We had a few hiccups with the DJ; didn't start the right song for the wedding ceremony at the right time, and towards the end of the reception the lights went out but that was more or less the facility's fault for not knowing about some circuit being overloaded or something. All in all we had a great time and having the lights and technician made it easy for everyone to enjoy themselves. They have pulled through for so many last minute event requests (which is surprising but their schedule is very busy). We worked with Hemant to provide the music, lighting, and sound equipment for our baraat and reception in August of 2014. Hemant was awesome -- he was a total pro. He showed up on time and required no handholding -- he got all of the equipment setup for the baraat, wedding, and reception. For the baraat, he seamlessly worked with the drummer we hired. For the reception itself, the music and light were great. Like others have commented -- I underestimated the importance of lighting in setting the mode, but it made our outdoor tent really warm and fun. Our wedding venue recommended that we meet with a lighting vendor that they have used on a regular basis. We figured, since the vendor was familiar with the event space - we felt comfortable not shopping around. Our decision was a good one. Hemant is the owner of Ambiance AV. He was very professional on the phone. Returns e-mails and phone calls promptly. He also had a lot of good suggestions for what type of lighting would jazz up our venue. We only used Ambiance AV for lighting, but it seems they can provide other special event services (i.e. DJ, Sound, etc.) We had carnival stringers and paper lanterns strung across the venue area. At one point before the wedding, the venue made changes to their exterior layout. This change caused some adjustments in our contract with Ambiance AV. Hemant was very accommodating and took our budget into account when he had to make adjustments. In the end, the changes were minimal and he still captured what we were looking for. Hemant and his team showed up to the venue as planned. The setup was efficient and quick. I don't know much about lighting, but from what it looked like - it was very professionally done. We can't thank Ambiance AV enough for providing such amazing quality to our night!!! Being in the non-profit world, we have gone to MANY banquets, galas and benefit dinners. We have never seen such quality before! Hemant was incredibly responsive, professional, and really valued making sure every single detail was taken care of. We originally needed just visual and audio (enough for over 200 people) and he worked with all of our media, making sure he had the right screen size for the room, the aspect ratio for the videos, and proper sound to completely fill the room. Our event was a patriotic event supporting Veterans and Gold Star families, so we added red, white and blue uplighting and he went ABOVE and beyond for us. Ambiance filled the ENTIRE room with uplighting which made a huge difference for our event! I would give Hemant about 3.5-4 stars. We used him for our wedding DJ and for our lighting at our wedding in August. Hemant is pretty easy to talk to and seems to have a lot of knowledge and experience in wedding entertainment. He also does a lot of corporate events. The negatives: he didn't seem as invested in our wedding as our other vendors did. There would be some slowness in communication and I felt like he wasn't giving as much attention to detail as I would have liked. On the day of, that was apparent since he messed up a bit on announcing the the speakers and messed up on the mother son dance song. My poor husband and mother in law were like 20 seconds into their song when another song came on. That was horrible and basically took that moment away from them. He just looked at me and shrugged. He also didn't announce a few things we were hoping he would and had written on our timeline for him to do. Throughout the planning process, he kept asking if someone else in our family would like to be MC and we should have taken that as a hint that he's not that good at that. We had said no and asked if that was a problem and he was like oh no problem, I can be the MC. Positives: he did a great job with the music and lighting. The lights looked great and he did a great job with the mystic otherwise despite the incident with the mother son dance. The few things I was unhappy about still do not take away the overall effect and the fact that the dance floor was packed and ppl were having a blast! I would've probably gone with someone else that I could ensure would get all my details correct on the day of. Make sure you discuss this with him prior to booking him for an event! He will do a good job with DJ and lighting but be careful with the MC details! read more

As the bride of a 600 person Indian fusion wedding, I did not have all of the details before our event (it was hard to keep track). It was stunning; he produced the perfect ambiance for our special evening. As for Deepak, wow! We found out about Ambiance AV through personal recommendations and I am so happy we chose them for our wedding. They had actually played at our friends wedding that we had been at in Malibu, CA and I loved everything that the DJ had played that day/night. We planned our wedding in Portland, OR and I was having a difficult time finding a DJ that understood the balance I wanted regarding playing a variety of my favorite American pop (80's) dance music and the mix of traditional classic Indian songs and current Indian dance hits. Not only was Ambiance AV incredibly reasonable with their travel charges but also very accommodating to my requests. They really worked with me and my budget considering I was also going to have to pay for travel costs if I went with Ambiance AV. Hemant (Ambiance AV) was very prompt in returning all of my messages, answering my questions, and going over all the details as often as I needed for my assurance. He was always easy to contact via email, phone calls, and especially through text messages. I only used Ambiance AV services for my wedding day (baraat and ceremony) and reception which was on a Saturday. The night before I planned a welcome dinner for my guests and realized that I hadn't created any sort of music playlist to play during that evening. Hemant (Ambiance AV) came to the rescue and provided a playlist for us for the Friday night welcome dinner. At the baraat, he had everyone out there dancing and getting pumped up. It was an incredible sight to see and I loved the music he was playing and energy that he got out of everyone out there! He was able to flawlessly fill in the void regarding any portion of the wedding ceremony/reception/end of reception music choices that I never got around to providing him because I had a million other things to figure out. My husband I got married in San Diego in June, and we think the world of Hemant and Ambiance AV. We actually walked several deejays through our venues (we had two full days/nights of events) and Hemant was not only the most professional and trustworthy of the handful, but also came at a reasonable price. I had no idea before I met Hemant how important and transformative good lighting is, and he did an amazing job with everything. We are really thrilled with how smoothly the events flowed and how it all looked. Our Friday-night event involved transforming a more basic venue (San Diego Hall of Champions Sports Museum) into an awesome dance venue -- which Hemant did. I wasn't there during the day but I know that he showed up several hours early (maybe as much as 6 or 7 hours before the event started) to make sure everything was set up. On Saturday, he had to light and provide music for four different spaces (the Museum of Art patio/parking lot, the Museum of Art sculpture garden, the roof of the Natural History Museum, and the main foyer of the Natural History Museum) with one event flowing right into the next, and he managed to do this too! We know that was difficult but he went above and beyond in making sure everything turned out perfectly. Last two things -- 1) Hemant also edited our first-dance song (two songs we actually combined) the week before the wedding for us. He did a great job and did not charge us extra for that. 2) our day-of wedding coordinator, who is part of a large company and has overseen years of weddings and events, singled out our deejay as a truly amazing vendor as well. Hemant is a great DJ. Used for a wedding reception recently and had a very strong experience. He and his team arrived to the venue very early to have plenty of time to set up. During the night he was very flexible with the program agenda, making adjustments at the last minute to make the flow smooth. He had a good sense of the flow; for example, he would appropriately cue and change music for different transition points during the reception. He was willing to work with other event staff like catering. He also was good about working with the wedding party before the night to plan the itinerary, select songs, etc and he was flexible about this also. I don't have a sense of whether his prices are competitive, as I wasn't involved in price shopping for Hemant's company, and our requirements for lighting/AV equipment were basic. My family had worked with him before for another wedding and we had a great experience, and knew we wanted to work with him again. They were very professional and friendly. He tried to set up phone meetings with us, but we were only able to discuss plans with him over the phone a few days before the wedding (out fault, not his, he tried!)
