We used Kore's DJ services for our wedding in January 2019. DJ Amara was amazing, from the planning stages to the reception party! I'm sure I'm incapable of articulating how strongly I endorse Kore Entertainment. Nothing is ever boring with Kore and it's never the same old same, not even if you've hired them for past events. I've hired Amara and her Kore Enterainment group 4 times. I've used them for music (performance instrumental musicians and Live DJ services), bartender services, catering, as well as other performing artists (specifically dancers and artists hired to paint live -- they painted in various media on large canvases during the event). Everything they were involved in helped my event draw praise from my supervisors and applause from my attendees. 5 Stars is just not enough. Amara and Kore have never disappointed. They've always helped my events go off larger than anyone expected. The trouble with artists I've had is too many times I get hit with bad attitudes and poor time management. Amara is different. She's a total professional. Nothing but positive energy and a "Can Do" attitude. She makes sure she's always on time but also that anyone working under the Kore Entertainment umbrella is 100% on their game. It has always been so great to have her there functioning essentially as my entertainment manager--that was an especially big help on my smaller budget events. I've never had to sweat when she's been there. My different events have all had totally different budgets, drastically different themes, and radically different audiences. I've done indoor events, sprawling outdoor events, events on rooftops, even once for an event on a yacht. I hired Kore Entertainment every time and they always were able to pull together exactly what I needed. In (at least) one of the cases I wasn't even exactly sure what it was I needed to bring life to what could be a relatively stiff crowd. It was an older crowd full of people. They usually remained composed and professional (translation: BORING). This was my first year running the show and I wanted to change all that. Amara talked with me about what might work and helped me assemble a plan. Her idea was to bring in some dancers (professionals). They were great. They wowed everyone with their moves (while Amara kept the jams pumping). Then these dancers brought everyone out onto the floor by pulling them, one by one, out of the crowd. No one could resist the sexy dancers (one male and one female). Slowly but surely the whole place was jumping. And that was just one tiny part of that event. If you're looking for a way to make sure your event (or even just part of your event) reaches its pinnacle, Kore Entertainment is a sure bet. I just had my wedding on Sunday and I am so so so happy that my husband I and listened to not one but two friends' recommendations to hire DJ Amara with Kore Entertainment. From the very first introductory email, DJ Amara was prompt and professional and made us feel like we were more than just another client. After speaking to a friend who had only amazing things to say about her, we quickly decided to hire Kore Entertainment. Amara was prompt with every communication the entire way through. Right before the wedding, my then fiance was thinking about adding an extra service, and he was very impressed by how friendly and helpful Amara was even with a last minute request. I even emailed her the night before the wedding because we changed the order of things for the reception. I doubted that Amara was going to get the email let alone respond, but I woke up the next morning to find a reply in my inbox. The wedding itself was amazing. We knew we had to hire a fantastic DJ because we were having a simple wedding and knew the DJ had to be able to get a mix of generations on the floor dancing and make it a fun party. Annnnd... she did. She listened to all our requests for the different styles of music (latin, oldies, swing, pop, etc) and she seamlessly went from one song to another. I was worried some of the music changes would be jarring since there was quite a different mix, but Amara found the perfect songs to transition through the different styles. She also found all the songs we wanted- and listened to our special requests (even playing one song twice). My husband has also mentioned that he was impressed how quickly Amara picked up on some subtle cues from him during the first part of the evening- I'm not even sure what he meant by that, but everything transitioned so smoothly that it seemed to flow perfectly. We kept having friends and relatives come up to us to tell us that we know how to throw a fun party- and I know a great deal of that was thanks to DJ Amara. Earlier on in the night, a group of our friends and family surprised us with a song and dance routine. This song wasn't on our playlist, but I loved that Amara found the song and played it toward the end of the night. It re-energized the room all over again. Guests who had been saying their goodbyes all of a sudden rushed back onto the dance floor- and you could see how much fun everyone was having. I thought it was a really smart and a really great move. I absolutely 100% recommend DJ Amara and Kore Entertainment. We used Amara for our wedding DJ and let me tell you, she killed it. After booking her, she sent an initial questionnaire to become more familiar with us and what we were looking for. Then we had a meeting to figure out songs and when/where to play what. She's great at letting you guide the ship (obviously your wedding) but giving good advice when you're stuck between two songs, etc. We used Spotify playlists and just sent those over to her for song ideas. On the day of, her and Hollie came early and got everything set up right away. We had a complicated set up in that our ceremony was on a hill outside with no power followed by the cocktail hour and reception inside and outside of a barn. On top of this, it was three hours outside of LA. They had two different setups for each part so it flowed nicely and there was no awkward break in music or someone running wildly from one to the other. The actual dancing part was easily the best part of many our guests' night. I think my favorite part of using Amara is that she really listens to what you want and how you want the night to go. A thousand times over we would use her again....if we were getting married again. That probably won't happen so do me a favor and make her the DJ for your wedding. read more

My wife and I married on August 30, 2014 and hired Hollie to be our "day of" coordinator. We were envisioning more of an unconventional wedding (i.e. no assigned seating, food trucks, etc) to make it feel less stuffy and more fun and fluid. Since this style veers away from what people are normally accustomed to, we were a bit nervous as to how this would pan out. All of our concerns and nervousness quickly faded away as Hollie was extremely attentive to what we wanted to convey. She offered up great suggestions as well that lent a hand to creating such an exceptional and amazing event installation. Our theme was simple and rustic, and the end result was phenomenal. Moreover, Hollie's juggling skills are one of a kind. We had close to 150 guests, but from 7 am to a little past midnight, Hollie stuck with it and was able to gracefully manage all the logistics from setup to breakdown which was super impressive. Amara also played a DJ set at the reception. I've seen Amara play several times in club settings, and she's definitely a crowd rocker. Her set at the wedding was nothing short of spectacular, and all of our guests were more than pleased and tired from dancing the whole night. From old classics to new school hits, she definitely has it all handled. Typical wedding DJ's just play songs... Amara reads the crowd and throws in the hits at the right moment. Darn it...it seems like folks before me beat me to the punch on raving about Amara...but, I'll go ahead do it anyway. My wife and I were married on Halloween 2015 - one of the busiest nights of the year (for a DJ).
