He first told me it would take 15 minutes to replace the battery and so I waited. A few minutes later, he came back and said he needed to have his "watchman" take a look at it. So I put down a non-refundable deposit and left. That was Monday. By the following Monday, I had not heard back and I was nervous because I would be departing NY. So I called and the same man (I recognized his voice) told me someone would be getting back to me. Within an hour or two, a woman phoned me and said I would need to come down and put a $20 deposit toward getting the watch fixed. She quoted me $100 for final cost. I ended up zelle-ing her the $20. She also told me the watch would be ready by Thursday. The woman was very nice. On Wednesday, the woman called and said my watch was ready. I went in to the store and paid the remaining balance--80 dollars. All in all, the whole cost-of-repair was $115. My watch works fine. I am not sure if this was a reasonable price and time for repair. It's crazy how the watch hardly breaks down in Bakersfield, CA, where the cost is significantly lower. Always in NY, sigh ...

I understand that 22K gold is softer than lower-karat gold, but a bracelet should not start looking damaged within days of normal wear. I went back to the store twice hoping they would stand behind what they sold. I wasn't even asking for a refund or an exchange. I simply asked if they could inspect it and repair it since it was practically brand new. Instead, the owner's daughter was extremely rude and disrespectful. In front of other customers, she blamed me and said, "What do you expect? You only bought a 9.9-gram bracelet." She basically told me that because it wasn't heavier, it was expected to bend and get damaged, and that there was nothing they would do. The next day I returned to speak with the owner himself, hoping he would handle the situation differently. Unfortunately, he also refused to help and would not even repair the bracelet. What makes this even more upsetting is that my mother and I have spent well over $25,000 at this store over the past 10 months, buying jewelry for my future wedding. We trusted them enough to make them our family's jeweler, yet this is how they treated a loyal customer over a bracelet that was less than a week old. Now I am genuinely worried about all the other jewelry we've purchased from them because most of it hasn't even been worn yet. I expected professionalism, accountability, and basic customer service. Instead, I was blamed, embarrassed, and treated with complete disrespect.
