Every time I visit AMC i usually watch it in their PLF format and I am always satisfied with my experience but, every time i go there their is a slight problem with the screen. And it is the hallway lighting coming from the left and is visible the bottom left corner of the screen. Hopefully AMC could resolve this issue read more

Alamo Drafthouse in Winchester Va! Oh I use to enjoy this place with my son going to the movies. He was 3 years old when he saw his first movie here. However it has went downhill unfortunately! The last couple times we have went the food was horrible, the bathrooms weren't clean the theater seats are falling apart. We recently had a field trip for work they told us we all go free popcorn. When we got the check we were all charged an extra 7.50 that's a lot of money!!! There were about 80 of us and some got their money back and some didn't! Let's just say I won't be going back!! Also remember they add gratitude 20% automatically!! read more

I was pleasantly surprised by the stadium seating here. I had imagined flat stadiums when I saw "classic" in the name of this AMC. Staff were really friendly before and after the film. My friend ordered food and had a good experience with that. Our only complaint was with the restrooms, which looked like they had been cleaned a week before our visit rather than that day. Overall, I would visit again next time I'm in Winchester. My favorite theater in town is still the Alamo, but not all theaters can be that great. read more

My first and last time at this theatre. Sound quality was not great, bathrooms smelled like sewage, and I kid you not, some of the projection was not keystoned properly. My least favorite part: I followed their posted policy to not bring in my own water, but when I asked for a water cup, Chris at concessions told me that the only way to get water was to buy a full priced beverage cup, "sorry, corporate policy" he said. I thought about refunding my tickets and heading over to Alamo where the water is free (and the tickets are cheaper), but I also learned I could not refund my tickets. I contacted AMC directly to understand their policy better, and this is how they replied: All AMC Theatres should have free water cups for guests at our concession stands. If you experience an issue in the future, please ask for a manager and they will be more than happy to help! -Amanda Hope that helps you if you are in that situation! They do offer a club membership that saves you on fees and many other discounts. Seating is well kept comfortable and clean. The theatre also offers a full concession with food, candy favorites and of course popcorn!! The soda selection is the largest I have ever seen!! Besides soda they also offer beer and wine as well as slushies !! Restrooms are well kept and clean. When I want to see on movie with the Big Screen Experience this place is my first choice. This used to be a decent theater but has definitely gone downhill. We visited today to see the new Indiana Jones movie. First of all, we paid almost $100 for the entire experience. The popcorn was stale and tasted like it was a day old. The bathrooms were foul smelling and filthy. One of stalls even was flooded in the women's bathroom. The previews started 5-10 minutes late and the lights in the theater were constantly flickering the entire time we were waiting for the movie to start. When the sound finally came on there wasn't even a picture. Two people had to report it before it even got fixed. It is really sad since this is a family friendly movie theater, unlike the local Alamo Drafthouse. Would like to see them clean up their act for the price you pay. read more

Great theater the seats were nothing like I've seen before very large with great plush padding and we're very comfortable with the right amount of reclining positioning. The theatre my girlfriend and I were in to watch our movie was very clean. The concession stand eats are pricy and could come down a little but then again what movie theater concessions aren't pricey. The staff super friendly with great customer service. Dirty, Filthy, Expensive, and Not Worth!! The place has went so far down hill. Not what I used to see when I went in there.

It's been a little while since I've been to the movies here, but wow this place needs a good cleaning. Musty smell, filthy carpets and floors, a roach in the bathroom. Add that to the employees more interested in having a conversation than conversing with me while I purchased snacks it was not a great day at the movies. The theater was so filthy we could barely get through the doors at the entrance without being disgusted. We came to the movies on New Years and there was popcorn everywhere all over the floors of the entire building, the bathrooms were awful and the theater looked like it had not been cleaned in a while. I went here just a little bit ago with my daughter and niece since it's savings Tuesday. The staff was friendly for the most part, but the prices were outrageous for popcorn & drinks!! Especially for the quality of the theater itself, the chairs are completely uncomfortable and feel dingy and gross. Upon walking into the women's bathroom you're hit with a strong smell of urine and the stalls were disgusting! There was pee all over the seat and floor in one stall and the rest of the toilets just looked dirty. I definitely don't think it's worth the price at all! read more

My husband and I usually will see movies at The Alamo, however we received an AMC gift card for Christmas and decided to see Top Gun today. As soon as we walked through the filthy, smeared glass entrance doors, we knew it was NOT going to be a good experience. There were several young employees "working" behind the counter at the snack bar, and throughout the hallways leading up to the theaters. Long story short, the snack and soda machine areas were FILTHY! The bathrooms were just as filthy. There was a sign posted outside of the women's restroom stating that they acknowledged there was a foul smell and they had a plumber "working" on it..I will not blame the young employees for the conditions we witnessed, this lies solely on management. Spend a few dollars more and go to the Alamo or anywhere else. I feel like I need to go home and take a shower after being in that place. read more

Just left the theater and can hardly breathe. The theater was stifling on a 90 degree day and smelled of mold so much I could hardly stand it. When I went to the ladies' room 3 of the first stalls I checked had clogged toilets. The "good" stall appeared to have either heavy dust or mold on the partition. The uncaring, heartless staff at this theater almost ruined what was supposed to be a magical Christmas moment for our eight year old son. Santa Claus had left the credit for the tickets for our son, along with an extra $10 gift card because Mr. C had also bought tickets for our 2 nephews. It even came with a note saying what a good boy he had been and wishing him a magical Christmas! Well, we came in for our movie and found that our chosen showtime was sold out, and that our extra $10 had expired a mere 8 hours earlier. We were told that they had another showtime 3 hours later, but at a higher price. They refused to sell us tickets at any price lower, and they absolutely refused to honor our gift card. Just a cut-and-dry "Sorry, there's nothing I can do." As the cashier, then the manager delivered this already upsetting news right in front of our son, he keeps saying, "but...it's from Santa!" And getting progressively upset. I had to take him aside while my wife tried (to no avail) to reason with them, reassuring him over and over that, because Santa's tickets are magical, the normal human companies don't understand them. Shame on you, AMC! We are trying desperately to keep the magic alive for our son in a trying time, but clearly you don't give a damn. read more

I went to the theater with my grandchildren for the first time since the pandemic. it was my favorite theater in the Winchester area. i was appalled at how filthy it had become. The handrails on the stairs were so sticky they must not have been cleaned for years! It was disgusting. it actually left your hands sticky. we got there at 1:30. My granddaughter went to the restroom when we arrived. There was no toilet paper and the toilets were dirty. The floors in the hallway looked like they had been washed with dirty water. They were smudged and sticky to walk on. I will be watching movies from home from now on. It is a shame. I always looked forward to going there. read more

They are getting a bad review because they held me hostage for almost 30 minutes. If a movie starts at 8:15, then I expect it to start no later then 8:30. The movie finally started at 8:45. Sound was really good but the seats are not as comfortable as Alamo. Also. They are expensive for drinks and popcorn. They have 10 people running cash registers but nobody cleaning the lobby. I saw a movie here on Christmas Day. First time I have gone to this theater (and last). Great movie, comfy seat. Everything else was nasty and inefficient. Waiting in line to just get a ticket while you wait for everyone ahead of you to get their concessions.....go get your drink and there is spilled drink, dried up spilled drink, popcorn everywhere, doesn't someone know how to clean a counter?? Then a line to get into the theater? Why? I already had a ticket.....went to the restroom.....3 stalls for a 12 theatre???? One stall was out of order, one had no toilet paper.......ugh. The most unclean, gross theater I've ever been in. It seemed as though this theater has not been cleaned or touched since it's opening in the early 80's. I wonder if it was even nice if you had a time machine to go back to the 80's to watch a movie in this theater. Steer Clear of this Theater, I've gone to $2 dollar movie houses that are comfortable and cleaner than this one with charges full price. This place denied me access with my preferred face covering! They are requiring a specific type to gain access. It must not be a company wide policy (2 others didnt say anything)but maybe the one young person who declared they do not accept certain types of face coverings own policy .Keep in mind the one I was wearing I gained access to two other Theaters and two different medical providers.This place was always a secondary option but now it will never be a option for us. Tried to contact this theater directly but the phone number gave a message that everyone was busy, how to get refunds or the theater is closed. Then it suggested I use their website (I already did this frustrating performance before I called) or download an app. All I wanted to know was the particulars about their food offerings at this theater. (Not the rest of their chain, just this theater) It appears AMC is just another corporation who does not want to give customer service, rather, push you off on auto messages, apps and options which have nothing to do with your call. read more

The theaters are in need of an update. The general feel, and smell, is that of 1985. There is 3D available so that is a plus.

Dirtiest theater I've ever been to! There was popcorn and dirtiness all over the lobby, soda spilled at the self serve, their front bathrooms were closed. Their Large popcorn is the smallest I've seen, it comes in a bag and no free refills like my home towns...then to go in we stood in a huge random line that we didn't even know what it was for and my husband had to ask what it was for to one of the workers because nobody knew and it wasn't even for our movie! Very unorganized. Screen was way below the seats you had to look down because the seats were so far up and the sound was so low you could hear everyone munching away at their popcorn which was very annoying. Alamo Drafthouse is SO much better. So's the drive-in. This place is alright in a pinch, or if you need a 3D movie or a showing time that just isn't available otherwise, but they have this ridiculous ticketing procedure where you wait in line at the food counters with everyone buying popcorn and whatnot (and maybe it increases food sales for them, who knows), and the thing is this costs more than the drive-in and as much as Alamo for less comfort. Not a big fan, but for certain movie showtimes, go anyway. read more

Eeeeeew! Okay, this had to be the most unclean cinema I've been in since 1982. I'm pretty sure that is when it was built (and the seats were last upholstered). The screen wasn't good, the sound was worse... and did I mention the seats?!? I really felt as if I was in an adult movie house that Pee Wee Herman would frequent... not a family movie theater.
