Also, at Disney World, it's just super convenient to flag down one of the photographers and have them take your picture. They're also happy to snap shots with your phone. No need to hand your phone to a stranger or take selfies. The photographers wear bright lime green shirts and are stationed seemingly everywhere throughout the four parks. They're at all the iconic spots, of course, and they have the best angles and are easy to access. We never had to wait long on a photographer because there were so many of them and/or people just didn't take advantage of them. As of February 11, 2026, prices for the Memory Maker package are: $185 for 30 days worth of media (if you purchase 3 days in advance) $210 for 30 days worth of media $85 for one day of media Photos show up in your Disney World app in a matter of minutes. Memory Maker also includes any photos taken of you on a ride like Pirates of Caribbean and Test Track. I will say results will vary depending on the photographer and you may encounter a few rare out-of-focus shots, but by and large, I think the army of Disney photographers do a great job.

Memory maker is a means of purchasing unlimited downloads of your vacation for either one day or your entire trip. This way you can store them or print them anywhere you like. Memory maker images stay in your My Disney Experience for up to about 45 days and then they are wiped out. Disney does sell a flash drive through their website that will keep you photos always available on it. By using you Magic band, you scan it with the photographer since your Magic band is linked to the Disney experience app. The photographer will then ask you to pose before the landmark several different way and may even do a surprise "magic shot" where they tell you to act a certain way and something later pops into your finished photo such as Orange bird or Figment. Depending upon location there can be a small wait to have your picture taken by a photopass photographer. Each theme park has their own photo pass store where you can purchase photos, Memory maker, and frames. Memory maker also downloads any thrill ride photos you happen to be on. I took the advantage of having photopass photographers get pictures of us where ever we went to capture the most of our vacation. Please note some of the photos taken aren't professional grade. For example the photos taken of us at the Polynesian resort "washed" us out because of the flash used. If you decide to print that picture in Disney the staff can try to correct the image using photo tools. Likewise you can correct them yourself if your device has photo shop or other correct tools. Another thing we did was a "capture your moment" session. This was an additional priced photography session with two photographers for 20 minutes. The session can be booked either in Magic Kingdom or EPCOT. I had mine done at EPCOT and for the most part the majority looked good. These photos as well are free downloads as part of your Memory maker purchase. I will admit a couple of those shot deliberately put us out of focus or were shot on an angle which I don't care for. It would be nice if they tell you this in advance but they don't. All in all there were enough photos in my collection where I could print a few keepsakes and create a photo album. Disney is always coming up with new ways to make your pictures more intriguing. The latest is "pin" a photo pass image of yourself to the Cinderella castle for a fee. You get to keep the download of the framed image you select.

When we came on October 21, the line didn't move as quickly as we'd hoped. There were many children in front of us. Pluto and Minnie were treating each of them like royalty. Previously, we came to get our pictures taken with characters, and at that time it was also Pluto, but I don't remember who the other character was. At that time we just walked in, got our pictures and walked out.

It was here we had photos taken of the backgrounds of all 4 parks just in the event bad weather would run our visit. You can purchase prints of these pictures here or at any photo pass location. As it turned out one of my favorite shots happened to be here and I was so glad at the end of my trip to have it made into a print. We were given special bandanas and then set sail with one of our pirates. The cruise itself was full of fun, sing-a-longs, and a wacky trivia game that yielded fun cheesy prizes. The fireworks were amazing! The view from the ship was just perfect. We have viewed the fireworks from the castle as well as from resorts, but this by far was the best vantage point. You had the music right there and the fireworks were right in front of us. Ah-mazing! There is a special surprise at the end when you return to the dock. Lots of photo opportunities from start to finish. Who can resist all you can eat dessert, fruits, and cotton candy? Don't forget to grab some chocolate coins as well.

I didn't bring down his whole costume because of packing space but I did bring down his jacket and shirt, an easy to bring pirate hat and we got a hook at the store at the Contemporary. When he saw Captain Hook at this, he actually cried tears of joy. He's met a lot of characters at Disney and Hook is the only one who has had that response. The Captain could not have been kinder to my son, he paraded the little Captain Hook around the room and showed him how to shake hooks. My son actually has high functioning autism and Captain Hook was just so gentle and sweet to him, you would never know he's a villain in the movie. Of all the characters we have met at Disney our interaction with Hook has been our favorite, he went above and beyond for our son. Hook could not have know it was our son's birthday eve and how special the night really was to him. The dude who plays Hook... he really plays Hook with the body movements. The swagger, the posture, the hand movements. This guy IS Hook. Smee was there too, also a very nice and kind fellow who spends lots of time with the kids and gives great interaction with everyone. This is worth every penny. It's not something where the characters just show up for pictures and then disappear. The boat captains, patch and patch, are both hilarious and keep the party going. They do trivia and sing songs, really absolutely no complaints with any of the entertainment at this! And the view of the fireworks! Spectacular! The food is not great but I didn't care. It's desserts. The ice cream bars were sorta melted then refrozen. Not much else, some mini cupcakes, fruit. Bags of popcorn and chocolate coins. And non alcoholic drinks. If you are coming to this for food and not entertainment you may be disappointed. All in all, we came for the entertainment and fireworks and we got what we came for and then some. There is a surprise guest at the end, ours was Pan. So as great as Hook was with our son Pan was kinda a D. Just short, rushed. Maybe I just expected more because Hook and Smee were so cool. Or maybe it's harder to be Pan because you don't get to wear a mask, I don't know, I've never been a Disney character. The sets are so VASTLY Different that it's difficult to find just one outfit that goes with it all so that was not great. The dressing room was a bit worn and the tables to put your items on appeared dirty as well. There were a few props you could use - a giant pair of sunglasses, a plastic child's tiara and a few other items, but nothing that were very interesting so we didn't use any. You are not allowed to bring a ring light with you and there were only tripods available to rent for $7, and the lighting in the studio wasn't ideal. I was disappointed with that because I thought this place claimed to be specifically lit for pics etc. I am not sure if this is to push people to pay for their in house photographers or what but we were already paying $33 each for the hour to take pics of ourselves. Some of the props seemed worn and a bit dirty, especially the popcorn scene. The most elaborate scene was the mermaid one! This was a fun time with my friend, but due to the details mentioned above, I will most likely not be back to this place.
