1 star. Visited Aly Anne's Bar and Grill, 122 E Main St, Dwight. Food was served on paper plates with plastic forks. Drinks were served in plastic cups. I asked for an actual glass and was told "that's how we do it here at Aly Ann's" and laughed at. Bill was over $75. Will not return. read more

First I had a bartender charge me for a bunch of stuff that I didn't order and called and they were ignorant about it and said they refunded it but didn't. And now they charge you a $40 fee for a tab and don't disclose it to you which is illegal by the way. They will refund it but after a couple days and when you ask to talk to them they are ignorant loud and entitled and then kick you out. Their food is to run-of-the-mill Bar Food and they think they can do whatever they want so 100% do not recommend if so look at your bill read more

For the most part it's typical of what you'll find in Dwight. It's not fancy, it's just a little sketchy, but it can be fun. Aly Anne's has a lot of ways to entertain yourself. Cool bar on the back patio. There's also slots. A lot better than expected. It seems a lot of these gaming parlors are sketchy. This actually has a pretty good bar and kitchen to go along with the slots. Many people there weren't even playing games. They actually have a pretty nice patio with a second bar if you would rather go outside. It's about $3 for the cheapest drinks. The food isn't anything special. Basic and mostly greasy. We got the Brauhaus Bavarian Soft Pretzel. It's about $7, which is a lot for it. This probably was frozen and microwaved. Good for games. If not playing on the slots, you can also watch games on the TVs on the patio. They also have Wednesday specials on spaghetti where you choose the pasta, sauce, and toppings. read more

I work in the Dwight area and decided to give this place a try for lunch. The place -- It's pretty large on the inside, but they are currently doing some construction/remodeling inside. I ordered at the bar and was told I could sit anywhere. I went to an adjacent sitting area; there were only 2 small round tables, but only one had any seats around it, so I had a seat. The table had drywall dust (or some type of construction dust) on it and a bent nail. So, obviously not taking much time to make sure the tables are at least clean, and I was there literally at noontime; in fact, I think I was the only person there beside employees. During my lunch, someone was behind the bar in the same building area running a hammer drill in the brick wall (twice), then an angle grinder -- sparks and all. I mean, I understand that they're remodeling right now, but either take a break at lunchtime or just close off that section!! The food -- I ordered a steak hoagie with cheese and grilled veggies (lunch special) and also comes with chips (bag o' frito-lay) and a side of coleslaw. The food was "meh". Although the sandwich was really pretty big, the "steak" was a pre-pressed, burger-type patty and didn't have great flavor on its own, but with the seasoning and veggies, it was palatable, although just a bit greasy. For what it was, I thought it was a bit pricey for just "palatable". Service -- Service was friendly and relatively prompt, although no one came to check on me while dining, but I gather this probably "isn't that kinda place". Overall -- Aly Anne's says it's a "grill and gaming bar", but the emphasis seems to be on the gaming, not so much the grill. The first time I ordered from here, we got it delivered. They sent pasta salad when I ordered cole slaw. Gross. Called back, they ran a cole slaw out. No problem, right? Got a poorboy and it was VERY good. Apparently you need to order it with grilled onions specifically... crazy, I know. It's a poorboy. If you're a fan of poor boys you know it's hard to find them let alone a good one. A week or two goes by and we order again. It was a fiasco. Placed the order and they were about to hang up when I said "wait wait wait, it's for delivery and I'm paying with a card. You need my address and card number I assume." Gave the info. An hour passes. What's up? Called back. Where's my food? We're going on an hour here. They said "yea, we got it here waitin on you. It's ready." Naaa bro. That was delivery, c'mon. So its gonna be cold and gross now, right? "No no it's still good, we just finished it." I knew they were lying but I said whatever. Ok, just bring it. They were here in about 5 minutes after I hung up. Surprise surprise it was cold and gross. No apology, no money off, no free side or any kind of anything. The girlfriend was done. Annie Bobo's was boycotted. Fast forward another couple weeks. She's working overtime, I'm home alone. Had a powerful lust for a poorboy that whole day. Ya know what? It's the covid era, gotta support local business blah blah blah... I talked myself into ordering again and defying the woman's boycott. I'll just go pick it up, that'll solve the problem. HA! "Oh we're actually out of poorboys today." ARE YOU KIDDING ME RIGHT NOW!? Fast forward to 30 minutes ago. Ya know what? I still never got that poorboy and that sounds really good right now. It's been a week, I'm sure they've restocked. They answer the phone and I say "Hi. Ok so first things first. You have poorboys today right?" Actually, we aren't selling the poorboy anymore. "Oh my god, are you serious!? Nevermind!" Dial tone. NOW I'm done. This place will never get another dime from me. The only reason I gave an extra star is because the food IS good. This place was a awesome score for food and drinks @ 9pm on a Sunday night. Dec. 22 even! We had the philly(large) and the 1/2lb angus burger racked across the garden. All veggie burger toppings were FRESH! The philly we asked to add mushrooms and it's was great. Girlfriend and I were on our way back and it's only 45 mins from us and we will be going back. The place isn't fancy but is a nice newer updated bar with lots of flat screens in one of the the older buildings down town. Great food with good prices. read more

Some people we know suggested this restaurant to my husband. I was hesitant as it looked like it might be kind of sketchy from the outside. I was pleasantly surprised. My husband had a burger and I had an Italian beef sandwich. So. Very. Good. The only downside was that it has a limited menu. I would have liked to see other bar food like wings, potato skins, mozzarella sticks, or poutine. We'll definitely visit Aly Annes again! read more
