When the next opportunity arrived,I went ahead and booked her. It was a rare moment of being thankful for spam emails. (After not hiring her, i would get emails of mini sessions.) What I've learned after 4 babies, is that a good photographer is worth the price. Moments float by quickly and the next best thing to a time machine is a great photo. In the end, Naz is not expensive. She is upfront with her prices. Other photographers can either be subpar or will up sell you once their session is over. I will tell you that I hate pictures and am very critical in the way I look in them. I was surprised at how great i looked. My oldest has the most unnatural smile, kid #3 thinks he's funny and will do the opposite of what you ask and the baby hates strangers. I thought it was going to be the worse day ever. But on a chilly december day, naz had the best idea to meet at the national gallery of art.easy access to bathrooms and we ate lunch in the cafeteria. She was so great and provided a smooth experience. Driving home my husband obviously forgot who naz was and asked if she was someone I knew from before. Apparently he thought we were high school buddies because of our interaction. Plus I hate new ppl just like the baby. I received my usb pictures today. She worked with me to narrow down our location and vision (I was scattered and had a lot of conflicting ideas) -- all with patience, calm and a steadiness that made me feel super confident with our final plan. Did I mention, I kept changing my mind on everything...?! Naz is super creative, personable and has a magnetic presence that makes you feel completely at ease. Even my super wiggly, active and spazzy 2-year old (who, at the time, was a late walker and just getting a handle on moving around on his own) sat still for and gravitated toward the camera. And, with BIG smiles! I couldn't believe it. She has a sharp and very keen eye and was able to capture our family's true essence perfectly. I'm so happy I found Mary Catherine Photography. I went through various hashtags on Instagram to…read morefind someone who was doing fall minis, and just couldn't have gotten luckier. Not only were the photos fast (you're in and out in 20 minutes) but we got TONS of great shots in a variety of poses. She made the toddler in the family look like a child model and managed to make him smile a genuine smile for every shot he's in. Magic! My husband's sister lost her job due to COVID, so she's temporarily playing nanny to her cousin's toddler. There's so much about the pandemic that isn't great, but having so much family so close by for once is a small silver lining to this whole thing, and we wanted to document it by getting some family shots. Even though it was an overcast, humid day, the pictures all came out great and are cheerfully gloomy, with rich dark green backgrounds and pops of color from our outfits. We had trouble choosing our favorites! She even rolled with the punches when I brought some fans with other cousin's faces on them so they could "be" in the photo we send to Grammy and just acted like that was a fine and normal thing to bring to a shoot :).

I came to Lindsey with my 3 month old and very cranky 2 year old (hello, toddlers are NEVER easy!) and she managed to juggle them both. My toddler was not in the mood to take pictures and he cried pretty much the entire time, but Lindsey was kind and patient with him, giving him toys to keep him happy and distracted, and still managing to wonderfully capture him on film. She has beautiful props and backdrops and she is able to fine tune her pictures to excellence. I promise you, you will not be disappointed. I will be traveling back to her (from CANADA) for my daughter's one year cake smash - yes she's worth it.

I was told I would receive 15 photos within 2 weeks and I actually received 11 photos in 2 days. They were not headshots, I was poorly posed and there was no attention to detail (I was squinting, bra showing, etc). I would not recommend Lindsey as she is not professional and does not take feedback that isn't positive very well. Unfortunately i consider our session a loss for both of us.
