Great new location, much cleaner and well laid out than the last one with nice PO Boxes

I've been using the services of Jack London Mail for about three years now. It's just a few blocks from where I work, making it super convenient. After moving from Oakley to Paso Robles but still working full-time in Oakland, I needed an easy way to access my mail, so I've been renting a post office box with them ever since. The service has been seamless. The staff accepts packages, tags them, and sends you a notification when they arrive, which has saved me from making unnecessary trips. I've also used their postal and shipping services a few times. They've packed up items for me, and everything has always arrived in perfect condition. The staff at Jack London Mail is great--friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help when you walk in. While I probably won't need their P.O. box services for much longer, I've been really happy with the price and the service over the years. I live next door so this is my go-to place to get stamps, office supplies, and anything having to do with mail. For example the other day I came in to have a package delivered that required a tracking number. They will also except any USPS you need mailed out that day. The customer service is always friendly and helpful. They are opened basically bank hours so get in before 6pm. read more

I am constantly blown away by Jack London Mail. I have lived in Jack London for years and have only gone there and recommend everyone else go there too. Every person that has helped me has been so sweet and helpful. The gentleman today was above and beyond. I was mailing a PlayStation and a Nintendo switch across the US and had been pretty anxious about it. He was extremely careful and meticulous with handling and boxing everything up that it immediately put me at ease. He was just happy to help and never made me feel like I was asking too much, or I was being inconvenient. I am not sure how Jack London Mail manages to hire the absolutely best most genuine people, but I am forever impressed, and I always feel like I am in good hands. read more

Do not rent here! They will open your mail and steal it! I've had all my mail tampered with. If it was the carrier, only that mail would be opened! But yet every package or piece of mail has been opened from different carriers! I'm warning everyone that one or both of these girls are thief's I'm going to a lawyer to sue them for tampering with federal mail! Look at this business owner making his customer out to be the bad guy! What a bad person! This is not about money, never has been! It's about my packages and mail being tampered with! Envelopes being partially opened. Small boxes opened enough to the see the contents. I just paid a years rent here last month for $288.00! So it's not about money. Its about you got thief's working at your store and you are stupid enough to cover for that person and lie for them and lose good customers over it! Warning to all future customers, beware of this guy and his business. I caught them and now he's trying to throw everything he can to make me look bad. If they are so innocent, why did you refuse to help me catch who's opening my mail and just forced a refund in my face and kicked me out! That's great business ethics!? read more

I stopped in to drop off a UPS return, only to find out that they don't do that. She could have just sent me on my way... That is not what happened. There was a UPS truck out front and, 8.5x11 printout in hand, she helped me box it up fast and I caught the truck. Thank you!!! read more

My company has been using their excellent services for close to 2 years now (get a business account for small discount!) and ship almost daily via their Fedex/USPS/DHL options. If you have FedEx boxes in your display window along with other FedEx paraphernalia people are are led to believe you have those items in the store at the customers disposal and that as a FedEx source you will get important packages to their destination on time. They do not. This place is not a reliable source to make sure your package is delivered nor does it have any items in it's display window available for you to use. If you plan on using this place to ship your packages, think again. This is not the best place. read more

This has to be one of the best mailing places I had been in awhile. Even though it was my first time here, I loved the service! The staff member that helped me was friendly and courteous. She helped me ship out my package, including the mailing envelope at no cost. I already had the shipping label included for the package. The whole service was quick and efficient. I would come here again for all my mailing services. It's also like a 3 min walk from my place, which is perfect for me. read more

It's close by in the neighborhood, but my package got stolen from this location. They have a dropoff area that's right by the door and not watched very well, and they discourage giving receipts. "Oh, it's fine, you can leave it right here." ... B.S. The package I dropped off was a return of an expensive item and I'm kicking myself for dropping off a return there because now I've lost several hundreds of dollars from a refund with no receipt or recourse. This place is perfect for thieves or if you want your packages stolen. I won't be coming here again. :( read more

Absolutely love this place. I have used them for my mailbox service, packaging, and sending. They are always on top of the job and go the extra mile to make sure your packages are sent in the most efficient and inexpensive way possible. I live between continents, and Jack London Mail helps me stay connected when I have to resort to snail mail. When I call in, Carmen is always willing to filter out the BS junk mail, list off the important letters, and box it all up cheap and easy to where ever I happen to be in the world. This is a great place if they sell what you are looking for. However, NEVER EVER go in there asking a question. Not only will the rude ass clerk snub you because she doesn't have the answer to your question, but she will then go on to give you excuses to justify her incompetence. I've been here on several occasions because I work down the street. I've even been snapped on because SHE didn't know what a USPS Tyvek envelope was. I work in shipping so it was expected that I would be more knowledgeable than she but the fact that I catch her shitty attitude every time she's asked a question she can't answer makes me apprehensive about coming here. read more

They were able to offer me a custom solution to my problem that no one else was flexible enough to offer. We've been going here for a couple of years now, using their computer to print and scan documents, getting paperwork notarized close to home, and we've now had a mailbox for a couple of months. It seems like mailing a package from here is more expensive than other places, but they're always pretty quick and it gets the job done; I do this so infrequently that it's definitely a matter of convenience over cost! Their mailbox setup seems reasonably priicef and they offer lots of forwarding options, as well as after-hours key fob access. They've recently changes owners, but things seem to be running smoothly! If anything, their notary seems to be there more often, which works for me! read more

Here's the thing: we are right across the street and I'm a new admin person (we let our admin go and my accountant self balks at doing this stuff). Kandice and anyone that has worked here since Kandice took over has done nothing but go above and beyond in the customer service department. Example 1: Fedex-ing two large shipments for a trade show. Our prior admin person kept EVERYTHING, so now all of our shipping forms, etc are super old and out of date. Kandice walked me through everything, and then even brought over, TO OUR OFFICE, backup copies for the next time we needed to ship the same kind of package. I mean, who does that anymore? AMAZING! Example 2: Fedex-ing a very important international package last minute. Guy working in there (sorry, it was rude of me to not get your name), but WAITED for me to fill out the entire form so that we could submit our bid last minute to a prospective new client. Maybe that's not impressive, but us, it meant that we didn't have to schlep downtown and deal with other people. I've got to come in here when our company decides to actually SPEND MONEY. They sell greeting cards too, which I will definitely be getting only from them. Keep on doing what you're doing! read more

I had to head to a FedEx store, so looked this one up online and saw it was open til 6pm... Raced on over and made it at about 6:02pm and they were still there. The employee in the store was super helpful, even though I was in a rush. l've only gone once, but I'll use it again next time I have a package to ship! I'm used to SF meters, but they actually had plenty of free parking in front of the store. read more

Dominique, the store manager, has a seriously bad attitude. She over charged me for my shipment and refused to provide me with a tracking number for my parcel. When I asked to speak to her boss, she stated that I didn't need to speak to him and that she was the boss. I hope the owner takes note of this issue and does something about her. She will ruin his business for sure. read more

Every time I've been to this place, the man who works at the counter is extremely rude. I have been here multiple times, and each time he is worse. Full disclaimer: I only use this location to drop off packages to FedEx and I understand they don't get paid for this. However, if you advertise that you ship FedEx at least be nice to the people patronizing your store! I asked the man a simple question about Saturday shipping -- he handed me the phone and said "Why don't you call 1800FEDEX -- I'm not here to answer your questions." Um...seriously? The exchange went on and continued to go downhill, but it annoys me to even think about repeating it. Awful, awful, awful. read more

Convenient and friendly- YES! There is a surcharge for USPS Flat Rate Shipping. I was shocked it was almost double the Post Office rate. There was a long explanation that blamed the post office for this charge and something about them being an approved vendor... but it seemed implausible, felt disingenuous. It's more likely because they are vendor they have been charged by the post office and are applying that charge to me. That said I should have printed the shipping label online and dropped it in the mail box at work. I'll do that next time and pay what is fair. Flat Rate means flat rate period. Beyond their questionable policies the service is warm and California friendly. read more

I've been here a number of times for various services - to get forms notarized, mail international and domestic packages, purchase large sheets of cardboard for an art project - the team there is helpful, knowledgable and they work quickly and effectively. One shipping experience stands out in my mind as an example of their professionalism: I wanted to ship several heavy packages with long glass rods and glassblowing supplies to Asia. Although there was nothing hazardous in the packages, I was nervous about the packages making it through customs due to their unusual and fragile nature, let alone surviving the trip intact. I had everything packed up already, and Kandice patiently helped me fill out the customs form. She was extremely meticulous, made sure every item was accounted for, and explained where items needed more specific descriptions to ensure prompt passage through customs. We plastered the glass-filled boxes with fragile stickers and I crossed my fingers. The packages eventually made it to Asia on time and intact. Over a month later, I was at the store to ship other packages, and Kandice asked me whether the special packages had made it to their destination safely. I was impressed that she remembered me, and cared to ask! Five big stars. I was surprised to read any negative reviews about Jack London Mail, but having read Kandice's thorough and very fair replies to those reviews, I have even more confidence in JLM's ability to ship things efficiently, safely, and on time. read more
