts were excellent. The owner is the cook; it is obvious she loves cooking and puts thought and care into preparing seasonal dishes. She was also careful to check about any food allergies guests may have. Subtracting 1/4 star because of baffling TV streaming network setup - with NO volume control! Although we aren't used to that at home, so it may not be a problem for other people. We were treated as special welcome guests; we definitely want to return on a future trip.

My family and I have also gone kayaking a few times while there, and the kayaks are all in great shape, the routes are well marked (I know they dealt with a lot of fallen trees this year but it's all been cleaned up). But, the kayaking from this location is the best IMO. Every other guest I've met here is also super nice and affable, so they seem to attract great people to stay here.
