I have been to this store several times to have notaries done. The previous staff were…read moreknowledgeable and I was satisifed. Yesterday I went back and encountered a new guy. I always ask for the 'Jurat Attached' stamp affixed. This guys said he wont do it, and if he applies a second stamp and signature applied on the first page he will have to charge me the price for two stamps. So I told him I only need the Jurat stamp affixed like before with the previous staff. I may have raised my voice somewhat but he escalated and told me to lower my voice because I perceived this to be a CASH GRAB. He went on to insist that what I was asking was illegal. In actuality what he was offering me was the one that was ILLEGAL. Notary is not allowed to affix more than one signature and stamp per document regardless of the number of pages. I have had this done at this store and at the Alameda store similarly by both store's employees without any problem. The argument went on until this guy told me to take my business to the other UPS stores. And then he called me a BITCH. I am writing this to inform that their notary is WRONG and ILLEGAL for what he was offering. I will be reporting this to the State of CA authorities. The part about me that I was a bitch I accept becasue I responded that he was an assh--le. '' 'The following is the correct rule which I proceeded to take back to the Alameda UPS store - There are two pages to my document. Page One and Page Two. Notary signs and stamps Page two the second and final page. I asked him to stamp 'Jurat attached' on the first page and he agreed. Yes, your notary can absolutely do this, provided they used a generic information stamp and not their official notary seal. There is a critical legal difference between the two types of stamps in California: 1. The "See Attached" / "Jurat Attached" Information Stamp (Allowed) Many California notaries carry optional, commercial administrative stamps that simply print text like "See Attached Jurat Certificate" or "Jurat Attached". Why it's allowed: This is not an official legal seal. It is merely an information label used to cross-reference multiple pages and prevent fraudulent page-swapping. The Rule: As long as this stamp does not contain the notary's name, commission number, or the California State Seal, the notary is allowed to put it on Page One.' For a supposed Notary he is IGNORANT, ILL-INFORMED, INCOMPETENT and a FRAUD especially for offering to sign a second signature as long as I paid him which is completely ILLEGAL. For this alone his notary designation should be voided and him duly penalized. Again - prevent fraudulent page-swapping. I explained this to him but he refused to accept. this. The Rule: As long as this stamp does not contain the notary's name, commission number, or the California State Seal, the notary is allowed to put it on Page One. But he is willing to sign a second signature if he gets to charge me for the second signature. See the picture now? So will the owner/manager (if he is the owner) inform and teach your notary employees the above and to teach him that it is ILLEGAL to inform and try to CHARGE me additionally for the price of a SECOND signature because he is really making this one up as he goes along while cash-grabbing/double dipping. in short he's an ignorant crook. DEAD WRONG on BOTH counts. This is DANGEROUS. I also gave him the middle finger as I left.

This UPS Store is very convenient - located on the ground floor just near the main entrance to the Oakland City Center Marriott and the Hertz office also co-located there. In fact, it was a visit to Hertz that brought me here. The Oakland City Center Marriott (and this UPS Store and Hertz location are) is/are convenient to the freeway, and super convenient by BART. Just get off at the downtown end of the 12th Street station (towards the front of a train travelling in the SF direction), and that puts you right cross the street! Like I mentioned, I was going to Hertz to pick up a car, and I happened to have a small Amazon return in my backpack. My plan was to find a convenient UPS location in the next day or two to return this thing, so it was a time-saving and convenient delight to find one right in front of me and literally next door to where I was going. The store itself is quite small, but neat. The staff was pleasant, welcoming, and patient (yes, it took me a while to find my return code, since I wasn't expecting to need it so soon). All in all it was a nice experience. I don't imagine myself going out of my way to go to this location, but if I do find I need a UPS Store and this one's in my path, I'll look forward to visiting again.

I wasn't really expecting much because, in general, it's unrealistic to assume you can get same-day service, especially if someone travels to various appointments. Fortunately, when I called and gave my address, Simarjit happened to be near the area and was able to fit me into his schedule. He got to my place in less than 20 minutes. Simarjit was friendly, conscientious, and considerate (even asking if he needed to take his shoes off). The whole process was quick, maybe 15-20 minutes. The total cost for one signature was $80, and he did accept credit card. My guess is that the price varies based on where you're located and how many signatures you need notarized. Overall, I had a great experience, so if I ever need to get anything notarized again, I would definitely use Simarjit again. Note: Dont expect that he'll come within 20 minutes because I just got extremely lucky.

I called and made an appointment for 12pm, arriving 15 minutes ahead of schedule and was out of there before noon. It was a quick and easy process. The quality of service was nice - I can't remember the name of the guy who helped me but he texted me the receipt and provided me with the website for where I can check the status of the live scan.
