I made a reservation for the Bikini Boot camp for me and my daughter and tried to cancel 1 hour later (they have no phones so I had to send an email) and they contacted me 24 hours later saying they are keeping a $1000 as a cancellation fee! That is insane! There is an industry wide 24 grace period. Even the airlines give you 24 hours to cancel!! The blonde girl who works here is so sweet and very helpful. She was amazing and the highlight of our stay here and gave us recs. However, the reclaimed water for showers smelled like sewage and it's almost impossible shower because of the smell, my boyfriend literally just jumped in the pool to avoid it and I'm pretty sure we got sick from it. The food is basically the menu from cafe gratitude in Venice and priced the same (breakfast is good). The only thing that appears to be eco friendly about the resort is the AC policy (only turns on at 8pm), so I definitely don't recommend it over hot or humid months. read more

Hidden fees, shady business practices and strong arm tactics! Desperation is a stinking cologne, and unfortunately, Amansala can be sniffed from a mile away... After asking to be moved from an unfinished room which had non-working AC, exposed live wires and an intermittent smell of feces, my bags were moved without my permission to a new (beautiful) beach front cabana. 5 days later with no indication that there would be an up-charge, I was told that this room was an upgrade and that I should pay almost $700 US! Instead of believing my side of the story- that I was never notified of the room upgrade cost or given a choice of which room to move to- the GM insisted that I come in for a mock trial with the employee whom I dealt with! The GM said, "Either you or the employee are going to pay the bill. Are you going to make a poor mexican pay for your room?" This type of shady shakedown tactic was certainly not appreciated! After a long discussion which ate up my last afternoon in Tulum, I paid a portion of the bill to simply get the heck out of dodge! In addition to the sadly bald faced greed of this hotel, one should NOT consider this a yoga/eco retreat. This is more truthfully an overpriced hotel that jumped on the bandwagon of yoga and continues to build yoga shalas on top of existing structure with no real forethought now that there are so many other more luxurious hotels up and down the beach. read more

I have no doubt this was once s lovely hotel, perhaps a decade or so ago. I understand eco-chic and eco-resort, but this is moldy smelling, run down, thin walled and in desperate need of a dramatic update. They have a new wing that does seem lovely - they should consider condemning the older side and starting fresh. I would compare this hotel to a run down 200 rupee hotel in rural india. The Mexican staff is fantastic The Western staff is mediocre at best. They do try to be kind, but the information they give is mixed and not always correct. I was given the runaround about my "beach front king" which I paid extra for and booked in advance. It was really a basement room in front of a bar. I asked to move so they offered me a room in front of the main bar with my small child. They neglected to tell me that there would be music playing all day and until 10 PM. If you are going to charge 300-400 / night for a room, the room better be worth it. The Western staff was misinformed about the guests arriving to the hotel so when I asked to switch my room they put me in a room that was already booked and reserved. I had to move my room 3 times with my 17 month old son with in one day of my arrival. They offered me no compensation, not even a free drink. The staff is pretty clueless save for one lovely gentlemen. There is absolutely no way to get anyone on the phone to help you prior to your arrival. They work only via email. You can never get in touch with the same person twice. Ever. Its very confusing to figure out who is responsible for what and no one will remember speaking to you if you have an issue. If you have a problem and you need to cancel, forget it. Even if its death or sever illness. Forget it. They will never - I repeat NEVER give you any of your money back. Yes, I understand hat business is business, but sometimes things do happen. Even airlines make exceptions and 90%% of hotels in the world do tool My son was very sick and I wrote them along with doctors instructions not to come, they didn't seem to care. No compensation. None. The owner of the hotel is horrid. She is honestly one of the rudest and brashist people I have met in a long time. If you are going to stay here just be prepared to rough it, and make sure you are going to show up. Be prepared to camp - like camping and I don't mean "clamping". You may get sick from the food, but again, you are in Mexico. You may catch something from the towels or from the mold on the floors. But the beach is lovely and there are fantastic restaurants within walking distance, and the Mexican staff is absolutely lovely. read more

This place is not what it looks like on the website. The rooms are very run down and the beach is heartbreakingly not a beach anymore. There is a 4 foot high wall of sargassum seaweed that stretches all along the beach for miles. And the smell is incredibly foul and toxic to humans. Google it and you'll be shocked at the disaster going on here. The seaweed comes in huge patches and washes ashore and they have men raking up an insurmountable mountain of sargassum that never ends, so they end up moving it into a bigger mountain that completely blocks and ruins the beach. Oh and it turns that beautiful blue water brown. The rooms. Like I mentioned they are very worn and have a hostel like feel to them and are stacked so closely together you can hear people clearing their throats in other rooms. Bugs are everywhere (yes in your room) and in the morning there are several roaches dead on the floor to greet you. Yuck. The positive is that the food is clean and was very good. But be prepared to be charged for everything at a big markup and if you inquire further about a price, (15 minute cab ride for 60$US) you get attitude from the staff. It is a shame because years ago Tulum was a special little place. That's gone now. read more

Website is TOTALLY deceiving and the vibe is unfriendly. My boyfriend and I just returned yesterday from a 4 night stay at Amansala and we are completely disappointed. We really dig the concept of 'eco-chic'. The fact that there is only AC from the hours of 9:30pm-7am is understandable. So is having to place toilet paper in a waste basket. We get it. But here is what is NOT cool about what we personally experienced at Amansala: -numerous unfriendly staff members who have an attitude when you ask for help with anything -unwelcoming staff who did not explain anything to us upon arrival or at all -ants all over our hotel room floor -no ceiling fans -dirty and smelly yoga mats and an unkept yoga room -no umbrellas or cabanas with shade -our reservation included breakfast yet every morning we were met with some issue about what we could or couldn't have as part of this. -no door on the bathroom and no door on the toilet! -they charge $10/day to rent bikes (and make you leave your ID) to use the bikes which are a hunk of junk- literally rusted and falling apart. My bf's seat fell off mid trip. I had to try three bikes before I found one that worked. -The place looks nothing like the website and is completely unkept and falling apart. -overall negative vibe -The restaurant menu states that gratuity is not included so we made sure to tip on every meal we had there. When we received our bill at the end of the trip we noticed that they had charged random tip amounts for each meal. -We could hear every conversation from the room next door to us. The walls are paper thin. We also clear as day could hear them using a hair dryer and a fan which we were told we were not allowed to use at Amansala. -We booked reservations for an evening sound healing event and scheduled our day around this event. As we walked from our room to the event we asked a staff member where exactly it was being held. She looked puzzled and told us that it was canceled due to low enrollment and wondered why we didn't know because she had made an announcement to the groups at lunch. So even though our full names and room number were on the sign up sheet, since we were not at lunch to hear the 'announcement' we did not get the memo. I really could go on and on about the low value service and experience we had... I would never stay at this hotel again. I was actually looking to host a yoga and wellness retreat here and that will never happen. I've hosted and been a part of many yoga retreats and I was appalled by the vibe here. I'm pretty go with the flow. I've lived in Ashrams in India and am an avid camper. I can handle some ants on the floor and a toilet with no door, but what I can't tolerate is an unfriendly, unwelcoming overall vibe, and unorganized operation. This is actually my first Yelp review ever. I felt it was important to share. My boyfriend and I discovered SO many other LOVELY eco-chic hotels along the strip that offer SO much more than Amansala. Please do not be deceived by the pretty website. It's nothing like the actual experience. I'm bummed that I didn't read all of the previous negative Yelp reviews until afterwards! Just got back from Tulum and our stay at Amansala for 4 nights. My purse got stolen out of the room and I don't think it is worth the price and here is why... We booked 3 days of yoga and the temescal experience, I believe we got a discount for pre-booking but the classes are $20 each! That's as much as they charge in crazy LA. Overpriced. Originally there were 3 of us but 1 of the girls got pregnant so couldn't go, they would not refund her stating ZICA was not an issue in that area (really?). Instead they "upgraded" us to sea view room for half of her payment $500 and told us we would have to use the rest up in hotel credits $440. We agreed to pay her cash for the $440 credit and she ate up the $500! The rooms are basic but the kicker is there are no locks. They told us to put valuables in the safe but the safe is small and didn't fit my leather backpack purse so I left that out next to my luggage. It got stolen on the first day out of our room while we were on the beach! I reported this to the front desk and got the run around about checking the cameras for the entire 5 days we were there! More on this below...Also no AC until May 15th, it was 90-100 degrees, fans don't cut it. The beach was beautiful on the first day but everyday after that is was filled with seaweed. The restaurant is good, drinks are good but be prepared to pay serious prices. We weren't part of the bikini boot camp and it seemed most of the activities were geared to them. Yoga room was nice and the classes were good but they don't really start on time sometimes. Most of the staff is friendly, the only ones that weren't were the ones running the events. Temescal was only available one 1 day we were there and we ended up missing it bc of a tour, luckily they refunded us because we gave a stink about already having too much credit. Back to the stolen purse, I checked every day with the reception on the status of the videos and just kept getting told first that they checked our time out of the room during dinner then that they had to wait for a guy to look at the rest of the day then for them to tell me on the last day that they found nothing. They said I could file a report with the police but we all know that doesn't do anything. I understand that they are not liable but why don't they have locks?! Also how could the videos not have shown anything?! At the end of it all they refunded us $40 for my purse and ended up refunding us the temescal plus the remainder of our credit thankfully. I wish I could've left a better review but I got a bad taste in my mouth from day 1 and I wasn't really comforted through out the trip. Visited late March and into early April. One week for a yoga retreat. Amansala chica: Rooms are simple and plain with basic accommodations. There is no AC although there is one mounted on the wall. The fan is your only cool down. Just a few towels and a beach towel. They were clean. Two free bottles of water but there are water stations here and at the main Amansala. The rooms have no locks and you store your valuables in a small safe in the room. Stayed at a king bed, non beach that was closer to the jungle. So it was a lot hotter and didn't have much ocean breeze. Most things take place at the main place which is a quick 3-5 min walk if you walk on the street or on the beach. That where the restaurant, bar, yoga studio, clothing shop, children playground, fire pit, small pool, etc is. Here and at Amansala there are loungers on the beach. Food was good - every meal had avocado in some fashion. Note that my meals were inclusive of my stay. So did not eat off the menu. The drinks at the bar were not cheap by Mexican standards and reflect typical northeast/east coast prices. Staff was fine, no complaints and didn't go out of the way to help you. Most spoke English or was able to carry a simple conversation. The beach was gorgeous despite the explosion of seaweed. The resort didn't clean it daily so we ventured down the beach to find a cleaner place to hang out. But if you lounging without going into the water, it was fine. Water is clear so you see the seaweed swirling around. The waves were rough and it was windy all the time. Across the street and on the jungle side, there are restaurants, bar, shops, coffee places and even gelato at origami. Quite yummy. Overall, come with the expectations that there isn't a lot of amenities. And be prepared to stay rather simply. It took a day or two to adjust, but before you know it you were living Tulum style. Tip to bring bug spray and lot of sunscreen with high spf. Apply often has the sun is very hot. read more

The facilities were ok but at the time of my checking out I had a massage book under my daughters name which she never did and they didn't even care to listen when I said she never have a massage . I told them I need to see the person who put my daughter name on the system and they didn't know who was I spoke with the manager but they kept insisting that I have to paid for something we never did . I told them to bring the masseuse so they face time her and when she confirm it wasn't my daughter the manager still asked her ... are you sure it wasn't her . This review is just for the boutique run out of the resort. We rode our bikes past the boutique twice and curiosity got the better of me - and it was SO worth it! They carry truly unique dresses and I ended up splurging and getting a dress and a tank top. The only compliant I have was when it came time to pay - my visa credit card required a pin - something I don't even recall ever setting up or using. So there were multiple swipes and to no avail. Eventually I biked back to my resort to grab a different credit card, because I refuse to use the ATMs. All that aside, I still get compliments on the dress I purchased at this store. I am currently on day 3 of 5. A friend and I are participating in the bikini bootcamp program in an effort to reboot and continue reaching our fitness and health goals. From the moment we got off of the airplane, the staff and Amansala has been incredibly friendly and helpful. We had transportation waiting at the airport for us. Check-in was very quick. We were brought to our comfortable and cozy room with a gorgeous beach view. From there, we were brought to a gorgeous yoga room overlooking the ocean for an orientation and introduction. Shortly after, our group (all the bikini bootcamp participants) met for dinner. The following day and days have been filled with exceptional yoga, fitness classes (with very friendly, energetic and knowledgeable instructors) massages and activities (we did a fun bike ride to the Mayan ruins, stopped for a margarita on the way back) and last night we participated in a sweat lodge activity). The resort itself is clean, the beach is gorgeous, and the food is outstanding! Amansala is not a luxury hotel with linens changed daily, so if you are expecting that, you may want to look elsewhere. It does not advertise itself to be that, so I'm not sure where other reviewers got their information prior to booking their stay. However, if you need anything, the staff is always available to help. In fact, my friend got ill with Strep throat upon arrival, and the staff arranged for a doctor to come to our room to treat her. Be prepared to miss a few days of vacation and get a shot to help relieve terrible stomach pain at a cost of $150 per person because by my count about one half of guests are sick. All 4 of us got sick and immediately upon arrival 11 guests told us ON THE FIRST DAY that they were still sick or just recovering from being sick. Contrast that with our email to the hotel asking about this because we had heard of this from a guest whose retreat was canceled. The hotel claimed only one guest was sick and that is a complete lie. The doctors were here everyday multiple times a day administering shots. There was a large retreat while we were here with maybe 50 women and I spoke with many of them and they reported that more than half got sick in one week. That was not the only group. I spoke with many guests who arrived before and after us and lots and lots of people were getting Sick. IT IS RAMPANT HERE. Some staff also reported being sick. DO NOT GO. The hotel sends you a CBS news link that claims that post covid, the norovirus is on the rise. Please. Most vacation hotels don't have about half the guests getting medical treatment at a time. THIS IS UNIQUE TO AMANSALA. You should also know the air conditioning was out an entire night which is miserable when you are up all night vomiting. read more

I went to the Amansala for a retreat for 4 days. The resort is ridiculously expensive for what you get and of course wi-fi only works in the tiny area in the front. My room (the garden room) was situated right outside a construction zone that started in the wee hours of the morning and lasted until 11:30pm (I got to bed at 9:30pm). Also it's hot (duh) and they only allow the AC at night - they say from 10p to 7am but that is a definite lie as i woke up covered in sweat at 7am. I complained about the construction and they did nothing and even refused to discount my stay. I would not recommend staying here at all. read more

I had an absolutely incredible experience at Amansala! I went for a relaxing solo yoga retreat. The hotel is absolutely breathtaking with incredible sea views. The yoga/meditation instructors were some of the best in the world. It was a such an enjoyable experience to practice with them and learn from each of them. The staff was kind, friendly and always helpful to assist during my stay. They even went above and beyond to help in assisting me with a lost item I left at the airport after I departed the country. My daughter and I enjoyed 4 nights at the resort. We felt every part of the experience was magical. The food was delicious and healthy. The people who taught the yoga and the work out classes were form all over the planet, caring, professional and completely knowledgeable. The entire servicing staff had a can do attitude and worked very hard to go out of their way to please. The location breathtaking with echo chic rooms, restaurant and facilities hosting the classes and special activities. The massage was killer and the overall spirtual aura with a mix of mayan hertitage made it unique. It's not a 5 star fancy place. More a 5 star organic beautiful and meaningul place. I would reccomend going alone, with friends, with family. A community of caring people appreciating and sharing the beauty of the surroundings. read more

I REALLY needed a vacation. I wanted a heathy, hot beach vacation to get back to myself and to relax but to also be active and have some adventure. I hadn't been to Tulum for 10 years. I loved it then but I had heard it wasn't what it was, still cool but that it was built up and that the beaches were over run with seaweed. For whatever reason Tulum was calling. It had everything I was yearning for and I decided to go anyway. I began to search all the new hotels along the water to find the right one for me. I wanted solitude but close the action of the incredible nightlife and restaurants. I wanted yoga, and a beautiful beachy sexy rustic room that faced the water.. and I wanted a small pool. I found everything I was looking for at Amansala. I signed up for their Yoga Bliss package. Everything was taken care of after that my beautiful room, the incredible yoga, healing massages, the beautiful beach and water that I swam in everyday. The arranged for me to go to the ruins and cenotes and the food, drinks and hospitality and staff were all divine. I explored all the other hotels hotels down the beach, went to cool restaurant and bars but was alway glad I had the perfect Amansala sanctuary to return to. 100% blissed out after staying at Hotel Amansala, what an unexpected surprise. I'm from a small town in New York traveling for the first time to Mexico, not knowing what to expect alone. On my arrival I was greeted by such a warm soul by the name of Angel, and yes he was to say the least. Moreover, it was a pleasant surprise knowing I wasn't the only solo traveler. I was able to sign up for beachfront yoga classes and meditation. I felt right at home and met like minded women that made this trip the best unexpected surprise. So much warmth and hospitality from arrival to departure, I couldn't bare to leave so I extended my trip with Angel that gave me to great of a rate to leave. read more

BEWARE! I booked on Monday 4/27 at 9:30 pm. Paid in Full Excited to visit with my sister and my two daughters for my 50th birthday . Bikini Bootcamp here we go ! On Tuesday I sent them an email extremely concerned by the many negative reviews which includes filthy towels and sheets in addition to guests becoming sick due to the food. I requested a phone call with them. I was told that they barely have phone connection and this was impossible . I asked how could they reassure me I made the right choice - after several exchanged emails I decided to cancel my June 15th trip. (Almost 7 weeks away ) Possibly postpone until I researched them a bit more. 48 hours after my reservation was made and with my trip so far away, they forfeited $500 cancellation penalty fee ... I'm still waiting to hear if this is per person or per reservation ..... This alone speaks for itself . Any other confident establishment would of apologized for my decision , suggest I further investigate and given me a personal phone call. read more

I was on a Yogaworks yoga retreat at Amansala May 17-24, 2014 where 33 of 36 people (including the teacher) became critically ill, I spent 2 days in a hospital in Mexico. We were told the food we were eating was safely prepared, as well as the water in the bathroom was safe to brush our teeth with. I and many others have been critically sick for over a month, many seeking urgent care. Melissa Perlman the owner of Amansala has only responded once to my many emails and has not responded to any of my other companion's emails. I have been to Mexico many times and traveled the world, I have never been so sick in my life nor have I ever spent a night in the hospital until this experience at Amansala. After hours of diarrhea, vomiting, extreme dehydration and fever, I was taken in an emergency ambulance to the closest hospital which is an hour away (my US doctor said I could have died if not hospitalized). The next day my roommate complained to Melissa the owner and several workers that my vomit was all over the floor and in the trash can in our room. The vomit was not cleaned up for over 12 hours, festering in the heat. Owner Melissa Perlman claims that we all caught the norovirus which is similar to viruses found on cruise ships. Norovirus only lasts a few days. The virus we all have has lasted over a month. She also claimed that we cannot blame Amansala because some people didn't eat at Amansala and could have picked up this virus somewhere else. After communicating with everyone who was sick on our retreat, many people ONLY ate at Amansala, most of us ate all of our meals at Amansala. I have emailed Melissa many times asking that I get the several nights I paid for my hotel room reimbursed because I spent them in the hospital. I also asked that I get my meals reimbursed. Melissa has not responded to any of my emails about this. So far I have spent over $4000 in medical bills (Mexican hospital, US doctor, GI specialist). Getting reimbursed for the hotel and meals that I did not use would be helpful in what has become a very expensive and unhealthy experience at Amansala, I have lost over a month of work/life due to this illness. I have reported this incident to the CDC in Mexico and the US. This is not a "normal Mexico bug" but is a serious health issue with so many people becoming critically ill. Melissa Perlman/Amansala's lack of communication and care for their customers, in addition to the lack of hygiene that has made so many of us sick, I could never recommend this place to anyone. The Yogaworks retreat following ours was scheduled to be at Amansala cancelled because they found out how dangerously sick everyone got on our retreat. I could never recommend the place unless you want to loose your health and be treated poorly. Also now looking back at past TripAdvisor reviews, there have been groups getting sick at Amanala dating back to 2007. read more

In full disclosure, I did not stay here. However, I did book private yoga session, massages and access ton"beach club". I booked this a few weeks in advance as the staff told me "they were very busy and had to secure in advance payment." We arrived fire for private yoga. On arrival, the staff already seemed annoyed at us and very smug. Some Australian man who was extremely condescending was interacting with us. After yoga (which was mostly good) I told the man at the front desk that we were ready for our massages. He was confused and told us that we had in fact booked them for 3 hours later, even though I confirmed with a colleague of his that we would start immediately after. He was non apologetic and as part of our group was heading out of Tulum to catch flights, they were unable to take the massages. He told us there would be no way we would get refunded. We had to scramble to get others in our group to get messages, just to not waste them. When we confirmed the booking later, I was at first excited because there was a new staff at the front desk. This excitement was short lived as the new woman was just as unpleasant as the Australian man. My fiance covered the cost out of our own pocket as a result of the massages the hotel effed up. We stayed at the Amansala (Grande) for 7 nights, for a girls' week. The resort is perfect for a sun-filled getaway. It is relaxing and beautiful, and exudes the Tulum vibe. The pool/ beach front is lined with comfortable beds and hammocks to relax, as well as a fun bar. The Amansala Grande is strategically located within biking distance of all the beach front restaurants (Hartwood, Arca, Gitano), the Mayan ruins, and the town. The room was very spacious, clean, new, secure, and well decorated. We were upgraded to a ocean view room that was spectacular, and had breathtaking views of the ocean (it was hard to leave). The Amansala team was very kind, helpful, efficient, and welcoming; they made an enormous effort to make us feel like family. I would be thrilled to stay at the Amansala again during my next trip to Tulum. read more

I absolutely loved my time at Amansala! Wow! It completely exceeded my expectations! The location couldn't have been more perfect only meters from the turquoise Caribbean Sea! The rooms were very chic and comfortable. The staff all extremely warm, friendly and helpful! I did the bikini boot camp and I can say I will definitely be back! We just got back from a yoga retreat at Amansala and let me tell you this is no place to relax, workout, or meditate. There are MANY better options. First, construction was going on at the site and nobody was told. The property made NO attempts to relocate the yoga to one of their other rooms. Worse, construction went from early morning until 9-10pm. One day I was sick the whole day and my head was going to explode, especially with all the pounding. After several requests to have them stop or relocate (management disappeared that day), at 930pm I finally lost it, had to climb the scaffolding and tell the workers to stop. Unbelievable. The rooms are old, oh and if you want to lock your room, they give you a padlock (and tried to charge us $50 usd for a lock fee at the end of the trip). This also poses another interesting problem, if one person is in the room and one is out you can't really lock the door with the other person coming back in. Water is unfiltered - beware. One towel per person. Food is limited and boring (so is bar area). To make a very long story short - they want to oversell you and take your money but do not deliver on anything else. We travel often. We understand simple and chic versus luxurious. This place is neither. It is not "eco-chic", it is ECO-CHEAP. Don't waste your time with so many other, better and less expensive options in Tulum. read more

This was such a beautiful and regenerative place to regain my healthy mentality, physical well-being, and spiritual mind. My favorite part of staying here was not wearing shoes the entire time! It's like camp for adults but with way nicer food and rooms and, of course, a bar. The service is outstanding and everyone who works here is friendly and ready to help with anything. The resort is right on the beach so you can relax with the ocean waves in front of you without worrying about a lot of boat or people traffic disturbing you. The chef does amazing things with vegan options and I am so impressed with the variety of fruits and vegetables at every meal. read more

Amansala has a beautiful view of the ocean where you can relax and swim. However, that was ruined by the slow service and the expensive entrance fee to the beach club. Although $20 for two is not pricey, I would expect better service from a luxury resort. It's cute, but would rather pay a bit more for better and fast service. read more

The worst hotel ever! They charged my credit card upfront, while advertising they will charge upon arrival/departure on Hotels.com. NO LOCKS ON ANY DOORS. We asked 4x for a padlock as offered, but never got it. Had to buy one at a bike rental place down the way. No a/c only 10:00pm-7am. If you go during hot weather...RUN!!! NO free bikes or WIFI, or Breakfast. Not even coffee! They pounded everyday breaking the rock flooring of the units, while we stayed. We had to leave the hotel to get quietness elsewhere as they are plenty of other hotels just a few feet away. We never ate there, only drank a few drinks. The best is upon returning from another hotel, we opened our door to find rocks and debris had fallen all over our clothes, personal belongs and laptop as they were pounding so hard above us. Thank goodness my laptop was closed. Didn't anyone tell the worker there were guests below!!!! Just a horrible experience and hotel. Don't waste your money, there are way plenty of other hotels down the way. The NEW gen mgr did apologize and move us into another room along with 2 free beers...he tried. It's no wonder we never stayed around our hotel. Just so noisy and uncomfortable for anyone to enjoy...very sad! Instead of calling it Eco Chic Hotel, I'd call it Eco Crap Hotel! read more

I was there 2013. The owner Melissa doesn't care about her guests and goes missing when there is a problem (but the staff was very polite and friendly.) Terribly expensive for what you get. Not worth it at all. If you are thinking of going to Tulum, check out another resort. The beaches are beautiful and the water is so clean for swimming, but Amansala (specifically Melissa) will leave you feeling ripped off. read more
