So he made it his mission to find some options for our regular Pizza Thursday takeout. A Yelp search showed that Jolly Pumpkin in Dexter has the goods I was looking for and we placed an order that week for carryout. And yes!! The photos did not lie. Those perfect little cups were everything I had wanted and more. The cheese was nice and gooey and there's a drizzle of honey that adds a bit of sweetness to the pie. It also comes with peppers but since I wanted to enjoy just straight up pep, we left them off. My husband also ordered the bacon brussels pizza which was also quite good but we agreed that the pepperoni was the star of the show. Dexter is a bit of a drive for us for pizza so I'm not sure how often we'll be doing this but it's good to know I can fulfill my craving when it comes!

Had a Hefeweizen that had a different, crisper flavor than what you might expect, which I don't mind. It wasn't served cold, rather slightly chilled. Might be on purpose to let certain flavors through. Personally, I like beer cold. End of story. Also had their Noel seasonal. Boozy at over 9% however not too heavy or overpowering. Had sugar plum notes, which at first threw me a bit. When paired with the mushroom pizza though, I thoroughly enjoyed. Pizza is solid, nice doughy crust with some char to it. We did, and shortly heard a voice inviting us to come into the adjacent tasting room (open only Friday, Saturday, and Sunday). On premises, you're limited to tastes only--four ounce sample pours, drawn from open cans, are available. Beer to go comes in cans, which you can purchase singly, or in six packs with whatever selections you like. Six pack purchases earn a 15% discount, which is nice since the beer is a bit on the expensive side (see menu pics below). Our favorites were the Marzen and the rye barrel imperial stout (the one that really knocked it out of the park!). The brown ale was excellent too. The man behind the bar was very pleasant to talk to and knowledgeable about beer generally. He told us their beers are available at about 20 local stores, as well as on tap in some bars. I hope to see some of those in the future, or perhaps some extended hours for the tasting room.

(you know you want to sway to Lionel Richie's…read moreballad now) Thus sings every single beer in the microbrew aisle - which, mind you, sounds like a bombastic choir considering how many there are. Most of the voices are silenced by my own internal voice going, "Holy sh*t I do not have 14.99 to spend on a 22 oz. bottle of beer!" Price aside, I've found many beers I wasn't expecting but couldn't find beers that I can find elsewhere. So it's strangely hit or miss. They have a walk-in cooler with a variety of six-packs and some regional/international beers. I found some of my favorite Colorado beers and not others (like Fat Tire, I can find that in other A2 liquor stores but not here). The staff isn't the most helpful or knowledgeable in the world. But they're friendly enough. They have a good selection of rolling tobacco (when I drink I tend to quit quitting and thus return to my Bali Shag ways). Every time I've been in here there's been at least one gentleman who perhaps is a street dweller which makes for quite an olfactory experience. It's a strange contrast to the moneyed undergrads and bourgie grads that sift through the aisles. But no matter. This LIQUOR STORE (where I come from a "party store" is a store with balloons and costumes for children) completes the trifecta along with the Beer Depot and my local neighbor Falsetta's.
