I was on a cruise around the Med, docking in Naples, and wanted to see as much of the Amalfi Coast as possible on our one day in port. I decided a private driver would be the best option and found Anthony Buonocore's service, Amalfi Transfer on Trip Advisor. He had many wonderful complimentary reviews written about him, and on the strength of those reviews, I decided to use his service. I was a tad nervous about our arrangements to meet as the ship had a change of plans... we were meant to tender off Sorrento, but the ship was now docking in Naples. After a quick text to Anthony, he said no problem...see you in Naples, and there he was, waiting for us, on time, with a smiling, friendly face, a gentleman, but full of fun and ready to show me and my friend the beautiful area he calls home. We could not have chosen a better guide as Anthony is a local, born in Amalfi. Anthony was informative, helpful, patient, and provides the total package...when we arrived in Positano, he said girls, you go shopping and I'll wash the car, then we will have a beautiful traditional lunch high in the hills. Anthony's safe and skilful driving around the challenging Amalfi roads was a treat to experience...as he knows the roads like the back of his hand. After a perfect day sightseeing, eating and shopping we headed back to Naples overland through the hills which gave us a different and interesting perspective of the Amalfi region. I have recommended Anthony to so many of my friends, as I know he is the best driver, with a great personality. His fleet of late model vans and cars are very clean and comfortable, and he will not only plan with you an exciting day/s tour around Italy's most beautiful and picturesque region...but as Anthony loves to sing, he will serenade you as well....what more could you ask for, but to be sung to by a lovely Italian man as you tour the Amalfi Coast.....Volare OhOh !! I wanted to recommend Anthony Buonocore and amaliftransfer.com. I received Anthony's contact out of the Rick Steves travel book of Italy. I got a very quick response to my email and set up a trip from Naples train station to Positano. He was waiting for us at the train station with a sign in hand and a big smile on his face. We had a nice ride to Positano and it seemed Anthony knew everyone we passed on the road. He is from the area and had a lot of histories to tell us. He is a very sweet and a jovial man. He speaks great English and has a lot of good stories to share. We also booked a day trip to Pompeii on our return to the train station a few days later. Anthony set up a guide for us so it was a fun quick tour of Pompeii. Besides being extremely friendly and very knowledgable about the area he was an extremely safe driver. We were for sure in good hands on the beautiful roads of the Amalfi Coast. I would recommend Anthony and his company. At the end of our trip he gave us a nice book of the Amalfi Coast. We have visited the Amalfi coast twice and plan to visit again this year. Our experiences wouldn't have been the same without having had Anthony as our tour guide. Each time, Anthony was waiting outside our ship.He has beautiful vans for one two or a bus full. Anthony has a wonderful, friendly personality and he knows the area well. He took us to beautiful restaurants overlooking the sea, and to a cheese maker, as well as pottery maker. Each time, we were so thrilled with the very personal tour we got, that could not have been experienced from a cruise excursion. IN addition, the cost of the day was very fair. If you want to be picked up on time and shown around by a local, then Anthony is your man. He may even show you where the locals eat...much better than where the tourists go! What can you say about Anthony? Efficient, reliable, worry free transportation service. I asked Anthony to meet me at my hotel in Rome, and take me to my hotel in Sorrento. I admit I was anxious about the connection since I didn't know Anthony from a hole in the wall. He arrived on time and as scheduled. He was pleasant, and informative. I was so delighted with his service, I booked a day excursion with him to take me along the Amalfi coast! It's an understatement to say that he knows every twist and turn of that road. I have toured twice with Anthony (Amalfi Transfer) when our ship landed in Naples. He is a great tour guide and since its a private tour you can customize it. He's an excellent driver since the roads are winding. He has taking us to where they make mozzeralla and to a restaurant where we made our own pizza. We also stopped at a winery and roadside stands where I got the best olive oil. Along your trip make sure he signs to you, what a voice. We also met his mom on one trip.
