As others describe, we bought the Black Friday special for a cake smash session in 2025 and when we tried to schedule the actual appointment, Amanda would not return our calls and emails. We asked for our money back, but she never got back to us. She took our money without giving us any services. She took our money and we have no pictures. read more

We had used Amanda for child and family photographs going back several years. They were always beautiful, although scheduling last year was a challenge. Last November, we purchased Amanda's Black Friday 2024 sale for sitter and cake smash sessions for our newborn. The purchase stated our baby's sitter session would be between 6-10 months (March-June). I reached out to Amanda in April to request the Black Friday coupon code and wouldn't pay twice, but never got a response. In May through July, my family tried multiple ways (email, text, voicemail) to reach Amanda to get the coupon code - only to be meet with silence. We've now passed the 10-month mark and missed the opportunity to take these pictures for our 2nd child. Since we can't get a hold of her, we aren't even bothering with cake smash session and are now looking for another photographer. The Black Friday charge has been disputed with our credit card company since we paid for services that were never delivered. On top of this, we took Fall 2024 photos and never received those photos. We got the Christmas 2024 photos, but too late for them to be used in any Christmas cards. All we want is our fall 2024 photos. read more

I was referred to Amanda a couple of years ago for family photos. And given the photos do look professional, we have had multiple issues with this business. She guaranteed our photos would be delivered within a week, but after multiple calls and emails the first time we had photos taken with her, She finally responded stating that her editor was sick even if that was the case a quick call back or text message would have been nice. We decided to give her another chance this year, given the fact that a $300 deposit was taken out for a appointment in September for some reason the code to her 30% discount was for 2024 only, which I can understand was not going to be Discounted for our September photos of 2023. What I don't understand is why she took out the rest of the money without authorization through my credit card. And then when called and asked why the transaction has happened before completion of our photo shoot, she does not have the decency to call back, but just text and let me know that it was an "automated system" through Square. I called my bank right away and found out that this was a "in person" transaction. Given her credibility and lack of trust, I will not be doing business whatsoever with Amanda Donohoe photography, shame on you and your business practices. You do not take money out of peoples credit cards without authorization, or at least have the courtesy of letting them know. Ot does not State anywhere in the contract that you will be taking additional payment out Of clients credit cards at anytime. I don't care how good your photos turn out, your lack of professionalism speaks louder. Please beware. read more

I'm writing this in tears as Amanda canceled my son's 1st birthday pictures the night before, via email. I mentioned I was nervous due to the cost and then get an email stating: "I think because you are so unsure of everything and so nervous I will just refund your session. It doesn't sound like we are a good fit. I don't want to go into a session with a client who is afraid I won't meet expectations." As a single first time mom with a limited budget and very little help, I asked questions and mentioned I was nervous due to the cost. Never did I express fear that she would not "meet expectations". I will happily post our emails. My questions were if I should bring props and what color I should wear. I then asked if I could include my sister in my picture with my baby, because I'm a single mom and she has been so helpful to our little family. Amanda wanted to charge extra for that, although she would not have if that person were my partner, which seems an unnecessary tax upon being a single parent. I agreed however, because I wanted as much love as possible in my son's photo. I'm saddened by how she treated us, and hope there was no another reason we were treated so differently from these other reviewers. read more

With our daughter arriving over a week before her due date, my husband and I were a little behind in vetting newborn photographers and setting up her first shoot. Fortunately, we narrowed our search down to Amanda Donohue Photography and we are so glad we did! Right off the bat Amanda was responsive, kind, and informative. She provided us with several pre-shoot preparation options and suggestions to help us get the most out of our shoot. Her studio is clean, spacious and has a great variety of outfits and themes to choose from. She also wears a mask and uses hand sanitizer before handling your baby which we appreciated. During the shoot, my husband and I sat in awe as we watched Amanda try different calming techniques on our fussy daughter. I've used Amanda a total of 3 times now. I found her by doing some extensive research online, and loved her photos! I have used her for my son's cake smash, and 2 family fall sessions. Amanda is amazing - her photos speak for themselves, but beyond that - she's just an amazing person. You can't help but smile when you're in her presence, and she is just so fun and personable to work with! There won't be any fake smiles in your photos- her and her husband do an amazing job making sure that your family is having fun taking the photos. Even my 2 year old son was all smiles for a FULL hour. Her husband also does a great job keeping kids laughing and smiling at the camera while she snaps away. Her photos are so bright and lively. Seriously, beyond her photographing skills (which are incredible), her and her husband are just awesome people to be around! Our newborn photo session with Amanda was quite simply out of this world! The photos Amanda managed to take of our very fussy baby are so gorgeous. Amanda seriously has the patience of a saint. She makes crazy, sleep-deprived, new parents feel so comfortable during the shoot! The time that goes into Amanda's beautiful compositions is clear from the second you walk in the door to her studio. After consulting with you, Amanda spends hours in advance of you session setting up the little scenes so they reflect you and your little baby's taste. She is able to move through all the shots as quickly as baby allows. It's so important to understand that baby sets the pace - and that's ok! Safety and comfort are top priorities for Amanda during the shoot. Sometimes an entire hand can get photoshopped out in order to get one adorable shot. Amanda provides snacks, water and respite from the heated studio (she keeps it warm so the baby is comfortable in all the tiny little outfits). Just make sure to eat a meal beforehand as the session can last for a few hours if your baby is fussy (like my little one). Preview shots were delivered SO quickly and final photos came soon thereafter. We could not have been more pleased with our session and the photos! Worth every penny!!! read more

There are not enough wonderful things to say about Amanda. She is talented, creative and an overall amazing human being. Our toddler was an absolute nightmare the day we scheduled our outdoor photoshoot and Amanda managed to charm her into taking some wonderful family photos. As crazy as this sounds, we drive from PA twice a year for shoots for our toddler. Amanda is just that good. She has so many backdrops and outfits--we are always able to find just the right look and theme for our little guy. She is forever calm, patient, and attentive to detail, so she always gets the perfect shot. When I thought about booking a newborn photographer, I was concerned that I would end up feeling like the end results were "OK" or "good," but not what I hoped for. Looking back, I am so glad we worked with Amanda because she completely WOW'ed us and delivered outstanding pictures that we will cherish forever. Definitely exceeded expectations. First of all, Amanda is one of the most patient and friendly individuals I've ever worked with. When you have a session going, it's your time, and she'll do whatever it takes to get the perfect shot -- even if that means spending 15 or 20 minutes to make sure baby's fingers and hands are in the right position. She'll work with you to re-create photos you've seen on her website (or elsewhere), but she is also creative enough to take vague descriptions of what you like and turn them into well crafted scenes. Second, she's just very good at what she does. The composition and framing are excellent, and the photos just come out looking magical. She shoots from the right angle -- whether that's on the floor or on a step stool -- and it shows in her pictures. She has an extensive collection of props and outfits in every style and color, and she'll find what works for you and your family. Amanda has outdone herself AGAIN! She did my 2nd daughter's photos and of all the sessions I have done with her, (9 sessions) the last one was simply AMAZING! Fantastic! I highly recommend Amanda. Her work is incredible - we did maternity/infant combo and I cannot be happier with the results. Importantly, she is able to work with infants to the point of scary (baby whisperer). Her studio is extremely cozy and has everything you need - whatever ideas you have, she will make them a reality. Also, she is very flexible and understanding - she will happily reschedule if you, your SO, or your baby is sick, or if your baby is super fussy during the shoot and you get no good shots (so nice of her). We have now used Amanda for newborn pictures for both our daughters. She is beyond talented and the photos from both sessions came out amazing. During our most recent shoot we wanted family photos including the newborn and toddler, but since our toddler was sick we only wanted them near each other for a few minutes max. Amanda was able to pull this off and take perfect shots in a very short time. For the remainder of the shoot Amanda spent several hours patiently trying to get our newborn to cooperate. After several hours she suggested we return a few days later. We returned the next week and Amanda again generously spent several more hours. Since the baby was still a little fussy I really wasn't sure how the pictures would turn out. I received the online album in less than a week and they were PERFECT. I recently had maternity shots and newborn photos taken with Amanda and she is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! I promise you will NOT be disappointed, she is a must for your photography needs! Two words, stunning - memorable!! Professional photographers seem to be everywhere but Amanda is the true diamond in the rough. She has a true passion that you'd expect from a pro and we felt comfortable right away. In fact I remember laughing, a lot!
