Three stars for the gyoza and four stars for the location.
I mean, HALLELUJAH, finally the dumpling movement has come to Amager. I'm happy when I see this little corner shop on the end of Øresundsvej on an evening walk. I don't mind the facade, the tackier the better, isn't that what good Chinese restaurants always do? Making tacky decor and facade?
I went in and ordered a gyoza menu to bring home. They were having a deal (uh-oh, I hope this means that they will bring in good business, we all know how conservative Danes are when it comes to food!) not that they are closing soon. I had a chat with the owner, elderly Chinese couple. The Chinese lady told me that the guy who owned the place before them (Amager Sushi) retired now, so they took over the place and made it into gyoza place instead.
I got 12 pieces (instead of 10) of pork gyoza to bring home. The owners were friendly and chatty and I was thankful for the extra two. The smell was great and the gyoza was alright. A little bit on the tough side, but maybe because I brought them home instead of eating them there. All in all, I'm thankful that this place exists. read more
