Ever…read more I have a strong history of skin cancer in my family, and after spending the last two years in the Caribbean sun, I wanted a skin cancer screening. I emailed to make an appointment with Dr Martha Garcia. They didn't have anything open for 6 weeks. But they offered to put me on a cancellation list. Less than a week later I received an email offering an appointment the next morning. I arrived to my appointment and the receptionist was very friendly. I waited less than 5 minutes, and I was back with Dr Martha. She was so sweet and so pretty, that you immediately feel at ease. Then she did a full all over body cancer screen for me. It was the first time I felt like someone truly looked at my skin thoroughly. Usually my doctors do a quick glance. She used a tool that can detect abnormalities not seen with the naked eye. Afterwards we discussed the signs of any future melanoma growth, and of course prevention. Lastly I asked her advice for just vain skin care... she described in detail what I should consider and suggested product brands for here and even what I can obtain in the US. She was one of the nicest, most thorough, professional doctors I have ever met. And that's saying a lot, since I worked in the medical field for 14 years!! She was worth every penny!!! After a fair amount of research, as well as getting person recommendations from locals, it's clear that Dr. Carmona was the only pick. His office was bright, modern and inviting. His consultation manner was concerned, present and intelligent. I was immediately comfortable with him and his staff. They had a genuine ability to care and help. While I was only going in for injectables, the cost savings versus getting this done in the States was OUTSTANDING. I would have paid more than double in any metro area in the US for this amount of botox. They also offer Xeomin and Dysport, for those who prefer other formulas. Their prices on name-brand filler are also impressive. When I'm ready for more invasive procedures, I'll definitely be coming back to Dr. Carmona.

Good thing she wasn't pushing or irritating. While I was trying to buy a new Dolce and Gabbana for women she had me smell a great smell from Tous which is a fragrance I never knew anymore. Soooooooo, I ended up buying it because it was so lovely. I also got Shine from Dolce and Gabbana which is very light and citrusy. I was very pleased with my purchases. They gave me some samples which I admit I haven't looked at yet. I'll come back here next time in Cancun.

Dr. Flores must be noted as an attentive and insightful doctor. He took pains to take time with us and answer every question and concern we had. I have never had a doctor so committed to the outcome of my treatment. He went several extra miles to procure medications and information for me. DR. Flores made a potentially stressful process calm and actually enjoyable. He is professional yet compassionate and is still vested in my reproductive health. I have never had a doctor who is so caring. For the duration of my treatment stay (3 months total) he stayed in daily communication with me. He never let me feel alone nor did he allow me to stress or worry. From day one I felt confident that no matter the outcome he would do all he could to ensure my husband and I would become parents. For that we are forever grateful. Dr. Flores and our coordinator worked with us hand in hand in choosing the best options for our reproductive journey. So very easy. They spoke English and we had no problems checking in. They boated you out to where the submarine was underwater. It was a neat sight to see the submarine emerge from under the water right in front of you. The sub was very clean and we only saw some small fish. It's tight quarters onboard, but everyone gets a seat with a great view. The guide on the sound system made sure we knew what we were looking at, including a sunken ship with divers exploring it. All kinds of sea life swam past the windows as we made our way down 115 feet to the ocean floor. We also saw numerous coral reefs as we glided along. The steep steps to board and exit are fairly easy to navigate and the staff offers lots of help. It's kind of pricey but worth every penny!

Pretty good food too! Neighborhood seems fairly safe, felt safe and not worried at all. They have a pool too but it was down the whole week we were there. (Something to do with a pump) That's the only reason I gave it 4 stars.Otherwise i would have given it a 5. I have a 3 year old and the pool is one of the reasons we picked this place. They also have wifi but it's pretty choppy.

We wished the prices were more reasonable at the restaurant and bar- we ended up trying to cook, but it was very hot to do so. Turtle Bay Cafe and La Buena Vida have excellent food and we usually had leftovers for dinner. We are not able to travel except during July and August, but if you can visit during peak months when it isn't 85 plus for heat and humidity, then this would be a wonderful location and value.

Lots of rentals so you never know who your neighbors will be. Sometimes friendly and respectful and sometimes loud and obnoxious with no care for anyone but themselves. The hotel is being refurbished so they work looooong hours. Hotel next door loves to blare loud music outside which really takes away from the quiet relaxation of your lanai. Clean and easy to get to local places from here.
