It offers daycare, preschool and grades kindergarten to eighth. There are about 100 children in K-8. One classroom per grade! It feels like a family. The teachers are kind and caring. No child feels overlooked or left out. The tuition is VERY reasonable and scholarships are available. Besides core classes the students take Spanish, Bible, computers, gym, art and music. Each day begins with prayer. Every Friday the students attend chapel. New construction and expansion is planned this year (2016) as the church adds infant care to its day care services. This will also being improvements to the school such as the addition of a band room as well as locker rooms off the gym. Recently the school's kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Brenda Heintz, was featured on a Grand Rapids TV news broadcast. She won the WGVU Cool Teacher Award. I went in to the lessons trying not to get my hopes up as I had been disappointed with other area lessons, but after the first lesson I was pleasantly surprised. The lessons take place in her back yard and she employs several staff members. Brittany and her staff are very professional and give the best lessons in the Portage/Kalamazoo area. My children have participated in her group and private lessons and have been very satisfied with both. If you have children with special needs, Brittany's Swim school does a great job accommodating for all types of students. My oldest daughter is autistic and I am truly amazed how well Brittany and her staff work with her. The schedule is posted each summer in April/May on Brittany's website (www.brittanysswimschool.com) The lessons fill up quick, so if your interested in lessons, it's important to call right away!

Two students were graduating the afternoon I was there and the excitement in the air was incredible. It's kind of exciting to be a part of the educational journey of students learning their craft. Discussed pricing for various services with my technician and it sounded like the school offers extremely competitive prices and that instructors oversee all complex services. The facility could use some updates ... their pedicure booths were broken so a portable foot bath was used instead, and they were out of the nail gel so regular polish had to be used instead. If management stayed on top of some of these finishing touches, it would be an even more amazing experience.
