I do not write many reviews on yelp but, this one I feel is SUPER important so I am. Permanent makeup is obviously a permanent decision and although I have other tattoos, one I was a bit worried about getting right. I just finished my touch up appointment with Ali and I can honestly say her handling of that has made me an even bigger supporter of her work and her business now. Ali took a LOT of time the first go round to make sure she had my eyebrows just right; color, depth, centered on my face all of it. I was super satisfied but, Ali insisted I come in for a touch up to make sure and I am glad she did. Ali saw some loss of color (that was my fault) that I didn't think much of and hooked my completely backup on the touch up appointment. Ali takes her job and customer satisfaction very personal and very serious and I will recommend her and her practice to anyone I come across seeking permanent makeup and will likely be back myself for more work. I absolutely love Always Beautiful and I highly recommend it to anyone who's interested in permanent makeup. I had gotten my eyeliner done many years ago at another facility and had a slight fear of getting it done again due to the pain and discomfort I had during the procedure. Ali definitely took the time to listen to my very long list of questions and concerns and made me feel very comfortable even before I made my appointment. I had contacted a few different places in and outside the Denver area and she was the only one who responded to my email the same day. Another big reason I called Always Beautiful was because I was comforted by that fact that Ali is an RN and has been doing this for over 11 years. I also didn't find anyone else who was a certified Aesthetic Nurse Injector. When I arrived she took the time to talk to me about what my expectations were and she she thoroughly explained the reality of the permanent makeup and the importance of aftercare. She provides very detailed instructions, and gave me the soap and lotion she finds most effective during this process. I was actually impressed with how much time she took to go over everything which in my opinion is something that everyone should do because this is after all a semi permanent decision. The procedure itself went very smoothly with very little pain. She uses an antiseptic cream throughout the procedure and makes sure you're comfortable throughout. I was extremely happy with my results and my eyeliner looks way better than the first time I got it long ago. I see now just how important aftercare is because while she can do an incredible job, the outcome can highly be affected if it's not properly cared for afterwards. I don't have comparison to others, but I thought the service Ali provided was top notch. I went to Ali to get permanent makeup for my eyebrows. I have a great shape (or so I like to believe) however, they're very sparse and almost non-existent near the end. I met with Ali at her satellite site, which is in a strip-mall and throws you off a bit when you first walk in, but is really nice when you're past the mechanics next door. :) She went through what I was hoping to get out of the make up, the color I was targeting, and absolutely any concern that could come to my mind. I honestly didn't have that many concerns, other than worried if the color would look natural and if people would look and say "that's a tattoo". She did a great job addressing the type of ink she used, how it is different than regular tattooing ink and how she would address the natural approach. You start the process by numbing the skin topically, with a lotion type product, draw on the shape, and then get to it. Obviously, it hurt a bit... you're jabbing a needle into your brow bone. That being said, it was NOT bad at all. I've had a tattoo on my ribs and wrist, both were more painful. After she goes over the eyebrows initially, she puts some other numbing agent on and then, you don't feel anything. It was super easy and faster of a process than I'd thought. After, it's darker than you'd imagined (mine was still super sharp looking), but it fades within a week to a more natural color. I've waited to write this review until most of the healing has happened. It's been 3 weeks (she said total healing time is 6) and most of the scabs are off. That was another area I hadn't thought much about. I took the day off work, just in case there was a lot of bleeding, etc. I had no bleeding, no one in my office the next day could tell. I didn't have much pain at all (a slight headache that afternoon) and no redness at all. It was great. I spent the weekend in the woods, wearing a hat to keep the sun off of them and by the end of the weekend, the "scabs" had fallen off. I use the term scab loosely because it wasn't bloody or gross... it looked like I'd just taken a the dark part off. I never shied away from being around people during the healing process. Now, I think they look very natural and I couldn't be happier with the outcome. I'd definitely recommend meeting with Ali if you're considering this type of procedure. It's simple, comfortable, and one of the most affordable (maybe the most surprising part). read more

This is a follow up review following my touch up procedure. Shortly after my initial review, Ali contacted me and wanted to address my review and feedback. She went over each aspect and issue. It's obvious that she cares about her work very much and is a true professional about the constructive (and very public) criticism I provided. During the follow up procedure, she took extra time to help me get the results I wanted including using the finer point needle along with the regular needle she uses. This made ALL the difference. In addition, knowing what to expect with the after procedure care allowed my eye lids to heal properly with better results afterwards. I still think the original experience could have been better including having had the option to purchase the finer point needle and having after care instructions before hand but the professionalism she showed after my initial review, willingness to listen to my feedback and her ability to correct the issues with my liner during the follow up procedure made all the difference. I would recommend to others and am glad I chose Ali at Medspa. Original Review: 3 stars from 5/7/15 I'm really happy with my decision to get permanent eye liner but the experience and result was not really what I expected. I'm hoping the follow up procedure will fix all the issues but I've been told I have to pay for the finer needle to achieve the result I want. NOT something I want to do AFTER the fact and definitely something that should be covered by the original payment of the procedure. The eye pencil you draw on your eye of what you want the permanent make up to look like was impossible to get precise. I wished I had known what I would be working with so I could have either practiced at home or brought in my own liquid liner. Either way, the needle point doesn't get that fine. I was only shown the needle point AFTER the treatment when I said it wasn't what I expected at all. Before the procedure I was just told it would look great and was reassured of any apprehension without actual facts. I should have pushed harder for some details. When I expressed the lines did not fade enough on the inner and outer corners of my eyes (due to the needle being not fine enough), Ali finally said she could have ordered a finer point needle to achieve what I was looking for and that I would have to pay extra for the needle. Having this discussion beforehand would have made the experience okay but now I'm stuck. In addition, I wasn't given any products for cleaning and care of my eye that she said she normally had for her patients. I spent hours after the procedure looking for the specific soap I needed for my eyes when I should have been home with an ice pack to reduce the painful swelling. I'm not sure if the early icing would have made a difference in the healed result but most of the pigment in one eye did not take so I'm heavily dependent on the follow up procedure. I'm not at all happy that I am going to have to purchase my own finer needle after all this for my follow up touch up procedure but at least I'm hoping I'll get the result I want after the fact. I was lured by the great reviews on yelp and probably didn't push for enough specifics because of the consistent reviews. I may feel differently after the follow up procedure but for now, I wished I had gone someplace else. read more

These ladies are so professional and really care!! I came to them with eyebrows that had been done 5 years ago by someone else who used an ink no one had ever seen before. Ali is fantastic. I had gotten my eyebrows tattooed (or attempted to) at a different place in Boulder, and they were hideous. I didn't think there was going to be any way to fix them (the lady who did them tried and made them worse). I found Ali, and from the very beginning - the emailing stage - I felt comfortable. She was quick in responding to emails, showed empathy to my situation, and gave me good advice based on pictures I sent her (without even paying anything or committing to be her client!) I could tell right away that she knew what she was talking about (as opposed to the other lady) and had the medical background to support it. Scheduling the appt was easy and professional, and I went to her 2 locations and both were clean and comfortable. She spent a lot of time with me asking questions about color, shape, tweaks ... etc to make sure she understood exactly what I was looking for. She penciled my eyebrows in and used that as a template, so I knew exactly what was going to happen and there were no surprises! She somehow managed to transform my botched brows to beautiful ones that I'm actually very happy about! I really didn't think it could've been done, but she did it. During the procedure, she made sure to explain all the steps and expected level of pain (it was almost none for me) which made the experience that much more pleasant. Her prices are totally reasonable, too! It was fun to get to know Ali; she chats just the right amount during the procedure so you're getting a friendly experience but it's not crossing any boundaries.
