I needed to have a leaking gutter repaired. It turned out the gutter was actually uneven (probably bent from all the rain and wind we have been having). Rich was nice enough to let me know it wouldn't be much extra to hang a new gutter versus repairing the old one so that's what we did. Work was complete within the week and the repair itself only took about an hour. I'm pleased as punch with their service, honesty and professionalism. Tanner was the sales, then Rich and Rob did the work. They were all ready to work with and friendly. Rich and Rob make a fun duo too have around each other. They compliment each other well. They were respectful of the house to keep the mess low and cleaned up afterwards. Took a few hours or so for the entire installation. We had to make changes to the initial plan due to rafters in the attic. It still ended up great. It's the first thing that I've gotten for the house that was what I wanted. I originally wanted to put a skylight in my 1910 rowhouse, but found out from the city permitting office that I didn't have enough space to meet Virginia code for separation from the party wall. I was super disappointed, to say the least. The city guy suggested I look into solar tubes. I did some research and determined SolaTube was the best brand and the started searching for installers. I was very impressed by the service provided by Amazing Skylights. They came out on a Saturday to provide a quote, and then opened up their office on a Saturday a few weeks later for me to come by to see the products in action before deciding on which size and style to purchase. I was shocked at how much cheaper Sola Tubes are than skylights and decided to get two (one hallway, one bathroom). They were able to accommodate a weekend installation and their installer, Al, was so friendly and thorough. I couldn't believe how quickly he can install these things (2-3 hours)! He crawled around in my tiny attic without issue and really did his best to install them in the absolute best location to accomplish my lighting goals with a lot of "old house" constraints. I was particularly impressed with Al's ability to center the SolaTube exactly between the existing light fixtures. If you're OCD like me, you'll appreciate that. I loved my two SolaTubes so much that I had them come back and install a third one (second one in the same hallway) a few weeks later. This is one of the worst experience I've with a company and with contractors. Everything begun several month back when we were purchasing this house. The previus owner choose this company to fix the roof. I spoke with the owner before they started the "repairs" he told me that the roof will need some repairs, nothing to drastic, some shingles here and there. The roof apparently had a leak and he was going to addressed it, he ensured me that the roof won't leak again (at least where he will put his work on). He did give us 6 months warranty. I accepted (sounded fair) so, the months past by and at the first rain, we started to see the stain on the celling getting bigger, as well other spots right next to it. I called them again (i believe past about 3-4 months) explain what is going on, the fist thing they told me is that they will come and check it out. I made and appointment, a young guy came and he just visually inspected the celling and the roof, but since the roof is higher he did not climbed up. He said that he was going to send Alfredo to fix.when I called again to schedule the appointment for the fix, the lady at the phone told me that there is nothing wrong (THEY NEVER WENT UP TO THE ROOF) the problem apparently is that the just fix one pipe collar , the leak is coming from the "second pipe collar" I explained to the lady that the man whom came could not inspect the roof so -how can you be sure of that? . She said that Alfredo will come and look at it. Finally Alfredo came and he told me that they need to replace the Second pipe collar, since the did not fix it the fist time he had to change us for it. He "replaced" the non existent pipe. We ask him once more is -anything else in there that needs to be done?. He said "no, but if you need anything give us a call" WE PAID FOR THE 2 PIPE. To make the story shorter the roof kept on leaking we call them again. They refuse to come, you will think that the "warranty " renew since we ended getting a new service. But... When I called again, the same lady said that is was going to be $79 for the inspection. Because the 1st time is was "complemetary" BP ... i asked for the warranty, she just refused to listen. It was a nightmare. I called someone else to fix the roof. This is the WORS PART, when this guy climbed to the roof, told me that we just have ONE PIPE NOT TWO. He took pictures of the TERRIBLE WORK (if you wanna called it work) they did when "putting the pipe" the ripped the shingles and squeeze the pipe thought the space available. They never put the glue or new shingles around the pipe to protected, that was the problem. Just A TERRIBLE WORK DONE. I am very upset luckily for me I have the invoice and the pictures before and after, as well as the conversations between them and us. I am considering suing them for this. read more

We have contracted Amazing Skylights for several jobs since 2014. We first learned of the company when we wanted something done about our dark hallways and bathrooms. Due to the shape and direction our house faces, conventional skylights were not an option. Enter Amazing Skylights with their SolaTubes. These reflective cylindrical tubes come in different sizes and are designed to capture sunlight and reflect the light down tubes which can be angled in different ways depending on the construction of your roof and attic spaces in order to brighten areas of a house which may not otherwise get direct sunlight. We had a really dark stairway in our home and had considered windows, skylights, etc. to brighten it. I had no idea about Solatubes until I saw a conversation about them on NextDoor. I love, love, love my skylights. I first got one in my kitchen as it gets no sun and it is so nice to not have to turn lights on in the morning. The skylight in my bathroom is awesome, people who use the facility during the day who have not been to my house before always come out to ask how to turn off the light switch when they are finished using the room - yes, it is that bright! The built in night light and remaining light in the evening is a God send when elderly relatives are visiting, I do not need to worry about them falling in the dark. Another terrific installation of a solar tube which completely changed the face of this house by turning a dismal-somedays kitchen into a light-filled delight. Something not emphasized enough....the Solatube brings cheery light even on an overcast day. Makes an enormous difference, everyone who sees it, loves the Solatube. As for the company, Amazing aced it again by being prompt and well-priced. The installer was exceptional. 'Measure Twice, Cut Once' type of guy. He worked efficiently and cleaned up after using drop cloths. He explained the product which has gone from having a five year warranty to a 10 year warranty, that's how good it is. Installer went the extra mile by cleaning the kitchen fan on the roof of debris---he figured he was up there anyway. He did a visual on the status of the roof shingles. You don't find people who think like that, much less, actually do it. Told him that co-workers say, oh, you can find solar tubes at Big Box stores and do the installation yourself. To which I say--yeah, you can pull your own tooth too, but it's not recommended, and could prove more costly. My guy was out in an hour, you'd still be looking for your tool setup. Plus, the Solatube is top notch, what they have in the stores is not the same quality product. This is my second experience with SolaTube skylights. LOVE the quality of the product and results! Called Amazing Skylights to help with my West-facing kitchen and a dark bathroom. Rich and his team did a superb job! Two skylights were put in the kitchen, one routing sunlight from the South-East exposure and another South-West, so my kitchen is filled with a ton of light starting first thing in the morning and into the evening. Before these, we had to have lights on at all times, and now, no need to burn electricity! One of the kitchen skylights has a light kit as well. Bathroom skylight was installed with a fan, looks and works great! They even found and fixed a leak on our roof for one of the rusted vents. I also chose OptiView fixtures for my skylights and they look gorgeous. If you want it done right, call Amazing Skylights. They have been doing this for many years and SolaTube product is top notch. No leaks, no problems, and way cheaper and brighter than a traditional skylight. My kitchen has a traditional ceiling skylight and the amount of light it brings in does not come close to a 14 inch tubular skylight. read more

These skylights (solatube) are better looking and brighter than anything I have seen in the past. They make may home seem downright bright, whereas before, I had to use the hallway lights all the time. I also had a whole house fan installed from Amazing Skylights. Amazing Skylights worked with my electrician (but did not provide an electrician, which would have really helped) to get a plug installed in the attic for the fan (the solatube doesn't require electricity).
