Since then, I've had that design in my back pocket so that I can recreate that same professional-looking piece (or closed to it) myself for our new home. Now that I have a foyer, I want to showcase our entrance by adding a major centerpiece. I couldn't find those same winter florals at other flower shops- so in comes Colonial Flower S. at the New Paltz Plaza in New Paltz who met me all the way while thinking outside the box. Whether it's cheery+frilly or minimalist, Colonial says it all with flowers and greenery. At the main entrance, you'll find those glass refrigerated coolers; then the shop's backroom is bursting with blooms as the folks work and create arrangements on long table. I'd shown Melissa the arrangement snapshot of what was created for me and although Colonial didn't carry those specific stems I wanted, she IMMEDIATELY thought of plan B and made things so much easier! Price was right and Melissa's fast-thinking, creative skills were on point the entire time. Thank you so much!

Petalos, on Fair St. in Kingston, hit that nail on the head! I met the man behind Petalos- who's bringing a whimsical and cozy oasis to the space. Brian's love of flowers is on full display throughout his shop. Whether my visit on an early Saturday morning was spontaneous or not, the succulents, house plants, pots, gardening items and loose bloom selections here are almost endless. The several stems I selected to create my own arrangement at home all varied in prices from $3-$5 He'd mentioned the names of my individual cuttings- but their names escaped me. I was here for one thing only and Brian made my day. My stems were gathered in a bouquet, wrapped in heavy duty brown paper, lined in green tissue paper and tied elegantly with a navy blue ribbon (with attached care notes). Even with substitutions, I felt cheated as I'd paid almost double the standard price to upgrade to a premium arrangement.
