I contacted the company via email, phone and yelp to get an estimate on a fixing a loose rake board and installing snow guards with zero response. We had Vertex install our roof 2 years ago. We were satisfied with the installation, however, I'm very disappointed in their lack of customer support. Just disgusted on how they treated my friend. They asked for a high price on a check on what was needed to be fixed. Over $12,000 just to go over a couple windows and gutter/tiles needed repairing. I had a simple roof leak and asked just for their suggestions and what's needed for fixing and they insisted that it was 3 other things that had an issue. I had another local roofing LLC check it out and had a great price and names for what the issues are. Vertex is trying to take your money because they think they know it all but trust me they don't. I'm not wasting $14,500 for a couple tiles that needed to be fixed. read more

Had Verrex come out to look at 2 places on our ceiling where it looked like we might have a roof leak. As it turned out, one spot was not damaged from the roof, and the other spot was due to the way our roof is really flat. In both cases Verrex said that our roof was in good shape and came up with a reasonable solution for the one issue. It was really nice that they didn't try to upsell us or tell us our whole roof had issues - very trustworthy and they were able to do our job quickly (within 2 days) for a fair price. Came on time and identified the leak and identified several mail pops occurring around roof vents.

I had six contractors come out to assess roof wind damages and give me quotes for repairs. Only Bill with Vertex volunteered to climb up on my roof, take pictures and send me an email with his findings, for free, along with providing a detailed price quote. Doing my due diligence, I sat through two other contractors' hour-long, high pressure sales talks that offered prices twice as much as Vertex quoted. None of the other companies itemized their prices. Bill offered a high quality shingle roof replacement, with manufacturer's and workmanship warranties, at a great price. He even worked with my insurance company to quickly resolve my roof damages claim! Highly recommended! read more

Vertex Roofing Contractors responded quickly to my siding repairs. They were fast efficient and friendly. Highly recommend.

The only reason I cannot give them a 5 is because they did not use a tarp or dumpster to throw shingles in when tossing them down from the roof. The workers did do a pretty good job of cleaning up after themselves. But in the future, a tarp should be used. Roof looks great! read more

Everyone in our neighborhood was getting new roofs so my wife and I thought it was time for us to consider getting our roof replaced. At the recommendation of neighbor, we contacted Vertex Roofing. Brian came out and informed us that we had hail damage. On his recommendation, we contacted our insurance company who informed us that we needed a new roof. We chose Vertex because their quote matched our insurance payout. The rest of the process went smoothly. The crew that did the work did an excellent job including picking up every nail on the ground! We were very pleased until we received the bill. The bill included everything in on our contact plus a "hidden" fee. They charged us an extra 4% fee if we used a credit card. Fortunately, we had the money in our account from the insurance payout otherwise we would have been forced to pay an extra 4%. I would of given them 5 stars but because of the hidden fee, they only get 4 stars. read more

I contacted them to replace our gutter covers. Bill showed up and I watched. From the moment he drove to the front of our house he stared at our roof and when I came out and greeted him, he announced taht he was staring at our roof. I said I would like to discuss gutter covers, not the roof. He was not pleased. Rudely proceeded to measure, and then left without even saying he was leaving. In other words, he didn't want the gutter cover business, he wanted to see us a roof. I can't stand companies like this. You ask them to price one thing, but they come out and tell you that you need something else. In this case he showed he had no desire to discus our request. I never bothered to answer their call to "discuss" his estimate. Why would I do business with them??? They cannot even execute the request BEFORE we are customers. Imagine their integrity afterwards. DON'T TRUST THIS COMPANY. There seems to be a lot of shady practices going on. This was an insurance claim for hail damage to my roof and aluminum siding (more on this in a minute). First of all, when you visit their website they claim that they do not use subcontractors and that all workers are employees of Vertex. LIE. They use subs (which would be fine if they disclosed it) but the roofing subcontractors they hired were incredibly unprofessional, leaving my home a disaster for two days, I contacted the "Project Manager" Jeremy and he told me that he was sorry this happened and he would have his "Manager" contact me, NOBODY EVER CONTACTED ME. I am still picking up nails and parts of roofing materials 3 months later. The siding subcontractor they hired is a different story, a Father and Son team that did a great job, disposed of all their trash and cleaned up the job site between days on the job. No complaints at all about the siding crew... Now more about the insurance claim. The insurance adjuster came to my home, did an estimate of work that needed to be done, mailed me a check and an itemized list of all the materials and work to be completed. I contacted the "Project Manager" and Jeremy came and collected the first of 2 checks from my insurance company, We went over the estimate and I was told that the amount would be enough to cover all the repairs, He said he would order materials and scheduled the job. Easy enough. The first of the strange happenings began: I wrote a check to Jeremy personally to cover my insurance deductible and what he said was "profit and overhead" ($1000.00). The materials arrived and the job was scheduled. The roofing work then began. The roofing was completed (albeit done by the shoddy roofing subcontractors). As the siding work was getting underway Jeremy told me that had to submit a revised claim to the insurance company for some things that he says were missed on the original estimate (additional siding materials and money for gutters that had been hail damaged). The siding work was completed (the siding guys were great). The final adjusted bill was submitted to my insurance carrier and the second check was sent to me for payment to Vertex (for substantially more than the original estimate) after both the roofing and siding work had been completed. Upon receipt of the second check (again, for over $4000.00 more than the original check I was expecting), Jeremy asked that I deposit the check into my personal account and write him 2 seperate checks for the final payment, one to Vertex for the final payment for the roofing and siding repairs and one to his "Company" for the gutter replacement. I agreed and attempted to deposit the check into my personal account. I was not able to deposit the check into my account because it was made out to me and to Wells Fargo (my mortgage company). I contacted Jeremy and let him know that I wasn't able to make the deposit and write him two separate checks. He came and picked up the final check from the insurance company, said that he would take the insurance check to Richmond personally and have a check mailed to me from the Vertex office to cover the gutter replacement (I would write his "company" a check from the check that Vertex would mail me) and for me to contact him when I received the check from Vertex and off he went (didn't seem to be a major issue). About two to three weeks later I received a check from vertex for a little $500.00. I called Jeremy and told him of the check I had received. At that time he told me that there had not been enough money in the final check to cover the gutter replacement and that the check was for a refund of the items that were not done on the original estimate. I do not understand how at the inception of the job there was enough money to complete the roofing AND siding repairs as agreed (in line with the insurance company's original estimate) and that upon receipt of a check for $4000.00 over the original estimate there was not enough money to complete the gutter work. I can all but guarantee that if I had been able to make the deposit of the final insurance company check to my personal account and written two checks (one to Vertex and one to Jeremy's "company") that Vertex would have been happy, Jeremy would have been happy and I would have gotten the new gutter system I was promised. Seems like some shady dealings to me and I am the one that got screwed out of replacement gutters that were also hail damaged. OMG. What a professional company! I really appreciate the friendly customer service during the installation of my new roof. The VERTEX team did a wonderful job. The VERTEX team will do the job "right". I know the Ultra HD shingles were heavy and required extra attention to details in the middle of winter yet it was "no" problems for these PROs. They were able to completely take off the old damaged roof and fix the leak inside my house, including the insulation in the attic and the fantastic new roof. The on-site supervisor named Pat provided me with updates on the project and ensured the exterior of my home, bushes, lawn etc. was covered to mitigate debris laying in the exterior of the yard. Vertex just finished my roof and gutters. I got three quotes and all came in very close to each other. I chose Vertex because they were reasonably priced but I found Bill to be very professional and thorough and really knew his craft. You have to be flexible on scheduling just due to the changing weather but the crew came and did a great job. The gutters were installed the next day. They do take a magnet to your yard after they are done but I found a few nails after the gutters were installed. I texted Bill and he came over the same night and swept my yard again no questions asked - that's customer service! I couldn't be more pleased. read more

This company's quote for replacing our roof was the lowest we received, but we couldn't be more satisfied with their work. From the first phone call, to the "Paid" Invoice, they were absolutely professional, hands-on and consistent. The manager, Tommy, checked with us several times during the process. He was very clear about what absolutely needed to be replaced and what might be alright to retain but would look bad with the new roof. There were absolutely no surprises as to the final cost of the job. We were really impressed with the way in which the crew cleaned up after themselves, both at the end of the first day and at completion half a day later. We had been dreading the whole business of replacing the roof - our first - but with this company, the entire process could not have been easier! Vertex Roofing replaced the shingles last September. I currently have singles falling off and was told they did not put the right flashing on around the chimney. I called Sept 6th and never heard from a tech, called today and was told the tech would call me back in 30 minutes. Called again 3+ hours later and asked for management - their answering service is off site and can't transfer me. Her best option was for me to call back and see if the line was open - seriously? (BTW - their crew forgot to put ridge vent on the peak of our roof and ruined our dining room ceiling last Sept. This was not our choice of Roofers - the sellers of the house picked them- and they probably shouldn't be yours) read more

I wish I could review their finished product but we never got that far. Their estimator came by and gave us an estimate for a roof replacement that was close to others we had received. We agreed to the terms of the estimate and signed the contract. We were then contacted by the estimator who said "I checked my contract and the spreadsheet and I made some errors" and we were then provided with a new estimate that was WAY higher than the one we had already agreed on and signed. This new estimate was also over $1,200 more than any other estimate we had received for similar services and products. This entire experience has been a huge waste of time and has the smell of a bait and switch. What's the point of a contract if you don't honor it? read more

Had Vertex install a roof purchased through Home Depot. A little confusion dealing with HD but did talk with Jon, the owner of Vertex, and he was very reassuring and answered my questions professionally. His on-site supervisor, David, was great. He kept me posted almost every other hour. The roofers, most from El Salvador, worked very hard and did a great job with the new roof as well as clean up. The roof looks great. read more

We did not get our roof done, but we were rudely awoken after working a night shift at 8am to what sounded like men coming through OUR roof. Yes we live in a townhome but never had issues when the other neighbor had their roof done nor was it done at an ungodly hour. After we were rudely awoken, we were working in our backyard and were hit in the head and in the face with large staples from the roof next door since the non english speaker workers decided it was okay to just throw all the old roof etc not only on the neighbors yard but on ours as well. To have huge staples hitting our head/faces etc was not only a huge scare (they were rusted) but the fact that I yelled at the workers to watch out what they were doing, 10 more fell on us and in our yard. We walked out front to see that they also left garbage our front yard, their supplies and tools in our yard (killing the grass) and also walked all over the yard. I asked several times for them to stop but of course they didnt speak english and didn't seem to care. The foreman was no where to be found and they hid the sign in the yard so I couldn't get the number to call. I saw the sign in the yard when they first started working. We left for the day because we couldn't take debris and staples being flung at us so we came back that evening to our deck cluttered with debris, staples and empty crushed water bottles, our new patio furniture with expensive cushions destroyed from the debris and black roofing materials, our flowers on the deck cluttered with debris and staples as well as the flowers in my front garden leaning over because materials had been flung on top of them and never cleaned up.. Thoroughly disappointed and even our neighbor came over to apologize because they didn't even clean up the mess they created in his yard after doing their job there. We will see if this weekend our gutters are cluttered with their mess as well...... DO NOT RECOMMEND read more

Employing well-spoken and professional specialists, they diagnosed and fixed the problem (cracked drain vent collar, and some missing shingles) and came in below their competitor's cost and level of service.
