Went to see "Sherlock Holmes: The Final Adventure". Good play, well acted and in a nice venue. Definitely looking forward to going back!

Save yourself a lot of frustrations & money - register your kiddo anywhere else but here!…read more Also, at least one of the Google "reviews" is one of the "teachers".   Ive been a dance mom for almost 9 years. I have never written a bad review at any dance school/academy until now. Please beware. This was our first year trying this place.   Extremely unprofessional management. Teachers are teenagers with attitude and a superiority complex. Poor communication, terrible end of year pictures (couldnt even post or print them!) that they charged an outrageous amount for, "teacher" discussing who are their class favorites & not favs while parents are within ear shot, dance technique & skill set not up to par with industry standard.   I paid for extra private lessons for my daughter. One day the class was cut short from 30 mins to approx 10 mins and I documented this and addressed it professionally. I asked for a refund for that lesson day & was met with complete attitude weeks following. I was ignored by Jess until I pushed the issue. Though she did apologize for her staff's behavior she followed it up with being upset about the fact that the lessons weren't paid (via auto-dudect). I expressed how aut-dedeuct isnt my problem & credit card has been on file all year. She eventually agreed that would be an issue on their end but called it a miscommunication?   Recital was a complete embarrassment. Venue was horrific, the show was more about the "teachers" (I use that term loosely) then it was about the kiddos. No structure backstage except for the teenager teachers yelling at grown adults. My family traveled from out of state as they always do & they were shocked at the performance quality & venue utilized.   Though this isn't everything that happened all season long, these are the highlights. This is not just my opinion, several moms have contacted me appalled about the same issues & will not be going back.    Yesterday Jess texted me and some other moms about if we would be re-enrolling our kids. I very clearly outlined the reasons we would not be registering at this location again & she completely ignored everything. No apology, no addressing the concerns & issues, etc.    They are clearly short on sign ups & enrollments this year but refuse to address the issues as to why. So sad. Thankful there are a lot of other dance schools in the area.

To the owner Jess and any that would like an honest review…read more Our journey started last summer. One the search for a dance studio that would be fun for my daughter (5 years old at the time) and be able to add a new skill to her daily routine. I with my sister Rebecca wanted to have our girls dance together. As we knew this would probably be the last year they could be in the same class due to age differences. We looked all over. Compared many different schools. I was coming from Frederick Md, my sister from falling waters WV. So both of us made a trip to get to dance class each week. We came to look at the dance studio around early August 2023. To our surprise the dance studio was not open. A sign on the door said "under construction". We called the number on the door and although the call went to voicemail, we got a call back before we left the parking lot. And it was you. To later we would see is Ms.Jess the owner. You had made a good first impression on us that we decided to "wait" for your building to be ready for classes". Classes finally started in January 2024. Mind normally dance season starts when the school year starts. So we are almost 5 months behind. First tome in we walked in under the impression that the building was ready for business. But in fact it was not. Flooring was cement with some rugs. The rooms where the girls were to have class had patches of patched drywall mudding. Again we tried to looked over these imperfections and trying to see the bigger picture. Unfortunately this would just be a small problem compared to what was to come. It was constantly miscommunication to parents, or even no communication. The recital date and location seemed to change weekly. When greeted at the front door by the younger staff it was always cold and very off putting demeanor. It was so chaotic every single week for class. The tvs that we were told would be installed so we could view our children weren't installed or even in working conditions until 2 months later. Then these tvs were terrible quality that unless you were standing directly in front of them you couldn't see anything. When I said something but to you (the owner) you said and I quote "oh well, at least they are here". This unfortunately was the attitude that was always showed towards me and my sister. When costumes came in the sizing was wrong for my daughter. Her shoe size was not recorded properly. You even texted me asking to add it to my portal but even when I did that, it was still somehow incorrect. My sister needed to talk to you about her concerns. We all watched as you instructed your staff to not let us talk to you. You purposefully ignored her. Walking right in front of her and acting as if she wasn't even standing there. How embarrassing and unprofessional this was to sit there and watch. To know we are paying money; my sister paying for 1:1 classes for her daughter, and then to be treated like this. I had enough. When asking the front desk young lady when can we talk to you, she said she didn't know. In the middle of me talking to her, the girls teacher (who had been the worst one with being disrespectful to us) interrupted and rudely said "she's not available it's recital week what are you expecting". I told her how extremely rude and unprofessional this has been. I got eye rolls, laughing from her. When you finally decided that you were going to talk to Rebecca, you rudely came out in front of all the parents that were in the waiting room and loudly yelled her name from across the room, telling her "come and talk to me" and closed the door. The recital itself was highly inappropriate and distasteful. It was clearly more about your staff than about the student's. We had (as I'm sure many did as well) out of town family members. Some from New York, some some North Carolina and further. To sit there and watch staff perform, songs that were so extremely inappropriate. One said being "the house of the rising sun. The meaning behind this song is as "house of the rising sun" is used as a euphemism for brothels. It could be referring to a jail when interpreting the lyrics. Maybe completely appropriate for an adult dance studio. But one where parents, grandparents, elders, and most importantly children, young ladies. This is the message we are sending to our next generation? How? Why? These are only a few examples. I do have so many more but it isn't necessary at this time to continue on. I know this is long. And honestly overdue. I can only think because out of your own post on Facebook that your "enrollment is low" that you're reaching out to parents to get your enrollment higher. I wish truly that issues could have been addressed and handled professionally when they were brought to you. Being a business owner myself, as well as years in management, a good manager/owner can make the world of difference just by how they handle a "bad" situation.
