We heard them clearly because there is no A/C in the building. Thankfully it was not an extremely humid weekend. The room was large and had abundant cabinets. The volunteers who were there when we arrived were kind and polite, gave us a tour of the entire house, but there was no host present, nor anyone else through the stay that we could address a concern. Yet there were random people on the grounds that we could not tell what their presence meant. So security is basically none existent, not that it would be necessary but there was nothing between us and the outside world but our room door lock.

Larry has SUCH incredible knowledge with firearms, he knows when to challenge you and when to let you take it all in. I took the handgun fundamentals class, and all I can say is TAKE THE DANG CLASS. I've shot before here and there over the years, thought I knew what I was doing....and it's like this was the glue I needed to put everything together. Larry makes it such a relaxed and safe environment, so that theres ZERO intimidation...I felt comfortable to ask whatever questions I had. He is such a natural and great instructor. He could tell when the gears were turning in my head, when all pieces were coming together and didn't rush to the next topic. He gave me the time to process things, just naturally, which really increased my confidence. He could instantly tell where I would hit on a target without even going to a range with me, and he was 100% spot on. He made suggestions and corrections without making me feel stupid or dumb. I can't say enough great things about him! I wanted to be comfortable with a firearm without a male with me, and I completely am now. I can now easily go to the range myself, be safe, and use the tools Larry taught in the course to challenge myself confidently. This class was critical to my success as a shooter, to build my confidence at the range, to increase my safely handling any firearm, to confidently purchase a new firearm, and left me wanting to enroll in another course right then and there. If you're on the fence about taking the course before your CPL class, just do it. It helps bring everything together, and helps you build a SOLID foundation. I can't say enough good things about Lone Cedar Training Center, Larry, and Marjorie. I purchased a groupon for 3 pole dancing classes. I went to the Intro class first and had Julia as…read morean instructor. I LOVED how she started the class, made everyone forget about their outside worries and stresses, and make us look forward to what was ahead. The class was great (which is why I hesitate giving only 3 stars). From there I signed up for the Level 1 class knowing I would only go twice more. It was explained that we were to learn something new each time and build upon what we previously learned. The first class was great, and I learned a lot of ways to go down the pole. However, you had to sign up in advance for the class and there were 2 extra people, meaning 2 poles had 2 people on them. For a 1 hour class I didn't love the fact that I had to share a pole, kind of took away from the class in my opinion. Why sign up in advance if they're not going to cut the class at 10 for the 10 poles? (9 if you count the instructor's pole). The 3rd class I went to didn't really add anything more on the pole, but she opted to teach us wall dances. Again, this was a pole dancing class, so I wasn't soo excited about the wall. And the instructor was coming off of being sick and really made that known to us, quite a few times, and it was sort of distracting to the class. This one felt very forced and not as fun as the first two.
